It does appear to be an an

automation taking over from the pilot . Something similar happened with air bus crash at an air show. Pulling back with full power did nothing, and the pilot got fired.

no he didn't get fired, he got censured by airbus as a test pilot and as he was in the wrong mode the engines didn't respond but it was an idiot test and pilot training and software was changed. it was the pilots fault not the aircrafts fault.

1.Does a marriage/divorce affidavit from the US embassy ever expire

2.Does a legalized document from the MFA ever expire

3.Can I get this done all in one day( Affidavit,Translation and MFA)

4.Must I have the Thai lady with me at the MFA!

    From my experience

    1. it is valid for 6 months but after recent activity I expect they would say 3 months.

    2. I think everything is 6 months.

    3. We did it through an agent near the British Embassy

    4. I make sure my wife is with me at all times so she can translate correctly and stop me doing/saying something stupid when they come out with something new.

  3. I know this is not pertinent to this topic but my wife has a small resort and yesterday a Swedish customer went to Rayong immigration to extend his holiday visa and got sent back for additional paperwork from my wife. She had provided copy of the family book, her ID card and our home address plus a few other things. He came back really pissed off as Rayong wanted one more form off my wife, list of guests form signed, when she is registered with immigration and reports everyone who stays online as she has an official account. She printed out this form and he went back today and guess what, THE STAFF WORKING TODAY DIDN'T NEED ALL THAT PAPERWORK - SCREAM!.

Can't any government official make all the offices have the same rules?. Another good one, a friend went to renew his driving licence and has a yellow book for his house. Rayong traffic office made him go to immigration and get the residence certificate and had to pay 500 baht to boot when it's supposed to be free. How can we plan anything when it looks like they make deliberate road blocks?.

pp. I used to work in India and had a residents permit and until recently I thought nobody could beat India for red tape but I think Thailand has taken over the mantle as India has entered the 20th century and things can be done online (without getting to the 21st).

  4. Modi is losing the propaganda war, he should have listened to Khan when he was asked where the terrorist camp was. Khan would have given access to the area if he had just waited and discussed the issue. Also Khan defused the issue later by releasing the Indian pilot, I know who's behaving like a real statesman. The world knows there are problems with terrorists in some of Pakistan's border areas but Modi should have discussed joint action with Pakistan's military.

  5. Rayong requires witness and bank statement has to be from the day of application, my bank opens 09:30 and immigration 08:00. My bank statement was from about 15:30 the day before application and not acceptable. It was our 4th marriage extension and because of no children another visit was required, this one seemed very strict compared with the first one we had.

  6. I'm not convinced about solar electricity but I am convinced about solar heating of water, it's too efficient and our high temp safety valve opens almost every day if we don't use enough hot water. The other thing to consider is where you live, I just did a quick search and this is the best map I could come up with in the short time about Global horizontal irradiation (never knew it was called that till I found this article).

    https://www.solaris.co.th/25-english/news/99-solar-gis-map-for-thailand

The other thing to consider is wind power, you can get a 10KW wind generator for a reasonable price (as compares a solar setup) and here on the coast in Rayong we get a fairly consistent wind from the south. I can't give websites about prices as I haven't looked for about 5 years but there is plenty to chew if you spend a bit of time with google.

Anyone got any recommended addons for live UK TV

use EPIC browser which has a built in vpn with a UK server and I don't know if there are pop ups as I use adblocker, use the website https://tvplayer.com/

and sign up with a UK post code - I use my brothers. watched the rugby on the weekend in 720p on the BBC (my connection is good so automatic was 1080p but laptop is 720).

As I said earlier I watch everything on my laptop through a browser but some sites you need a lot of protection running in the background.

    Startec AIO has multiple options.

Mobdro apk is probably best apk.

it used to be quality is low now, I watch everything on my laptop now through web pages. I will watch motogp and F1 on my laptop in 720p same as I did last year through web pages. one site for F1 even had F1 tv for about 4 races - being able to pick your drivercam

The Finnish family thought they were going on a vacation to a dream country , where paradise awaits .

But It's all just propaganda from the TAT!   It's filthy , unhygienic and pestered with sick animals that carries rabies.

Try the Maldives instead, made for tourists , best beaches in the world, now that's a true dream destination.

I hope the message gets back to Scandinavia and Finland, The Maldives are now on its way up on the bucket list for many travelers.

been there 12 times but every island now wants to be upmarket and expensive, gone are the cheap dive islands. don't think I will go back again.

'cheap' is relative as regards the Maldives

Other offices may vary ,as some just seem to make their own

rules up,a lot has been posted about these changes, many seem

to be wanting to move on to greener fields, the only good thing

for those staying, there will be less in front of you doing extensions.

    regards worgeordie

I did my marriage extension in Rayong Thursday and there were more people waiting for retirement than marriage or business extension and as marriage is now split from the main group it's a shorter wait, much shorter. I did have to wait in the other group later for a 90 day report .............

but I will say they were fast processing applications, when I read about Chang Mai queuing from early in the morning then read about how many applications they process in a day on this forum I have to ask why do you live there?

Sorry, never saw your original post, but can answer your question as I faced the same problem when I changed from retirement to marriage extensions. I just opened a separate account with 500K in it and used that for the marriage extension.

They can hardly force you into the retirement extension if you only show them less than 800K.

had a small fight with head of Rayong imm a few years ago and forced him to change me to a marriage extension even though I had more than enough for retirement and it looks like I did the right thing. I said to him at the time that the rules might change and wanted to make a marriage extension before the rules got worse.

Someone forgot to inform him that the majority of vehicles in Thailand are diesel and apart from the dangerous LPG conversion and costs involved, there are no other options (to my knowledge)

compressed natural gas (cng) or nvg as it's known in Thailand and at least here in Rayong it's easily available. you can buy new vehicles with this equipment already installed and you will see a lot of trucks with the tanks installed behind the cab.

as a bike rider of many years and many all around Thailand - wet roads here demand the utmost care, they become extremely slippery, hard to see what went on here but one thing that is obvious and has already been mentioned - he was going too fast for the conditions, it is also possible he went over the "road marking paint" which in Thailand is a cheap gloss finish (unlike in the west were it is gritty and grippy wet or dry) which is extremely dangerous and slippery when wet, this could have contributed to loss of control, even dry roads here have nowhere near the same grip levels as in the west.

    very sad and very tragic

    RIP

It's hard to tell because of the glare but it does look like he loses control as he goes over the centre line and you can see his right leg sticking out as if he's going to put his foot down to keep the bike upright or correct his balance.

  14. If you want to watch over the internet you can use the website https://tvplayer.com/watch/bbcone?nrsrc=nhp&nrc=lg, just sign up with a UK email address ( maybe not even UK) and give a UK post code ( I used my brothers) and watch the games in 1080p on BBC and 576p on ITV.

p.s. you will have to use a vpn and I use the one installed in EPIC browser which has a British server plus it's free.

You are correct, but the Nazi symbol is tilted by 45 degrees, making it infamous.  The symbols that you show are common and mean something totally different.  The reality is that a Japanese "political" organization influenced the adoption of the slightly altered symbol chosen by the third reich.  That 45 degree tilt makes the difference

pic top right, the image is reversed so the swastika points in the same direction as the nazi flag.
