I am on the French Riviera now, no visa needed as I am a EU citizen, no Corvid test needed, only thing you had to show was a vaccination proof when you boarded the plane, alcohol available in restaurants, no outside facemask rule, no curfew, same for most of the other European countries now.

A PCR test on departure to Thailand should be sufficient, why a test on arrival coupled to an expensive hotel stay? Why do you want us to spend our money on 2 Thai insurances corporations instead of spreading our money among the Thai people who are suffering at this moment? Even the Thai do not trust the local insurance companies as demonstrated in their rally 2 weeks ago.
What if the test on arrival shows a false positive situation, you will send us to an expensive hospital for foreigners for 14 days at our expense?
What if I am infected while in Thailand due to low vaccination rate of the Thai population and this is only discovered on the departure from Thailand PCR test? No, I am not traveling to Samui or Phuket this year. I am fully vaccinated and in my book it is sufficient and adequate for travel anywhere.
The cheapest Corvid insurance will cost me 5100 thb for 3 months, still don't know how much the hotel and test will cost. For a family of 4 this will probably add 1000 USD to their trip to Thailand. I think many people think like you and skip Thailand until all these extra costs are removed.

Wonder how long it will take the clowns who run the show here to understand that there are other countries with more friendlier rules that the tourists are going to instead of Thailand?

They could have cleaned up the dirty and broken tourist towns during the last year when nobody visited the place, made proper beach promenades, resurfaced all the broken roads, hidden all the ugly over head wires etc. etc. Did this happen, no they just left the ghost towns to further fall apart.

TUI, the biggest travel agent in Scandinavia yesterday cancelled all their flights to Thailand for this coming high season. Just too complicated and expensive to get all those crazy documents that you need for be able to enter the country.

Strange how they can up with such exact spending numbers all the time, when at the same time you buy something for 50 baht and hand over a 100 baht note and they have to use a calculator to figure out how much to give back,

Must be some really smart guys in the Royal Thai Navy! Hopefully they don't have to fight a war in the future.

I just returned from the USA and food prices are mostly much cheaper here than in America or Europe. Even if your claim was true, ya think most tourists will be shopping for their food in supermarkets and markets? Restaurant prices here are a fraction of what they are in Europe and the USA.
Sure you can get Thai food cheaper here than in Europe or in the states, but in what restaurant can you order a quality bottle of wine and a decent Angus beef steak to a price lower than in Europe?

Keep digging when in a hole...
Soon cheaper to spend your beach holiday on the French Riviera, bought decent wine for 3 Euros per bottle in the supermarket, meat, cheese, milk, coffee, vegetables also cheaper here than in Thailand, only hotel cost more but Airbnb rates not to bad here. Clean beaches and no stray dogs or plastic waste all over the place like Phuket, Krabi, Samui.

More Thais will die of faked chicken fried in old palm oil than of Corvid in the future.

I can give you an answer that you maybe don't like: stop sending your infected, so called "fully vaccinated" workers to Finland and Sweden.

Beaches are packed in Mexico and in the Med right now, no stupid Corona insurance, you will not be face raped multiple times to enter, no overpriced hotels or silly hoops and those idiots in charge here think this sandbox model is generating money. They must be on an other planet or completely out of their minds.

Below is a breakdown of deaths with COVID in Sweden where the schools were not closed, gyms, hairdressers, restaurants and shopping centres etc. all remained open and no compulsory soggy germ ridden facemasks. Note it is deaths WITH COVID not necessarily of. Make of it what you will but it does not seem to me to be a very dangerous disease that warrants the current hysteria. In fact, no more dangerous than flu. Sweden has admitted it failed to protect those in care homes the same failure as the UK. It would be interesting to know the age breakdown of those who died with COVID in Thailand.
Number of WITH-Covid deaths/ Population/Rate per 100,000 by age cohort:
-
0-9 years: 1/1.22 million/ 0.08 per 100,000;
-
10-19 years: 0/1.19 million/ 0.0 per 100,000;
-
20-29: 10/1.31 million/ 0.77 per 100,000;
-
30-39 years: 16/1.37 million/ 1.16 per 100,000;
-
40-49 years: 45/1.31 million/ 3.42 per 100,000;
-
50-59 years: 162/1.27 million/ 12.8 per 100,000;
-
60-69 years: 398/1.14 million/ 34.8 per 100,000;
-
70-79 years: 1,250/.917 million/ 128.7 per 100,000;
-
80-90 years: 2,408/.425 million/ 567.0 per 100,000;
-
90 years plus: 1,512/.119 million/ 1,271.0 per 100,000.
No country can run away from this virus forever as say New Zealand is/will experience and Thailand is the same. I would say “open up and let it do its worst, it is going to happen anyway," and I am comfortably over 60. It just does not seem reasonable to disrupt the education of the young and ruin the livelihoods and businesses of millions under 60 to protect us oldies. Just my opinion and Thailand is not my country so I have no say in the matter. Other opinions are available.
Also the vaccines do not work in preventing transmission, see the latest data from Israel and UK. If they did then lockdowns would be justified until most are vaccinated but this is not the case.
Thailand and the Thais could never copy how Sweden did it as they got no self discipline and most of the Thais got a "me first attitude", just watch the Bang Sue vaccination mess. They can't even organize a proper lock down or how to safely vaccinate people.

The hotels were full here July to mid September, now is the last warm month of the season but still many tourists here, Germans, Scandinavians and locals. Gran Canarias, Tenerife will be fully booked this winter as many of the big charter operators think it's too late now to promote Thailand.
