These GDP figures includes Government UNFUNDED expenditure. Easy to show "growth" when it's on the credit card. The real decline is much greater. Add in 1 million + extra population and the GDP per capita is probably down 3%+.

Probably, probably, probably................................you should be an economist.

It's always been their job to evidence bank statements.

    Incorrect.

The IO simply ticks a box from evidence that YOU supply. An IO could not analyse my bank statements if he looked at them all day.............a quick scan for 65k coming in monthly is the extent of their activities.

Obviously there were no bank statements in the days of the embassy letters.

Really don;t know what the problem is.  I forgot my extensionw as due, and am going up country tomorrow - so off to the bank on Sunday for letter (I use 800K), to copy shop for photocopies of all needed docs.

Down to Jomtien for 0730 Monday morning and there are about 50 ahead of me in the queue.  Info desk opens on the dot of 0800 and am through with my number (002)  by 0825.  Main doors open at 0830 and i am out again by 0850.    Under two hours door to door on what is supposed to be a "don't go that day" day.

As an aside, helpful chappie at desk said next year need new photo as background needs to be white (my phots are years old, so no real complaints).  Also, new requirement is a copy of ALL previous extensions, not just last one - again, very helpfully he merely photocopied the missing ones for me.

YMMV.  Those who wish to pay 8K+ for an agent to do some copying and skip the queue will have a little less beer money in their wallet.

I will never be short of beer money..................agent or no agent.

If the helpful little chappie at desk 8? could process my extension application 3 months before the due date then I wouldn't use an agent.

I don't care what you say, Jomtien Immigration is not a pleasurable place even when things happen as smoothly and timely as in your case.

One added bonus of using the agent this year is that I get immediate access to my 800k so I won't be making as many monthly transfers. I can build up my second lot of Premium Bonds holdings and hopefully recover my net 6,000 Baht from monthly prizes...... (that is totally separate from my beer money....)

Why did you not take all the papers, letters, statements. bank book copies directly to the IO?

Why the agent if it's all kosher?

There are many reasons for using an agent. Not having to deal with Jomtien Immigration is one of them.

I shall be using an agent this year because I need to renew my extension 3 months early.

In the case of Jomtien they want the bank to do their job for them by pulling out and identifying the 65K + transfers from a bank statement and typing them onto a separate letterhead as posted by bbko above. Perhaps they can't understand a simple bank statement with separating columns of deposits, withdrawals and the balance.

Not their job to evidence the transfers, that is why the system was always an embassy letter.

The monthly income figures are extrapolated from the main branch's file of 'international' transfers and printed out on a seperate letter of certification.

Immigration like letters/certificates signed by other people.

It looks like Sheff U, Burnley and one other out of Everton, Luton, Notts F or C. Palace. Hard to call, who do you think? I think Forest will drop.

Any imposition of a points deduction for Forest (it is Nottingham Forest, not Notts Forest)  and you are right.

It is all about points and Forest need some wins. We have had six 2-3 defeats, most from winning positions.

Personally, I think Luton will slip back and Palace may need another managerial change to stop their freefall.

Where were you privately educated? I went to Uppingham (West Deyne).  Sir Malcolm Campbell, Boris Karloff and Steven Fry amongst the old boys. Also my old chum 'Tricky-Dicky' Tice (Reform UK leader)....

    Nobody cares.

It's not about you........or even you trying to justify you.

Was this provided by a retail or trade/finance branch? Was it compiled as you wait or did you have to order it?

    Thanks

As said above - Pattaya Klang branch (international desk on the right).

The IO gave me that specimen and I went to K Bank on Beach Road, Jomtien (where I have an account). They said I could only get it at Pattaya Klang.

Very simple and efficient  when I got there. 200 Baht I think.

Avoid using term "bank letter" that refers to this https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=786616

Bank letter is just letter from bank that confirms you are the owner of the account and balance.

Have never seen the photocopy of the "statement" in your OP.

Kasikorn can provide you 12 months "Bank Statements" on day you apply. 200b.

Bangkok bank take few days to do the same.

Jomitien should accept 12 month bank statement showing monthly transfers from abroad.

Perhaps immigration is asking for credit advice for some transfers to show they came from abroad.

Jomtien do not accept just bank statements showing the transfers from abroad....even accompanied by WISE pdfs.

The IO in Jomtien gave me a specimen 'letter of certification'? and I had to go to Pattaya Klang branch of Kasikorn to arrange it. 200 Baht I think.

I lived in Jomtien Soi 1 from 1987 until January 2001  Had a house built from scratch

My house was alongside the Royal Jomtien Hotel's rear car park (built after I moved there) which suffered a disastrous fire in July 1997 with dozens of deaths. It was reconstructed and later reopened under a new name .  There were reports of ghosts everywhere, and on one occasion when escorting a young lass along the soi leading to my home. she stopped and refused to go any further.

My house was purchased for use as weekend guest house for Bangkok trippers.  I heard that after the first guests saw ghosts, word quickly spread, and the house was never rented out again.

In 1987 there were virtually no hotels/guest houses, shops or bars. The beach was deserted except for stray dogs

Baht buses only went to Jomtien if they had a passenger to deliver

In the early 90's a large shopping complex was built half way along Jomtien Beach Road, but despite signs announcing who had rented space, it never opened.

By the early 90's the Thais from Bangkok descended at weekends and  hotels and guest houses opened. Then came the foreign tourists followed by a few bars.

When I left in 2001, traffic was heavy. Jomtien 2nd road was partially built and condos were being built everywhere. It was then basically an extension of Pattaya

I recall when Thepprasit Road was just a dirt track from one end to the other

It seems hard to imagine that in your time there they regularly had to deliver fresh water from Pattaya. Probably electric outages as well.

    Not many Russians though?

And what do you suggest should happen to an ex president who stole classified documents from the White House, showed them to persons without security clearance, denied he had them in the first place, returned a few, denied once again that he had any, told his lawyers to deny he had any, and then when the FBI did a properly cleared search, then blamed anybody and everybody else for them being found.

Do YOU think he is a proper and responsible person, who should be president of the USA?

What we think matters not one jot.

It matters if a few more than 50% American voters think Trump is the man for the job.
