  1. To answer your questions one by one

1: If I change the country/region setting to Thailand, will there be issues with U.S. banking apps, or other apps in general?

Yes. A lot of banking apps are only regionally available. This is due to the developer need to pay for each different region a fee for listing. As banking apps are "local" apps they will not pay for worldwide access. Same for different other apps. Therefore do not change it, but setup a new Apple id, which you can easily switch between in the app store app. DO not change the Apple id in the settings, as this will screw up your phone.

2: What happens when I go to upgrade my iPhone and purchase it in Thailand? I assume it will come set to Thailand as country/region.

Nothing will change. iPhones are not locked for a specific region. As soon as you register the phone with your apple id it will change the region and language settings, etc. Only difference will be the warranty. iPhones will get only a local warranty. Same for other products with wireless possibilities.

3: Being physically in Thailand, will I be Able to change the country/region to U.S., if needed?

Yes, but it does not always work and it does not change your geocaching and gps settings. You just go to setting -> General -> Language & Region -> Region. You can switch the country and Apple will show you the available services in the country of your choosing.

  2. You will need to translate the marriage certificate in the US by a registered translator. Then the Embassy will need to authenticate your certificate. The Embassy will be able to tell you about the process as every country is a bit different.

Then the translated and stamped marriage certificate will need to be registered and authorized by the foreign ministry in Thailand. Afterwards you register yourself and your wife as married at the Amphoe.

Agreed, the repair garage is responsible; see my previous post.

However, roojai should be involved, especially if the car is still in the shop and the OP hasn't accepted the repair as complete.

The issue is not the repair itself. The repair was done quite well and I signed off on it. The issue was, that the garage tried to cover up the paint on the black plastic parts of my car. Anyway, I got a hold of a Manager at Roojai and hopefully it is getting solved now.

it seems to me that Roojai isn't responsible for this.

the garage is at fault - I wonder if they are insured?

who is the garage's client? is it you and Roojai foots the repair bill, or is it Roojai directly, i.e. the garage invoices Roojai directly?

Roojai is responsible. It is a contractor of Roojai and they agreed the price and pay him directly. No involvement of mine and no say if I wanted to go there or not.

  5. Hi. I am currently running into some issues with Roojai.

Does someone had similar experience and/or a contact from somebody in the higher management.

Basically I claim an not at fault accident and had to go to one of their service garages. Sadly this garage screwed up and left paint spots all over my car.

Now a lot of parts need to be changed due to cannot be painted or repaired.

Roojai is only answering e-mails after numerous follow ups and give me the run around with meetings and further inspections of the car.

Before I signed up with them I only heard good things, but apparently there is always the one in a million.

Never mind the whisky, you cant send anything at all to the USA or Europe right now because the Thai postal service is not operating there at the moment on account of Covid19 disruptions to air traffic. My online shop has been closed since March as I am unable to ship anything except by EMS which is too expense  to make any profit. My shop has had to close and I have lost about 60,000 baht as a result.

Not correct anymore. ThaiPost already allows international shipments coming in and going out. 4 weeks ago I send something to Germany and got a package from Switzerland. Both via ThaiPost.

  7. Thank you Sheryl for your help.

We do have a private insurance from our company and the Social Security.

Anyway, I will check with my HR first in regards to my registered Social Security Hospital and then go to BKK.

My next appointment would be beginning of September, so I still have some time.

  8. Sadly my insurance booted me after I was diagnosed and treated for cancer.

I do have a new private health insurance, but this one is not covering cancer treatments or check ups for the next 2 years. I do have an insurance through my company, but I know it will be of not much help for this.

Does anyone know a good government or cheap semi/private hospital in Chonburi/Rayong or BKK area, where I can do my follow up appointments for PET/CT Scans and Ultrasound, as DVT is not covered as well.

  9. You should Analyse your situation calmly and neutral. You mentioned, that you recently only married. Did she behaved similar before? Was there any indication that she is more impulsive? What did you do or say before she went over the top? Do you and speak well enough English or might there be a language barrier, which could agitate the situation if you have any discussion?

DId you know yourself long enough before getting married? If you have no answer to any of these questions, then better to leave and get divorced. If you have find out who and what is the issue and raise it once both of you can think clearly again.

  10. All the negatives here aside. You know what you are doing. As a German the easiest way would be to get married in Hong Kong.

I went there myself to get married, as they do not ask for the affidavit to marry from the Embassy but a sworn statement. The marriage is as well recognized by Germany without further registration once you have applied a apostille  by the high court.

  11. Hi. I am looking for some recommendation for a shop, which could make good customs training wheels. We just upgraded my sons bike and it is a lot bigger, than what he used to be and is now not confident to ride. The training wheels you can buy online are not suitable for the size he is now riding and getting it from overseas is quite expensive.

  12. Hi. I am looking for recommendation for bike car racks. I checked out Thule and TWE already. As i need 4 racks, Thule is getting quite expensive. TWE would be more the price range, but maybe you have other suggestions/recommendations. Especially if you know any stores around Pattaya area. Should be able to transport 2 fat bikes, mob and kids bike.

  13. You can use you Debit Card, but make sure that it is activated for use outside Thailand. Either call the BBL Hotline onl 1333. They will need to verify your information. Easier will be at the branch you opened your account. There you will only need to sign a document, but takes slightly longer until it is setup in the system.

Make sure that your withdrawal limit is adjusted accordingly, otherwise you might be only able to withdrawal a lower amount.

  14. All 3D printers require a license from the THAI government. The explanation is easy but ridiculous. You could print a weapon with it. That is true but most likely not the reason to acquire one. Therefore as a private person I would leave my hands off it and buy one locally

  15. Hi,

I am getting tired of wearing my glasses and they are getting daily more and more in my way.

Do you know any good clinics and doctors who have the experience in Thailand?

What do I have to expect in regards to operation, aftercare, risks in your opinion? I read already a lot as I considered doing a lassie operation. But according to the doctors it would be no option for me.

What would be the costs I need to expect?

I do know that there are 2 types of lenses normal and multi focal. I am looking for normal ones.

Any positive or negative answers are welcome and please refrain from advertising glasses or contact lenses. I am not able to wear contact lenses for different reasons and as said am getting tired of wearing glasses.
