Yes...they do accept passports as that is legal ID for a foreigner
Using this, they should also accept bankbooks, driver's licenses, work contracts among others because you need to show a passport to get any of them.
But that would be logical.......

"...got his "nong chai" stuck had wanted to put a kink in it..."
Why would any man want to put a kink in his penis? Unless I'm misunderstanding this sentence.

Looks like a blowout to me. This leaves several questions that need answering, primarily among them, what kind of shape was the tire in? Were all the tires the same with the same tread wear? Was that tire the replacement after a flat? Was that tire damaged somehow, from hitting a curb for example? Was the rim of that tire damaged somehow, from hitting curb for example? Had the driver had any training whatsoever in defensive driving? (That's rhetorical) Was the driver tired after having been driving for too long? Was he using his phone at the time? Had he been drinking? Was he on drugs? Was his mind preoccupied because his mia noi is pregnant and threatened to call his wife? And on and on.......

I simply find it challenging to believe that I share this planet with people that stupid. I thought natural selection would have weeded them all out by now.

Just out of curiosity, what, exactly, would make an amulet priceless? I mean, dude had it stolen by a guy with a screwdriver.

I don't know but judging from the reports probably not, that is not the point, though.
They changed their minds after negotiating, agreeing, booking and paying for them. If they decided then that they didn't want to use them, that was their problem, the operator whose business is renting out jetskis, would not be obligated to refund them just because they'd changed their mind after paying!
Dude, they didn't change their minds about renting the jet skis. They changed their minds because they were not allowed to take pictures. It doesn't take a fantastic leap of logic to assume the jet ski operator did not want pictures taken because he was at the very least thinking of scamming them. They figured it out, which is hardly a master stroke of critical thinking, and wanted their money back, and rightfully so.
The jet ski guy should have let them take pictures or given their money back.

The Chinese will take over much of the world in the not too distant future. They've been setting the scene for years.
There are three main issues I see:
1. Westerners consider long term planning 5 years or so
2. SE Asians consider long term planning what's for dinner
3. Chinese consider long term planning generational.
We haven't got a chance.

Red light district...massage....shots into the back door down low....
This was nothing more than a "Keep your mouth shut cuz we can get you any time we want to." message.
I wonder what he did. We know it upset some seriously powerful people.
It's not completely unlikely Big Joke has been shooting his big mouth off around town recently.

Looking at the photo one could easily and justifiably assume he is bickering and/or spreading hatred. He looks like one angry dude!

Is the kid who got shot going to be okay?

If the jet ski guy had no intent5 of ripping off the renters, why object to pictures?
Their big mistake was paying before taking pics.

I don't blame drunk driving on these sad statistics. That is merely a symptom of the problem.
THE problem is attitude. Secondary to the problem is:
No proper training to drive.
No spatial recognition ability.
No critical thinking ability.
A complete lack of awareness, assessment and preparation to deal proactively with potential issues.
Driving beyond your ability to control the vehicle.
Driving the vehicle beyond it's designed operational parameters.
Driving a vehicle that is not to manufacturers specifications.
Driving without a helmet.
Overloading the vehicle with passengers or other things.
Speeding.
Zipping in and out of traffic.
Passing in an unsafe manner.
Unawareness of everything that is happening around you.
No serious or legitimate penalties for infractions of any type.
Being above the law for those "special VIP" types.
No sense of courteous driving whatsoever.
Crappy roads in need of repair.
Phones!
All things being equal, let's say person "A" is driving a motorbike that is in perfect running order. He or she is a very courteous and cognizant driver. Everything works. The mirrors are set to see behind you not stare into your own face. They are riding alone with a proper helmet that fits correctly and is buckled. The phone is in their pocket. They are driving with the flow of traffic obeying all the laws. They are positioned properly in their lane, not in another vehicle's blind spot. They are vigilant and aware of their surroundings and proactively judging potential problematic situations and have a clear plan on what to do if something happens.
But they have a blood alcohol content of 0.08%. They are legally drunk. And let's face it, for the average Thai guy who has an empty stomach, this could be one beer. Less for the average female.
I'd like to know the statistics for the above scenario. I bet drunk driving barely plays into it.
The problem is so much more profound than simply saying "drunk driving" killed "A".

So, kid drives. Kid dies. Parents guilty of murder.
What's the prison sentence for murder?
That's what I want to know. If none is forthcoming this is naught but typical empty Thai rhetoric.

Apparently riding a bicycle doesn't necessarily make one intelligent enough to read and follow extremely simple laws.
Ya wanna work? Git yerself a legal work permit.

why does this country do nothing to stop this carnage? Is it just put in the "too hard basket"
Or is it a buddha thing.............reincarnation,so why bother everyone comes back anyway?
There was a survey some time back and the results showed about 1/3 of Thais believe there is nothing they can do to prevent an accident. It is completely up to fate and it is not possible to change what is preordained.
As an educated Westerner, I realize how profoundly stupid and illogical that line of thinking is, but the Thais aren't particularly well educated, intelligent or logical. Thus, they die.

Hi, I'm interested in spending a few days in Hua Hin. I've been before and like it. I stayed at the Fat Cat once and another place whose name I can't remember. The Fat Cat was closed the second time I was there.
Does anybody have any suggestions for a decent place to stay? I'd like in the 1000 baht range per night. Doesn't have to be fancy, just clean. I'm only going to sleep there and spend the days on the beach.
Say from December 26 to December 31 or thereabout. So 5 nights. I have to be back in Vientiane for work on January 6. Dates are flexible within that timeframe.
I've looked at flights. They're reasonable.
Thanks

thought bikes were supposed to stay in the left lane, sorry for the poor lady but she should have been in the left lane and did she check her mirrors as well as indicate to merge left, highly doubt it as not many bike riders use mirrors or indicators here. As for the truck driver, nothing unusual, they always speed and dont take notice of other road users, he needs to be charged for her death as well as loss of licence. The biggest problem is they do not put out signs before getting to these areas that a lane is closed for police checks, they have witches hats 50 metres before you get to them and thats all the warning you get, no lights and no signs, their idea of safety is a joke
Mostly true except for the bike riders not using their mirrors. They use them constantly to look at themselves, fix their hair, pick at their skin..............
