  1. "1. According to Wikipedia, his name was Rajneesh (not Rajaneesh) and he was also called Osho.

    2. He was a well-known and respected religious teacher called a baghwan (a guru or revered person).

    3. It is related to this news -- respected religious figure causes controversy by owning many luxury cars.

    4. When pointing out the facts, maybe more accuracy is in order."

I lived in Oregon when his group tried to takeover, started with small town of Antelope, which they renamed Rajneeshpuram. I was there when he would do his Rolls drive arounds, with his guards on all flanks armed with Uzis. I was there when his group tried to take over Hood River county by lacing salad bars with salmonella just before election day, and his "helping" the homeless by moving them there (if they were not felons, Oregon had liberal voting laws and this was a blatant attempt to takeover the county). And putting bombs, poisonous snakes etc in DAs mailbox and so on. And when they caught his henchwoman Sheila in Germany, and his fleeing back to India and changing his name. The man and all his so called spiritual enlightenment was a typical load of shit stupid people bought into. He was well known, he is not respected. "Ye shall know a tree by it's fruits" applies here, by another welcome religious personage.

It's a national embarrassment, and KFC are giving it free publicity by doing this.

I remember when McDonald's tried to sue a village store in Scotland for using the name and the Golden Arches. Maybe the logo use was wrong but the McDonalds had been in the area for centuries long before that clown Columbus and his pal Amerigo discovered America and look at the problems that caused.

It was my understanding that this was connected with head of Clan McDonald, who told them he could take away their using the name. Made me laugh

  3. At first I thought this was a faked video, or hoped so anyway. What person in their right mind would pursue someone with a samurai blade? Not this American, I guarantee! I agree there needs to be some sort of anger management taught here, and for the expats visiting or working here wouldn't be a bad idea either. Is your life worth a taxi fare? RIP and lets hope the BIB and courts actually do there job.....

  4. ""confident of success because he has a strong team of two capable deputies."A bit short on man power me thinks." He has the bat signal out looking for Batman and Robin. He turned down Lone Ranger and Tonto, I hear. If government wants to beat corruption, does that qualify as "self abuse"?

  5. You are young, go some slightly adventuresome place, like Mae Hong Son. All that luxury stuff may be fun when you are an old crippled up fart like me, but jeez, you go all this way to stay at cookie cutter luxury dumps where there are slight hints of culture in architecture and staff is about as close to reality as you will get. And all the people are just like you. Might as well stay home. Phuket is worse than Pattaya for rips offs (hard to believe). Remember my motto: "Trust no one (especially yourself), believe nothing"

  6. "Just because it's in your system doesn't mean you ever had the drug in your possession. It merely means you consumed it, big difference." Say what? Only excuse for having it in your system without having possessed it is if someone slipped it into your food or drink. That opinion makes as much sense as saying just because I am drunk doesn't prove I ever had a drink in my hand....

  7. I've lived in Bangkok two times, for a total of 5 year. I like it, but I think it is an acquired taste. I don't put much stock in magazines that specialize in travel: very different beast from actually living somewhere instead of just passing thru. "Nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there" comes to mind. Especially if you are an air breathing mammal.

  8. I never go in the water here in Jomtien, and not because of the waves. I would be safer swimming in my unflushed toilet. Here there are all sorts of Lifeguard platforms, never ever manned. Must have been built for the kickback. No money to be had patrolling for drownings, and probably not even get a tip for pulling someone from the surf.

  9. "They are already in a desperate state and should not be made to answer personal questions, which will put them in an even more uncomfortable position in front of others," Perhaps they took a page from police reenactments? If any photos are posted, they should be of the perp, not the victim. Which they shouldn't but in spite of vaunted hospitality and politeness of Thais, many in positions of power and influence are clueless.

  10. "the officers said it could be murder and robbery as some properties of Mr. Hartwig were missing" see, there are geniuses at BIB. Regarding the bleeding elephant: does it have money, connections? If so, be allowed to leave the country or some other solution. I am sure this case is a suicide. We farangs are well know for suicides with a blunt whack to back of our own heads. Happens all the time.
