Nope not even close. There are many more important laws to change.
That being said I can understand 2 to 5 closing restricts late lunch and drunk drivers at rush hour.
You seem to have a very narrow view of life.

You're right, gold has been such a terrible investment over the years!
Exactly.
As I told my missus 15 years ago when the price crept over 10,000 Baht......."it won't be long before it is back under 10k!".....

That would make a refreshing change.

I don't mind the afternoon restriction because I'm napping then. It's the morning one that gets me. We always like to shop early morning to avoid the crowds, but if I need to stock up on my booze, I have to make another trip to the local grog shop after 11am.
It's not about you...........................

The rule is typical of a dinosaur government not wanting anything to change.
Fear of change syndrome. (it is also the reason why education here will never change.)
Thailand wants and needs tourists.
Tourists on holiday tend to drink at different times.
Being told that they can only buy alcohol between 11.00 and 14.00 and then 17.00 and 24.00 is in opposition to encouraging tourists.
Yes, we all know that we can get a beer no matter the time, but tourists do not.
If the current government was in any way 'progressive' this is the first law they would abandon.

I "kind of" get it in 7-11 (if the population are really that irresponsible as to require booze locked away from them at that period) but in decent restaurants in tourist areas it's absolutely ridiculous.
Historically, prohibition has never been a success - anywhere.
I really don't get the point of the 2pm to 5pm restriction - nor the ban on alcohol sales near schools.
Alcoholics will always have a drink available and even heavy drinkers will usually plan their purchases to ensure they have adequate stock. The restriction only works against the 'normal' person, who has not planned the timing of their purchase, and the spontaneous buyer - that obviously includes tourist visitors.
I don't like rules that (IMO) serve no purpose; this one serves no purpose and I certainly don't buy the 'protection of school children' argument.

Is that what you got out of my post? I mean really?? If you have not ever noticed then I will explain something to you. Some people seem to call it Pattaya immigration and a poster mentioned they told him to come back just one day before. Another poster called it Jomtien immigration and said he was told to come only three days before. Now would you like to tell me it's actually spelled " Chomtien " as well?
That was ALL I got out of your post.
It is actually Chonburi Immigration.

You mentioned going a couple weeks before and there have been several reports that you could only go three days before at Jomtien and even a report only one day before at Pattaya.
Jomtien is Pattaya........................

Many people on this site know of ;Nookie' and he can get stuff to you in Pattaya, He has cod although I find it a bit chewy, and he has haddock.
https://www.nookiesdelights.3baht.net/products.htmI have bought off Nookie for year but I no longer buy cod (from anyone) for the reasons mentioned above.
I also found the cod to be chewy and after defrosting and cooking I reckon I lost 50% of the frozen weight. That made it a very expensive meal.

Do you know if this requirement is listed somewhere ?
I'm wondered how a tourist should know about that as this is not common practice and is not listed as a requirement on the IATA System and also not at the Thai Embassy.
Smart move is always to have it on your phone.

Agreeing to be an Executor is not something to be taken lightly, as there is work involved, even if an estate is not 'complicated'. A person should never be named as Executor unless they have agreed to it and there should be an alternate named in the Will. Unless an Executor, such as a family member, specifically states he or she dos not want compensation for the work involved with being an Executor, I think it's a good idea to discuss this with the Executor and have monetary compensation written into the Will.
Don't take a hammer to crack a nut.
I am regarded as wealthy, but in Thailand I will only have bank accounts with up to 5/500k Baht in them.
The objective is to avoid Probate (and the relatively high cost of using a lawyer to obtain it). Mechanisms have been put in place to hopefully ensure that my partner can access/transfer any money in the bank. Two motorbikes and three cars are already in her name.
The executor is a good friend and won't get one Satang for his efforts.

Can the Executor be the main/only beneficiary of a will in Thailand?
Yes.
Only witnesses cannot be beneficiaries.

And that was my point.
What are the chances that a court will approve an unregistered will as being legit?
Even when registering a will at the amphur there have to be witnesses for a reason.
100% they will approve it.
I have done it several times.

13 minutes ago, BenStark said:So you reckon the executor will have access to the deceased bank accounts by just showing an unregistered piece of paper?
AS @Liverpool Lou has pointed out, the Will is only the piece of paper that gets presented to a local court to obtain Probate.
The bank acts on Probate.

VFS UK Visitor Visa Application Processing Time, Appointment Availability
in Visas and migration to other countries
Posted
Waffle
The processing times for a standard visitor visa rarely "vary".
VfS will advise 15 working days as their standard processing time but a decision is usually made within a couple of weeks.
As far as appointments are concerned there is always a premium slot available - and you can walk in if you are prepared to pay for the privilege. For free appointments there is usually something available up to a week ahead.
