  1. Don't ask me - ask the OP who made that statement.................you do understand the difference between the OP and an ordinary poster?
  2. Interest lost, not statement charge, you foolish boy.....................
  3. You might want to read his post again........................
  4. Still is. Same as me, he hasn't lost his quality just because he retired from his chosen career.
  5. They are going to need to get their act together if they are uplifting fees by such inflation busting amounts. There is evidence of poor/illegal decisions coming out of this sector. It is even worse for is in Thailand because we are not offered the option to transact in Sterling, or Baht, - so we will be screwed on the US Dollar conversion rate.
  6. Disappointing. Try again next time you enter at Swampy... I am also defacto 17+ years and ALWAYS enter together via the Thai side.
  7. Good information. Could you now add (for the purpose of perspective) the people who have been taken to court for those who falsely declared their residence - or failed to advise a change to an overseas address.
  8. That's not a reason, it is an excuse. You are also aware that 'policy' is probably enshrined in some corporate missive from 1999. JCB did the same for a number of years (and blankly refused to remit to Thailand). Mercer took over management of the pension and took a more practical attitude.
  9. Much cheaper via WISE. I retired from HSBC and get free transfers....it is still more beneficial for me to remit via WISE - and a lot quicker.
  10. You have an allocated sort code and account number. If DWP and Mercer, for example, can pay direct to WISE then there is no reason for Standard Life not to........Attitude!.........
  11. Nobody cares if you have an issue or not. Your self-righteous approach is redundant; corruption is endemic in Thailand and here to stay. Using agents to make life easier is a natural course of action. I will be using an agent this year because I have a specific reason to do so. Please don't try and tell me that my extension stamp is any less legitimate than yours!
  12. Both ends. Just to add to the post from @sandyf WISE do not charge for UK domestic transfers either. So, GBP in from, say, HSBC - no charge; GBP from your WISE account to, say, HSBC - no charge.
  13. More marketing! Enjoy that mercury with your Chinese Himalayan salt... https://www.facebook.com/reel/898024035377800?s=yWDuG2&fs=e&mibextid=Nif5oz
  14. I didn't. Quite the opposite I hope.
  15. Ah, so now you are a culinary expert! Lord preserve us Go Celtic.
  16. Those of us 60+ realised that a long time ago. Not clinging to anything, just taking advantage of market forces and the availability of product - which is probably half our ages. When you get there you will know.
  17. Chefs where I eat...........................or at least they think they are. That said, the best fry up I ever had WAS at a transport cafe on the A1....... coincidentally on the way way to watch Liverpool hammer the bar codes in the 1974 FA Cup final.
