"We don't want crazy people owning guns," the president added. "It's them."
So says the President who relaxed anemic gun laws so as to allow mentally ill to own guns...

"...asked authorities to change the trial date so it does not coincide with Ramadan."
Seems that could be an ideal time: no need for water breaks, coffee breaks, lunch breaks.
I think all religions are man made and essentially borderline crazy.
All for allowing "people of faith" to practice their religion, but don't expect us to stop or alter secular processes just because it doesn't fit you calendar.

Boredom is a good thing... can lead to creativity, free roaming mind, getting in touch with your real self. Not be run from like cancer.
I pity those constantly swiping right, social media addicts. I'd rather be a heroin addict....
"Sometimes I sit and think. Sometimes I just sit"
Plenty of articles about benefits of boredom. Here short bit from BBC https://www.bbc.com/ideas/videos/why-boredom-is-actually-good-for-you/p06ldhlk

At risk of sounding like clueless newbie (I'm a clueless oldie), why not just make it fee free visa for all nationalities for 15 days or less?

"...hopes of blunting their impact on U.S. holiday sales."
and who will get the profits? China. He is basically saying "forget about buying something made in USA or country other than China (isn't that the goal of tariffs?), give them your money until sated, then we'll get tough". This is a bit like banning apple picking in December, after the harvest has come in.

They've tried the carrot, now the stick. Yes it would hurt those workers... along with bosses, the ones making big bucks.
Remedy? well, article cited labor rights abuses, crack down on opposition, human rights, etc etc
Fix those and get your status back

Why would Bolton and Trump love a no deal exit? A starving person doesn't have much leverage when negotiating price of bread perhaps?

"I like to watch" Chance Gardener or PM?
Watch economy like watching wooden bridge. Maybe set up betting pool for when one and/or other will collapse

"One thing that is difficult about the retirement here is the lack of people to talk with from the USA."
I don't mind the odd run in with yanks on streets, etc, but to seek out US expats seems like a reunion of family abuse survivors....

None. I really should drink some except one of the benefits touted is that a person possibly will live long if drink in moderation. That put me right off that idea

He would want a TM29 (Final Change of Address Form) to process me, and since I won't bother filling that out, he will refuse me...
I taught special ed behavior mostly gangsters, and your mention of filling in forms reminded me of time I decided to be a bit snarky regarding "termination of services" form for student who'd been shot dead (I had more than enough of those & reaction at times similar to posts here regarding traffic deaths)
Lines like "do you think student will require community services? Which ones?" uh, funeral?
"Do you foresee student returning to school and requiring special ed services?" Maybe if Jesus does a Lazarus on him, otherwise, no
"Have you developed a transition plan with the student and appropriate agencies?" His departure was rather sudden, though not outside realm of possibility or probability, no plan was made.
Things like that
Never did hear from administration about my answers, btw

“Energy for Industries for a sustainable future”
Should do wonders for CO2 emissions. I guess air pollution and climate change don't figure into sustainability here

The Pound at 75 to the Baht.....10,666 Pounds needed for 800,000
The Pound at 65 to the Baht.....12,370 Pounds needed for 800,000
The Pound at 55 to the Baht.....14,545 Pounds needed for 800,000
The Pound at 45 to the Baht.....17,777 Pounds needed for 800,000
The Pound at 35 to the Baht.....22,857 Pounds needed for 800,000
The Pound at 30 to the Baht.....26,666 Pounds needed for 800,000
If you put the 800k worth back when 75, your 10,666 pounds are now worth 26,666 pounds. Don't know when it was 75, but seems like a decent return to pay for your next bed sit should you decide to exit from Thailand.

Video: TM30: Thailand’s controversial immigration laws and their consequences - FCCT event

The TM reminds me of my trip to Burma in 84. Besides inventorying everything of value in my bag (official exchange rate absurdly low, all official money had to be accounted for); everyone sold Johnny Walker & 555 cigs to taxi drivers for "real fun money", putting my video equipment in storage (1 week visa days...), tourists also had some form had to be filled out on where we stayed, how much paid, etc to be taken to local police for stamp.
