  1. I contacted Thonburi Health Group to request confirmation that mine and my wife’s prepaid “reservation” for the Moderna vaccine was included in their “allotment”. After a little give and take this was their response which gives me confidence we will get the Moderna shots when it arrives:

“As we already informed, the vaccine is expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter according to GPO.  Your payment is for this lot of vaccine.

The inoculation date depends on the timing when the vaccine is delivered.”

  2. At this moment the prohibition of domestic flights begins Tuesday at midnight...so from Wednesday on the domestic flights are banned..you can still fly today and tomorrow for those that might want/need to

Hey!!!  That's no fair!!!  I was first!!!  LOL...just kidding Hahahaha!  Congrats!

Hey, by the way, you can change the size of your attachments by just double clicking on them in edit mode, and sizing them down.  Very simple to do but you need to do it before edit mode locks up.  Just thought you might like to know that.

You're going to love this next event...note I live in Chiang Mai and will fly to Bangkok next week for the vaccine appointment.

On the day of receiving my SMS confirmation for the inoculation for 22 July, I booked a non-refundable 2 night stay at "Hotel A" off of Sukhumvit.  Within one hour of my booking confirmation, "Hotel A" sent me an email to advise me that they had “transferred” my reservation to a sister property "Hotel B".  Now both Hotels A & B are 4 and 5 star, great reviews, etc...

The email from "Hotel A" about their transfer of my reservation stated "To make sure that customers stay in healthy environment. All bookings from "Hotel A" will be complimentary relocated and upgrade to Hotel B (5 star)…At Hotel B, we provide “HOTEL WE CARE + Program with SHA Certificate Thailand (Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration)” as a basic protective measures against the expo sure to and transmission of the circumstance.”

This morning there was this news about "Hotel B" concerning a party held the night of 22July at the hotel...

Why on earth should we hear any more about it?! It's just a pretty normal gathering of grown folks enjoying a birthday bash, albeit during covid times when they shouldn't have been gathering in a group of more than 5.

    Non-story - move on!

Quite a bit more of a non-story as far as I’m concerned.  On Thursday morning 15 July, I booked a non-refundable 2 night stay at another “S” hotel 8 blocks away. Within one hour of my booking confirmation, that other “S” hotel sent me an email to advise me that they had “transferred” my reservation to S31; to wit: “Therefore to make sure that customers stay in healthy environment. All bookings from S15 Sukhumvit Hotel will be complimentary relocated and upgrade to S31 Sukhumvit Hotel (5 star)…At S31 Sukhumvit Hotel, we provide “S HOTEL WE CARE + Program with SHA Certificate Thailand (Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration)” as a basic protective measures against the expo sure to and transmission of the circumstance.”

That email from the “S” hotel that had accepted my reservation and non-refundable payment included the assurance that the reservation at S31 could be cancelled and payment would be refunded if the client desired. I called the original “S” hotel to cancel my reservation and refund my payment; they directed me to contact S31. I did, and the attendant said that she would have “Reservations”department call me back. That was 6 hours ago and no one has called. I did cancel the reservation online, but the confirmation of the cancellation still stated the payment was non-refundable. I’m not concerned about that bit- I’ll have my credit card company refuse making payment.

  5. Email from US Embassy received minutes ago today, Saturday 0830am.  No info on vaccine type or number of slots for the 4PM start of inoculations....note the Australian Embassy announced yesterday their same "Thai Government opportunity" with AZ identified as the vaccine and their shots at 1PM.  Canadian Embassy did a similar announcement yesterday as well.

  6. I think you’re confusing registration with vaccine appointment. First you register (Photos 1 & 2). You register using your passport or pink ID if u have one.

Successful registration results in a special 13-digit ID, which THAT is used to check your appointment status. If you try to input your passport number and not the Wall’s 13-digit ID (Photo 3 ) you get Photo 4.

You’re supposed to get your notification of your appointment date and time from either an SMS or email per the Wall site.

Once you have an appointment you will also see that when you look up your status using your 13-digit Wall ID.  UNTIL YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT, when you look up your status the message it will always be “Your vaccine is not available now” (Photo 5).  That message appears below your name, que number, and vaccine type you registered for.

Initially it was supposed to be 10m a month. But these were the figures being put out by Prayut's government. We have no idea what the actual agreement was with AZ, or what the actual capacity of SBS is/was. Prayut was hell-bent on selling an "opening Thailand by October" plan to the Thai public. A sub text was 61m by the end of the year, which also was calculated using the 10m per month schedule. If that's cut in half, it will take an extra 6 months into 2022 to reach that target at 5m a month.

That's why the mad scramble to beef up the numbers with Sinopharm, Pfizer and Moderna. Plus, there are others coming on stream.

I believe June was the initial rollout so at 10M per month then by the end of November 61M doses was the end of the "timeline". If they are required to reserve 40% of the output for Thailand, then it's 4M/mo which takes 15 months to complete 61M.  That's til the end Aug 2022- 8 months into next year.  Not quibbling.  Thanks for your insight....

I registered on CM Wall the day registrations opened and I've had my first jab. Have you been back into CM Wall and selected the link to check your registration?  If your registration was successful then the date, time & hospital for your appointment will be displayed. Hopefully you haven't missed your appointment.

I registered on CM Wall 2 June. I’ve checked almost everyday since. No appointment yet at all. Just “Your vaccine is not available now”. And I’m over 60 years old with a heart condition.  Registration does not guarantee an appointment

  9. I’m at a loss to understand this mess. If AZ is asking to “extend the timeline to deliver 61 million doses to Thailand” what was the original timeline?  If SBS is currently producing 10 million doses/mo and 40% of that production stays in Thailand, then at 4 million doses produced per month for Thailand, its overall commitment would take 15 months to complete and now they want 5 additional months to deliver- 20 months total?

Three weeks after the governor of Chiang Mai announced every foreigner and Thaii  would. be vaccinated within a month,  The Chiangmai provincial Public Health office had its app up and running on the web. Yes, we’ve had to tweak it several times, but all in all it was no small feat to accomplish that. For the occasional foreigner who may have trouble registering, we usually tend to their problem within 24 hours. Unfortunately, the majority of our emails that we get Are requesting or demanding that they be given an appointment for a vaccine that we do not have in supply.  Unfortunately, Chiang Mai is a victim of our own success and because we have kept our case numbers so low, much more of the vaccine has been dedicated to those areas such as Phuket and Bangkok and provinces with high numbers.

It took 3 weeks after the government announced everyone would be vaccinated within the next 4 weeks to get a web registration tool up any running?  An the government making that assurance when they did NOT have, knowingly, the vaccines in hand to meet their announced commitment?

There's no success then and no success now.

But getting right back on topic, there's, "And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country."

Yeah, My "what I did for my country" was to faithfully pay my taxes, which then facilitated my country's ability to pay manufacturers to produce vaccines for my country; which my country then disseminated those vaccines I helped to pay for to other countries free of charge, and without care or provisions for those of us in these other countries, who paid for it!!!

Damn right I have the right to ask what "my country SHOULD DO" for its' citizens.

Thailand preparing to limit exports of its COVID-19 vaccine

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/thailand-preparing-limit-exports-covid-130745277.html

Their factory has only been able to make 5---6 mil doses a month, far below the 10 mil  a month they were supposed to make for domestic use.  They will have to stop exporting to other countries.

I can't believe that they've been able to make 5 or 6 or 1 or 2 million a month as after late June they announced they would deliver 1.4 million doses to make a June/July total of 6 million, I've not seen clear facts as to what they have delivered- and where- so far this month.  If you have that info, please share...thanks.

    Still with the “alleged” line

why would I, and others who used that website to register, make the whole thing up?

the expat culture here is just bizarre

Who others? Where in this thread have they posted that they had the same success doing exactly the same as you claim? This posting is replete with factual specifics by many people who have tried to register and been turned away; or registered and then saw the vaccine expectation disappear into no result; or have registered weeks and weeks ago and still wait for an appointment.

You choose to ignore these experiences believing you, and you alone, command some sort of truth.  Ignorance is bliss- and you are one blissful denier....

For those Americans threatening to go back for a jab, am I missing something or didn't you read about the USA donating 1.3 million doses of Pfizer vaccine to Thailand with the stipulation 300k be reserved for US citizens and other foreigners? So you might want to want until the end of July when the shipment  is scheduled to be delivered. Or not, up to you.

Go to the US Embassy website.  The donation had 0 preconditions tied to its gift. No requirement to give US citizens any of it

I can't seem to edit my post to add a link to the information about the Pfizer vaccines, but here is one from this site:

Twenty percent of donated Pfizer vaccines from US must go to foreigners living in Thailand, says CCSA general - Thailand News - ASEAN NOW formerly Thai Visa Forum

I think someone else mentioned it as well. But since I spent hours looking, I wanted to post it as well. The article references ThaiPBS, but I also thought I saw it mentioned in a number of outlets.

The CCSA has said a lot. A lot of contradictory, non-verifiable and ever changing statements. History tells me it is not believable and even if if might be, the CCSA will never provide proof of who ultimately receives the US donation.  The US donated the Pfizer without any conditions.

It's bizarre.  I just looked again, the remark is still there with an aditional explanation. Looks like they are trying to distance themselves from the authorities (Anutin?)

*Remark: Phyathai 2 Hospital is only serving as a vaccination service center to assist the government in ensuring that the population is inoculated; we are inclined to follow the guidelines set forth by the authorities. The quota of the vaccine is limited to 100 persons per day which the government allocates to us and only people who provide complete information and receive the SMS will be eligible to receive the vaccine.

Translation. 1) Not our fault, 2) we follow govt orders, 3) the govt set this ridiculous number.

BS Phayathai.  So you were directed to publicize your hospital as a registration center for 5 days, from 12-16 July, between the hours of 0900-1200; but at 0900 on the appointed first day and time NOT to post the link to sign up and DO NOT post the link to around 0923?  And then shut the whole damn registration process as soon as, and no later than, when 100 people did register successfully?  You were so inclined in all of your pre-registration publicity NOT TO also announce only 100 vaccines could be subscribed each day for each of the 5 days?  You were directed NOT TO accept/collect ALL the registrations submitted in order to HAVE THAT info in hand when greater amounts of vaccines become available?  You were directed to set up the Google form with, in some cases, only fields with Thai language identifying the information the expat is required to provide (s.a. email address)?  You want to explain how Phayathai Hospital, and the Government, is "ensuring that the population is inoculated" when all of you do nothing and everything to do exactly the opposite?????
