  1. Not true. My son has been a First Officer with a Thai airline for eight years and is now trying to upgrade to Captain.
  2. Yet more public money going into that money pit. THAI was listed in July 1991 at the IPO price of Bt60. The last price, before the stock was suspended in 2021, was Bt3.22. So, over 30 years, investors have lost about 95% of their investment.
  3. We've had a pool since 1996 and they are indeed a labour of love. We have a pool cleaner who comes three times a week and he's pretty good. However, there are always ongoing repairs required such as replacing pump bearings, replacing valves, repairing leaking pipes, replacing cracked/broken tiles, repairing pools lights etc.
  4. Agreed. I've had such a taser attached to my handlebars for years...very effective.
  5. I bicycle every day and have a taser attached to my handlebars. The crackling sound of the taser scares away any menacing dogs, You can buy them on Lazada. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/i5251873479-s22308415824.html?urlFlag=true&mp=1&tradePath=omItm&tradeOrderId=929912400329779&tradeOrderLineId=929912400429779&spm=spm%3Da2o42.order_details.item_title.1
  6. I has two Astra Tech implants done in Nonthaburi...Bt85,000 each,
  7. Met in 1988. I was her first boyfriend. She's never had a drink or a cigarette and is very Buddhist. Got married in 1991. We've had our moments but mutual companionship and friendship go a long way.
  8. Bangkok Will Not Flood, PM Paetongtarn Shinawatra Assures
  9. Just booked business class to Sydney. Didn't bother looking at Thai because of old fit-outs, disinterested staff and price. Booked with Singapore Airlines. OK, it takes longer, but the experience and great price offsets the longer flight time.
  10. I remember in 1997 when the BOT tried unsuccessfully to support the Baht, which almost depleted Thailand's official reserves which fell from USD39bn in Feb 1997 to USD3bn at the end of May. As a result, the BOT was forced to float the Baht and Thailand had to be bailed out by the IMF to the tune of USD17bn.

The stock price was not helped after TG311 crashed into a mountain on the approach to Kathmandu in July 1992.
  12. There are four categories under which you can apply for PR, namely Investment, Business, Work and Humanitarian Reasons. By their very nature, the first three are of benefit to Thailand. When i applied for PR, I had to have three years uninterrupted income tax returns, which means I was paying personal income tax in Thailand and was therefore bringing benefit to the country.
  13. What about Permanent Residents? Will they be exempt? I doubt it.
