To the OP, in March 2023 there was a big place on Soi Bukhau, at the market just after Tree Town heading south. (Before the big bends in the road)
Their coconut cookies with cannabis were delicious and (ahem) effective.
Thanks.
Apologies for seeming "dim" (and I am familiar with Pattaya)..... I wasn't aware of a market after Treetown in a northerly direction (Sawasdee Inn, soi Honey, LK Metro, soi Diana etc).
In a northerly direction there is a little market after 7-11 just before the S bend at "R-Con corner" - now Witherspoons)..... where am I going wrong.

Easy just make your own, much better quality.
That would require a recipe 😉....................and knowledge of what ingredients are required for best results.
Call me lazy, but off the shelf is the best short term solution for me.

Blimey. That is a bit cerebral for this time on a Friday evening.

As I said in the post, paid by Wise, from THB balance. Fairly sure the payment is now local and if I had used my HSBC credit card would have been a good bit more. Will be paying again in a few weeks time.
UK.GOV are a bit inconsistent, GBP on this page
https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor/apply-standard-visitor-visa
Thanks Sandy. I only asked because such a WISE transfer would require bank details for UKVI (or VfS) and I don't recall seeing that option on the payments page.
I don't hold Thai Baht balances with WISE, but I very easily could do.

If it's a joint account it shouldn't present a problem.
As you say, it "shouldn't" be a problem. The account passes to the survivor by succession and bypasses Probate.
BUT, this is Thailand and I have seen obstacles put in front of a surviving spouse. It is worth checking with the bank (although you cannot guarantee what will happen several years later). I much prefer the idea of the surviving account holder cleaning out the account before advising the bank.
These words from UK Citizens Advice:-
Couples may also have joint bank or building society accounts. If one dies, all the money will go to the surviving partner without the need for probate or letters of administration. The bank may need the see the death certificate in order to transfer the money to the other joint owner.
This from HSBC:-
Any Current Accounts or Savings accounts held in the sole name of the deceased will be frozen. This includes the use of any cards linked to the account(s) and being able to transact via telephone or online banking.
No restrictions will be placed on joint accounts as joint accounts will transfer automatically to the surviving account holders.

In the event of death (when the bank finds out about it), the account will be locked until a Thai "probate" court grants authority to an executor to access it. Having one's wife/partner as a signatory on the account doesn't change that; however, until the bank is aware of the death, the wife/partner who is a signatory should have no problem accessing account funds.
Just to complete your post ......."albeit illegally".
Just because the bank have not been made aware of the death, it does not mean it hasn't happened.
All mandates cease on death.

Not questioning what you did but why would Immigration want to check for money transfers from overseas when you say you do your extension based on 800k baht in the bank? Makes no sense to me....as one can support such an annual extension on the 800k in the bank or showing you transferred 65k a month for the year. Showing both isn't required anywhere as far as I know. I suspect your Immigration Office wanted to see your bankbook (or copies) only to verify that the ending balance equaled what the bank letter said.
As Siam Andy said, Chiangmai Immigration (for annual extension based on retirement) requires both the standard bank letter (showing the account name and balance) and a 12-month statement (supposedly so they can check that you maintained the proper amounts for the proper time periods).
It has been said before but, if you show 800k FIXED in a bank account an IO has every right to say "what are you living on, are you working?".
Apart from the funds on deposit they want to see account activity.

There was a cracking little Thai restaurant in soi21, off soi Buakhao in Pattaya, that sold packs muffins and cookies at 100 Baht each.
Sadly, the owner has closed up and returned Chiang Mai.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a similar edibles shop.

That's not true, last Feb I paid 4208 THB from Wise for the visitor visa, merchant shown as BB-UKVI which I assume is Bangkok Bank.
Going by the amount, looks like converted from GBP on the day, my previous payment was 4325 THB.
Interesting. How did you make that payment Sandy?
Last month I paid 5,313 Baht via Nationwide credit card (the only currency they offer - apologies I was wrong about USD being quoted - confusing that uk.gov quote Dollars:-)

Yep, I wouldn't buy at that price either - just pointing out that it is available in Thailand.

Yes I do miss certain foods from "back home" but many even most of them are satisfied here (Pattaya).
Specifically --
Mexican dishes such as chile relleno, chicken dark mole, pozole
Ethiopian
Vietnamese Pho (sold here but not good)
I think that concurs with what I was saying...............these days you can get 'passable' substitutes for virtually all foods from "back home" - BUT, most are not up the standard back home.

In Chiang Mai, a 12 Month Statement from the bank is required by immigration.
That should be standard because the IO SHOULD be checking for compliance with the terms of the previous approval - as well as 2 months before the current application.

There is a joke going around.
Question : Where in the world can you eat the best English food?
Answer : Nowhere because there isn't such a thing.
And if you doubt, have a look on this list. UK is listed #51

LOL....someone who can't even trust their own taste buds and has to resort to a Septic news report! 🤣

Proper Fish and Chips, with the chips cooked in beef dripping.
That, for me, is the one notable exception.
Nobody, but nobody, has consistently turned out proper fish and chips.
(not any of the Bangkok pseudo British pubs, nobody in Pattaya - Goose's was excellent most of the time, The Village Chippy usually, Frydays if Liam was cooking, Sharples inconsistent - likewise Witherspoons, Robin Hood (and other pub venues) - Caddyshack probably up there for consistency...........................but none up there with 'proper' fish and chips from Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby, Filey, Skegness etc)

Not enough to bother posting about it on an internet forum.
Things have changed over the last 20 years, you can now easily access passable substitutes for most foods from your home country (there are a few notable exceptions).
I am more interested in the fact that Thailand chicken and pork tastes better than my home country - at a significantly lower price,.
