  1. I've been with Vanguard for over 35 years, holding a mix of mutual funds and ETFs. I don't have a brokerage account. I have twice annual conference calls with my fund manager, one while at my home in the US and one while in Thailand. I couldn't be happier with the performance of my portfolio nor with the service the company provides.
  2. I'm not sure where you are in Thailand but if you're anywhere near Chiang Mai, might I recommend U. B. Worldwide Express. I think it's best to search them on Facebook and message them from there. The proprietor, Wandee, is easy to work with. If you can manage your own packaging and crating your belongings you'll save considerably.
  3. And for many these things can work. What we really need is a way to package and sell "outrage". It would be a big hit here.
  4. Better yet, as the poster has been going to the same pharmacy "for years" perhaps speak to the pharmacist in Thai.
  5. If the fire departments have remained "overwhelming white and male..." and the diversity programs have seemingly failed, then it would appear that the overwhelmingly white male departments are not up to the task. How is this a "Democrats" problem?
  6. Or speak in the same manner as this poster and you'll do just fine.
  7. Agreed! From a few "subtle clues" to 99% sure?
  8. That's the problem with relying on videos for news. There is abundant research available regarding the reuse and recycling of EV batteries. It's also worth noting that most EV batteries will outlive the vehicles they power.
  9. I would submit that it is in fact not at all "common" for a US presidential candidate without a plurality of the popular vote to win the office. It has happened 5 times in 58 elections. Furthermore there is no governing body with the authority to ban or abolish a political party in the US. To be certain other challenges to a candidate's success at the ballot box exist as the US witnessed in both 2020 and 2021.
  10. Agreed. As an American I've never heard the expression.
  11. You base your "categorical" statements upon anecdotal observations and how people and places "looked" to you. That a barber shop owner who just opened his shop is struggling, whether he's an immigrant or not, is hardly news. But the empirical data reflects a different reality. The US economy is the strongest of all developed countries. It may take a while for most Americans to come to realize this given the heated anti-incumbent rhetoric of the coming election season. I too have been back for the past two months and everywhere I look I see hope and heightened expectations, tempered only by the fear of a reversal driven by ugly partisanship. Like you, I hope that fear is unfounded.
  12. Contact Wandee at T. K. Express on Changklan Rd. She's competent and reasonable.
  13. I've done several METV applications and always book 1-2 nights at my destination (typically Chiang Mai). That has always proven sufficient. I suppose one could book accommodation with cancellation if one planned to immediately travel on. As @Tod Danielsnoted do make sure to have a flight out of Thailand by your 60th day already booked.
