Holes in Avocados and Avocado Tree Pests (sfgate.com)

You are assuming that an insect is doing the damage, but I suspect that the insects you see on the fruit are not the cause of the holes, but rather secondary opportunistic feeders attracted to the exposed tissues from what appears to be rodent or bird damage.

But without an ID or photo of the pest actually present or feeding in the wound, then we are just guessing.

Exact pest ID and treatment may not be possible or practical.  Bag the fruit as it starts to develop.

If you really want to pursue possibilities for an ID, there is a pomology department at MaeJo university ag sciences where I have received good info in the past when we lived and farmed near there, but I forget names.  CMU ag dept is also a good resource.  There was a woman PhD pomology professor who headed the HLB - citrus greening research project who was very friendly and informative when I inquired about that disease .

Take the damaged fruit itself as a sample. You may get a bit of a run around at first but if you are patient and lucky you will eventually get to see a knowledgeable, English-fluent  professor.

I set up a reply yesterday to thank you but don't see it...so, thank you for your response and advice...I had read many of your posts and was hoping you'd might chime in....my first thoughts were birds, but when I saw the insects  in 2 instances on the fruit I wasn't sure that it is bird damage...now I believe that's what it is...I'll keep my eyes tuned and may bag as you suggested...the 2 years in which I was able to enjoy mature fruit from one of the two trees was all I had hoped for- creamy and buttery taste and made great guacamole......I'll post more photos as the fruit grows larger...

The first hospital I visited was Mae On Hospital (closest to home), where they were very friendly, but also very clear about the >60 rule and the Thai first clause. The staff there know me and were very apologetic, but also very limited in their "space to move" from policy.

We then contacted Sripat to be referred to Maharaj, as Sripat will not participate the vaccination. At Maharaj, we were told that in this phase that only high risk (>60 etc.) persons are able to register.

That was also confirmed at Nakorn Ping Hospital.

Contacting Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai (just to cover all bases), we were informed that there is currently neither a plan nor a waiting list for "private" vaccination, next to the government's rollout plan.

Any hospital taken the lead is purely speculative in my opinion, as we don't know from whom and at which level, national policies are translated into provincial/regional tactics.

I must say though, that everybody we have spoken to has been very kind and understanding of the situation and helpful. Our local Mae On Hospital has offered to call us directly as soon as there is a change and we can register.

I'm over 60 with underlying conditions.  My wife, who had already booked herself her vaccination appointment for early June, called Nakornping to register me and they told her no expats could register there until after 1 June.

Here some news of Moderna vaccine from Canada.

    And it ain't good ...

"During the public health pandemic, the Lytton doctors have not treated any patients with COVID-19, Hoffe said. “So in our limited experience, this vaccine is quite clearly more dangerous than COVID-19.”

This is not a credible news source. The Media Bias/ Fact Check site rates Life Site as a “Questionable Source”.

“We rate LifeSiteNews far right biased for story selection that always favors evangelical Christianity and Questionable based on the promotion of conspiracy theories, pseudoscience, and many failed fact checks”.

  4. On Thursday 18 Mar my wife & I went to CMI to apply for my annual extension of stay based on marriage.  My current EOS expires on 21 April.  This would be the second time for EOS based on marriage, after the previous 8 years obtaining my EOS based on retirement (we decided last year to use our 25+ years of marriage as being a less restrictive and onerous task).

We arrived at 1015, and I walked through the door to get in line to obtain a que number from the Information Desk.  No one outside the front door stopped me to pre-check my documents as was the case last year.

We received que number TF011, with que number TF006 being the current applicant in process.

At 1130, while applicant TF009 was being processed, que numbers TF010 and above were told to come back to be processed after 1300. So from 0830 to 1130, an average of only 3 Thai Family per hour were processed.

Returning at 1300, we were called to window 6 at 1340.  They would not accept my passport copies of 1 passport page per sheet, stating it had to be 2 passport pages per sheet, and orientated near the top of the sheet to leave room for my signature, and their stamp, so we had to go to the copy shop to redo the passport pages.

Corrected passport photocopies led to being called to sit for the “interview” with the IO, which was completed quickly and without any other issues.

I paid the 1900B fee, my passport was dutifully stamped as “Under Consideration” until 21 May (30 days after my current EOS expires) and to return then to obtain my new extension of stay stamp (which shall be to 21 April 2022).

We finally were out the door at 1500- 4 ½ hours after our visit began.

File as soon ad you can. Note the Senate’s bill changed some elements of the House bill that the Senate voted upon so the Senate’s version goes back to the House for their approval. If the House votes in favor then it goes to President Biden for signature.

Still should expect the third stimulus for eligible people to see direct deposits by the end of March

On 25 Feb I filed my 2020 tax return using OLT. Even tho I had no tax overpayment so no refund, the software included the opportunity to input my direct deposit info in the event of future stimulus payments. I included my banking information on my Form 1040. Today I checked the IRS “Where’s My Payment” webpage, delighted that the latest/3rd stimulus payment is scheduled for direct deposit 17 March. It paid off to file my 2020 tax return as soon as I was in a position to.

Charged an extra €1200 on an international move.

Yeah. You already indicated that there was an overcharge in your original post but still haven’t provided the full story to substantiate their wrongdoing. Can’t believe what you allege without getting the facts

Seen some recommendations to file 2020 as early as possible, but for most it probably won't make much difference.

in an email received today from my tax SW provider...

Filing now could be a smart move.
While lawmakers are currently negotiating another round of COVID-19 relief aid, you might wonder what a potential 3rd stimulus payment could mean for your tax return.
If it passes, a 3rd stimulus check could be arriving as soon as the next few weeks. It would likely be based on the income you reported on your most recent tax return, and whether or not it passes, the sooner you file, the sooner you'll get your tax refund this year.
Some life changes in 2020 may qualify you for a larger stimulus check.

If you made less money in 2020 than you did in 2019, you might be eligible for a larger payment. Filing now ensures that the IRS will use your lower 2020 income to calculate your qualifying stimulus amount

If you have a new qualifying dependent (e.g. you had a baby or adopted a child in 2020), you will likely qualify for additional money from the IRS. The current proposed bill includes $1,400 per qualifying individual and each of their dependents.

Filing your 2020 return ensures that the IRS accounts for all your eligible dependents when calculating the potential upcoming stimulus payment. Plus, when you file with TaxAct®, we'll also help you check to make sure you didn't miss out on additional money owed to you from the previous two stimulus payments.

This potentially amounts to an additional $500 on your first stimulus payment, and an extra $600 on your second stimulus payment due to your new dependent.

If you got stim #1, stim#2 then you'll get stim #3, by "get" I mean receive (dirdep, check, PPcard) if eligible.

Payment is said to be disbursed by the end of the month, so not sure how quickly one can file? I guess if you're ready now, maybe go ahead and eFile.

The Chase app does not demand Location access?

I assume you keep a USA phone #.

    ?

Similarly, I maintain an account with the credit union I enrolled in while I was still working/living in Seattle...I am able to continue having the account, depositing pension and social security payments directly, as well as paying bills and daily expenses with the VISA card I have as well.  I also have the benefit of the mobile app to deposit the occasional Treasury check when they disregard my direct deposit info I have had on my tax returns for the last 15 years. My address with the credit union is my Chiang Mai address and no requirement to have a US address or telephone number.

"Always expect the unexpected"...Did  my latest 90 report at the Prom this week..and now appears that you have to Provide your GPS house location on the TM47.. Not a problem since khun wife has a new smart 5 g and with the immigration officers assistance quickly located it on google. Only needed said TM and passport... "in and out" in a couple of minutes. Always find Prom so easy...parking...update BB books/accounts...coffee in Chi Ching...look into "lin-ping" buy some electrical stuff in Mr DIY... quiet and unrushed...nice..

Armed with that GPS heads up, I prepared the TM47 for the Prom 90 day report, and recorded the coord on the back for my use so  if I was asked for it I would then write it on the front. The falang at the door checked my TM47, said I needed to write my house coord on the form and I told him it was on the back side.  He gave me a que no. and I walked in.  No other visitors were there.  The intern behind the 90 day desk took my passport and TM47, never looking at the back of the form nor asking me to write the coord on the TM47.  She processed my report and returned my passport with the new 90 day slip.....out the door....

Non immigrant O visa can be used for either.

Medical insurance only required for O-A visa entry extensions.

Marriage under consideration for 30 days.

Medical insurance only required for O-A visa entry extensions based on retirement   Can do OA extensions based on marriage and no insurance is required even when your original OA visa was based on retirement. I switched my extensions basis from retirement to marriage last year to avoid the medical insurance.

90% of the rejections while others are successful are due to incorrect data input.  So try a new approach, stop blaming the system, figure out how to make it work, stop telling yourself you are doing it right and doing the same thing over and over and over, look for where you can do it differently and test.  10 to 1 you have been making an input error.

    vpn off?

Look at your <deleted>. “90 percent rejections” and “10 to 1 “ reveals  you did not read my details nor have ANY factual info to substantiate your “data”. Just shut up
