  1. Rubbish. Everything is taxable. The state pension is deducted from the personal allowance and is the residual allowance is applied to private pensions etc.
  2. A few people have recently received a revised Notice of Coding which increases the amount of tax paid in the next tax year. This change in coding is solely as a result of the expected increase in state pensions. Many expats living in Thailand do not receive the annual increase in pension so, in these circumstances, will be paying too much tax. Check your coding if you receive a new advice and take it up with HMRC if you think you are affected.
  3. Meat on the bones:- The Playing Cards Act is a law in Thailand that prohibits individuals from owning more than 120 playing cards that have not been registered by the Excise Department. The current law was passed in 1943, superseding previous acts. The Playing Cards Acts are part of Thailand's strict anti-gambling laws dating back to 1935. To ensure legal possession of playing cards, under Section 12 of the law, a competent official has the power to enter anywhere between sunrise and sunset to conduct a search
  4. Rubbish! Should read, in most cases, "whose extra curricular relationships ability involve a paid encounter on XYZ"
  5. Be careful you don't fall off that high chair............ I like to visit prostitutes, but I am most certainly not a desperate loser. How does that fit with your stereotyping?
  6. Do you have a life?..............
  7. You seem like a bored brainless troll................so I guess you speak from experience,
  8. Just under the bridge.............................
  9. Agents (mine at least) can renew 3 months early - but, as Dr Jack said, it doesn't change your renewal date.
  10. Absolutely yes. My online report was rejected following my return on 30th December. At Jomtien I was told that they want the first 90 day report, after returning to Thailand, to be done in person. That was NOT the case when I returned last July.
  11. Staff at Jomtien Immigration told me that they like us to report in person for the first time after returning from overseas. Absolutely pointless IMO.
  12. Spoken with the confidence of a man who has been there, done it.
  13. I suffered two rejections. I returned to Thailand on 30th December and reported online yesterday for a due date of 28th March. My extension of stay runs to 19th June.
  14. Yep. That's the sort of redneck hospitality we have come to expect.
  15. Of course he can ask the question here - and receive a definitive "Yes".......Thais don't need 6 months on arrival....they can enter on an expired Thai passport.
  16. Ridiculous fee. You should pay no more than 5/6,000 Baht for the service on top of the UKPA fee.
  17. Last year my missus applied for Spain/Hungary and was granted a visa for 3 years. I like the new scientific approach of granting longer terms based on specific track record; Thailand would do well to look at that!
  18. Probably the same agency..... possibly some saving as my friend as a BKB bank account. A Farang owned agency quoted me 2k more than I am paying.
  19. Indeed. I was trying to show the comparison of using an agent for a 'straight' application (8,000 Baht) and a 'no money' application ay the figure of 39,000 Baht that was quoted. The long-standing, respected agent that I use charges 12,500 Baht for a 'no money' application.
