Now: what is a van and what is a minibus? I have (probably wrongly) always considered vans and minibuses to be the same. Is a Toyota Commuter a van or a minibus?
By UK definition a minibus has passenger seats and windows, a van only has seats & windows at front and steel panels instead of windows on the sides with the interior empty for the carriage of goods.

These minibuses need 2 doors for the rear passengers because if the van rolls on to it's left side then the exit is face down in the road etc.

What I think is hilarious is that the previous poster actually believes the guy talking to the cat thinks the cat is understands and is answering him....
It’s like the guy that goes to a magic show and afterwards complains that it was all “tricks”, as if he was really going to magic in a tent at the backend of a carnival lot.
Hey, that girl didn’t really turn into a gorilla, I say her smoking a joint behind the tent with the gorilla! I don’t even think the gorilla was real, it had a man’s head!so you don't understand and make fun of me, <deleted>!

How about the rip off from the airline company that has just dropped you off?
You mean your government taxing air travel, I got charged more than £400 tax on a free airmiles business class flight from the UK to Thailand - that's about 20% of the flight price. (then they had the cheek to add VAT as well)

with TOT you can but you will pay for a commercial service but then I presume it's the same in most of Europe?

What about some real snakes then? Or learning cat language?
the first part of the video is an aggressive kitten not wanting to share, not as the guy talking thinks it's saying the food is nice lol.

We have problems with what looks a type of blackbird sihtting on our drying laundry, hung cd's etc and they don't care. The only time they move is when the cats are patrolling the garden. As for the mynah birds they get a free pass because of the many times they have alerted me to snakes in the garden and they are too intelligent to be taken in by plastic birds or snakes.

Shame they didn't stand up to VW and Audi with their international frauds; or prevent widespread bribery by Siemens in some markets.
Government hypocrisy - the hallmark of Western democracies.
and a shame that in the 80's they helped build chemical weapons factories in Iraq

11pm chucking it down again here in Rayong, Taphong. Weather radar looking very dense just offshore.

black clouds over the whole skyline in Rayong District, big thunder claps, then nothing, not a drop of rain. Someone has a sense of humour. I'm rapidly losing mine. I was in the UK last week and got soaked three times in 24 hours. Wish I had a fraction of that here.
8am in Taphong on the beach chucked it down but friend down the beach in Ban Phe said it didn't rain so heavy.

Hit Rayong about 8am this morning, weather radar showed dense clouds just offshore.

Why are you comparing one city in the US with the whole of Thailand? Do tourists go to the US wearing bulletproof vests? No, they go to see the sights whilst avoiding places like Detroit. Its the same in Thailand, the Chinese tour buses don't stop off in Khlong Toey, do they?
In other countries the press read the stats released by the national statistics office and report on them, in Thailand they release very little. Do you really expect the Thai press to go out and gather the stats themselves?
You don't see Venezuela's statistics posted very often, especially since Maduro took over, but when I was there a few years ago it was nuts with all the training shoes strung over the telephone cables where I was staying. I think it's still rated as the most dangerous country for being murdered.

While I understand that you may not be able or want to change anything with regard to your windows just having thick glass is usually not the best way to reduce noise coming through windows. The best way is having different thickness of glass with a large air gap between them. Wood frames are better than PVC which is better than aluminium.
Having, for example an IGU (double glazing unit) with different thickness of glass and one of those a laminated pane will be much better. You can also add secondary glazing inside your existing windows which if properly fitted will give an even better sound reduction.
My doors and windows, though not specifically designed to reduce sound, give me over 20dB reduction and they are quite big.
wow that's impressive, every 3db means half intensity so that's volume halved 5 times, although the 10db rule works and it means in real terms the noise has been halved twice - nice. Every 3db's is noise energy doubled or halved.

You are right and I studied this many months on the Internet. I was so desperate that I tried very hard to find a fix. Now I have very special windows already - no standard windows. Very deep frequencies are still a problem. And the other limitation is the thickness of the wall and so the space I can use for windows. Balcony doors are another problem especially if you don't have the space to put several doors in a row. But I am getting tired. Sometimes when they have a special party even the floor vibrates. So I am not sure if it makes sense to continue with windows and balcony doors or with anything else in respect of construction.
You can stop it but it means spending money, you can line your whole apartment internally with Rockwool slab and create a room within a room. It's very dense and it's the kind of thing recording studios do but you will also have to have new internal windows built for sound separation, it would be cheaper to buy a new condo.

They too mentioned no connection with the smog. They blamed the hot weather saying clearly the tourists had gone to cool off in the sea in Pattaya and Rayong.
It's steaming hot in Rayong as well but at least it does cool the air a bit as the wind is coming from the south off the sea.
-
In Rayong they don't accept the yellow book for driving licence renewal anymore, don't know about the pink ID card, so you have to go to immigration for the residence certificate and 500 baht for immediate issue or wait 1 week and it's free.

I've recently had problems renewing my Halifax Debit Card as the old one was due to expire,I Requested that they sent me a NEW One ( They Knew I Lived in Thailand ) After 4 L-O-N-G Phone calls they kept telling me " We Have Sent you a new card Every time I Called them ) But only the last call did the lady tell me that they had sent 3 New Cards,But only to the branch were I held my Account but that is in Liverpool ( That's A LOT of Good Ain't it ?? )......I Have since been given my expenses for the LONG Phone calls for The Distress & Inconvenience that I've suffered, I've Still NOT got my card HERE But at least I've got the Details of it passed on through a very good friend in the U.K.....I've Also WARNED The Halifax <deleted>*k Up AGAIN & I'll go straight to the Banking Ombudsman......Just Waiting for THEM to do it Now !!! & It Won't only cost them expenses the next time they do !!!
I had a similar problem with Halifax 2yrs ago. I phoned Halifax and informed them that I would be traveling to the UK and could they issue a new debit card and I would pick it up from the account holding branch. The advisor said that it wouldn't be a problem as it would delivered to my Thailand address to which I replied that most of my friends don't get debit cards sent here by their banks. A supervisor then came on said the same thing that it would be delivered to Thailand. I was in the UK in September and my card expiry was in November so I returned to Thailand and lo & behold the new debit card never arrived.
I contacted Halifax only to be told that my card had been sent to the account holding branch (scream) because Thailand is quarantined by Halifax due to fraud. At this point I lost it and explained the conversations I'd previously had but the advisor said there was nothing she could do. I made a formal complaint following the online procedure and the security dept agreed I had done everything correctly and they would look at changing some procedures for training of their advisors and sent me a new card by courier but advised that this wouldn't be repeated. It just goes to show that sometimes even when everything is done correctly siht still happens so I have a great deal of sympathy for Mr Perez if he did as he said.

Sri Lanka imposes emergency, says international network involved in attacks
Very misleading title, makes it sound like the people who carried out the attacks are announcing this.

Rayong Amphor wanted 2 Thai witnesses other than my wife when I got my yellow book although it's becoming less useful here talking to friends as the driving license office wants the residence certificate from immigration for license renewal which will cost 500 baht instantly or free in one week so big jok didn't get that stopped even with his life size poster there. I think it took 2 visits to the amphor to finalise the yellow book. Was never offered the pink ID card though.

If not, the rush to judgement is pretty profound.
BTW, the revised, updated coverage paints a very different picture of what happened than the OP.
