Who 'taught' them to do that? Millions of Thais who have never met, never passed on information or tuition...................... From Phuket to Pai and Buriram to Hua Hin they do that - and have been doing so for decades.

Not worked up at all, I just hate inefficient systems and a decision process that relies on one person talking to another, Any criteria that starts with the assumption that the applicant actually wants to emigrate to the USA is both misguided and arrogant, Having been involved in obtaining somewhere approaching 100 visas I can safely say that the US application process is the worst I have come across.....on top of that ....133 days to make an appointment - pathetic. Discriminatory against Thais - most certainly - I avoided using the term "racist"....now go and look that up.

A good post. Whilst you may well be right (in the changing your mind scenario), DWP will not confirm this. They will say that each case is determined on it's merits and there is specific rule covering it..............................Personally, I don't believe that but I have yet to see anything 'official' published on the EXACT criteria for retaining the uprated amount if you subsequently decide to return to Thailand.

Yep.....2 UK bank accounts plus WISE should see you OK. That said, surely MOST people living in Thailand have a relative or friend who will provide an accommodation address.

Personally, and based on a wooly reply from DWP, I would say not. The pension would revert to the original frozen amount.
