I have a contact in the UK who works for a private aviation company, as a sideline they undertake restoration work on old aircraft, either for static displays or right up to full flying status. (Their latest project is a very rare 2 seat Hurricane believed to be 1 of only 2 built) at the moment located in Iran.
They are looking for any WWII aircraft that maybe over here & available for purchase. Any model & any condition will be given consideration.
So I am looking for anyone who has knowledge of any aircraft "holed" up in a hangar somewhere, or left in a corner of a field as a "chicken coup"
Or does any one know of someone who knows someone or a society that knows of anything available.
Thanks..

We can all guess the outcome of that investigation.. if it ever happened. would be something like this:
Yingluk
(Q) Has any one done anything corrupt ??
(A) No
Yingluk.. investigation carried out in a fair & transparent manner.. no corruption.
Next question.

Almost everyone knew this was going to be a farce from the outset.. only 3 bidders from 3 well established broadcasters say's it all.
Should have done all this before the bids were allowed to go through but hey ho that's not the Thai way !!
So it will take another 6 months to draw up new auction terms, at least it will be fair & square for all bidders to put a package together & compete on a level playing field.
Should have been done this way in the first place & then all this fiasco could have ben avoided.

Give China a couple of years to complete the build of their new factories in Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam & Cambodia & all the Thai slave labour will have gone home.
This in conjunction with Japanese firms building new car plants over here who will want to work all day on a building site in the baking sun for a miserable Bt300.. not any Thai folks !!
Solve that one Yingluk !!

The problem with Thai politics is Thai culture, & the problem with Thai culture is Thai politics !!
It's a never ending cycle that I fear will never be resolved, it is ingrained too deep to be eradicated, until that is someone with the resolve & true will to lead Thailand out of the depths of old style dynasty leadership & corruption comes along.
That ain't gonna happen anytime soon.

This is typical Thailand, wait for a disaster to happen then try to deal with the consequences.
For a country that boasts to world leaders that it is ready to be an up & coming Asian leader it is sadly lacking in expertise in certain areas of government. The lack of foresight to predict the outcome of measurable statistics that it is already aware of is abominable, to neglect to do anything about it in the form of prevention is worse, it's dereliction of duty.
The governments present course of placing family, friends & colleagues within the most influential post's by way of a reward for loyalty will come back to haunt the government, slowly but surely in all areas of governance the country is slipping backwards into the last century, from which it has only just emerged.
Just one year after taking power form the opposition the major players are still filling their pockets with the spoils of victory, instead of carrying out their promises of making a great nation for all & to lift the poor out of depression.
The farmers who the government need so badly for support are the ones who will ultimately suffer the most with floods & drought. Next year when they have been unable to make enough money to live on due to little or no crops to sell, the price pledging scheme will bring no benefits for them, what will the governments plan be then to win them over.
The city elite will survive a flood protected by barriers, a drought will have little daily impact just another news item, sure food & water etc will rise in price at the shops but they have the money to spend, it is the majority of farmers in the northern regions who will turn their attention to the government for a solution or another quick fix bail out scheme.. that's then the fun will begin !!

The police estimate that 20,000 objectors attended the rally.
However they called upon 17,000 police for crowd control & boosted that number by another 5,700 thus making 22,700 in total, but they had to use tear gas when things started to turn ugly ???

Prevented from leaving their villages in accordance with instructions given to their village heads, scrutinized at checkpoints by police located on major roads, then checked again before entering Bangkok.. but the "Reds" will have the freedom of movement to descend on Bangkok within moments should the need arise.
Democracy at it's lowest level.. more like a dictatorship in action.

As transparent as mud !!
Outside bidders are obviously not welcome & given no time to put a portfolio together.
Who will do what has already been agreed with the deals being done under the table with the usual appropriate handshake.
T.I.T in true form showing it's real colours.

Little girls & boy's playing in the harsh political man's world..
She can convince the Thai population some of the time but on the world stage no-one is taken in by the sweet Thai face.
It takes substance to win over the world not foundation cream!

Just another step in China's wish to dominate the pacific region, it has no real interest in Thailand itself other than being another market place to sell it's fake goods, however a high speed railway eventually linked to China will allow the Chinese to invade Thailand & bordering countries faster than the present road links. If Yingluk thought that Thailand had something of interest for China then she's very much mistaken.

China got a foot in the door with Thailand years ago, it's now just a case of revisiting it's old haunts to reaffirm it's presence, a bit like a dog peeing up a lamp post, just letting the neighbourhood (Americans) know they're still around !!
China is stealthy spreading it's wealth around the pacific region, buying up the bordering nations like Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Philippines, soon Myanmar will follow, it's also heavily invested in a future plan on Jeju island south of Korea, reaching south east to the pacific islands such as Papua New Guinea etc. Not to mention buying up vast amounts of land in Australia & mineral mines in Africa.
China is now slowly taking over the entire pacific area in the same way it reached every country in Europe over the last 30 years or so.
China's game plan is simple, it will soon not only be number one in the world it will one way or another own the world!

No till receipts = corruption.. cash sales are a disaster & recipe for self indulgence.
Just for reference: I am a Thai resident with drivers licence ID etc etc..
I was taken to a zoo in Nakhon Pathom last year as a Thai friend had a Birthday, upon entering I was asked to pay 500bt for an entrance fee which was 100bt for locals, the difference in admission was clearly displayed on the price board at the kiosk, when I said I was a resident & not a tourist I was informed otherwise & told to pay the higher price. Even when I displayed my ID I was told to pay or go away, my hosts were horrified & tried to defend me saying I was a resident & their guest, the manager turned up and made things worse, starting a verbal exchange with the whole party.
He wouldn't even look at my ID saying I was a "farang" & that was that !
My host's decided to leave the zoo & told the manager what they thought of him & his facility, not far away is a "life museum" so we decided to give that a go, same story, 50bt entry for locals & 100bt for me ID or not !
They also got the middle finger by my hosts who by now were starting to understand the life of a "farang" in the Land of Smiles !!
We decided to give the parks a miss & found a great restaurant on the edge of a ski lake & had a great afternoon instead..

It's more of a question of affordability, rather than out & out corruption.
Corruption in the true sense is when you try to sell the item swearing till your blue in the face that it's the "real deal"
Thais in the majority who are on a moderate to low income can only afford fake goods when talking about showing off a top label, so to are the "visiting farangs" who are just bargain hunting for an even lower price, fakes are part of Thai culture, until wages equal fashion prices then fakes will be prevalent.
You can't always blame China or other neighbouring countries either for forcing their goods over the border, in most cases you will find Thai business owners selling their fake goods to Thai consumers, both fully aware that they are fake.
Price dictates all in Thailand.

6 Tacos, if she has the same liking for Pizza's & burgers I don't think she will be 49Kilos for long.
But I agree, my wife after 10 years of marriage is still the same weight as when we met, 45 kilo's wringing wet.
And I have slipped her the odd wormer just to check, but I gave up competing with her a long time ago, trouble is she hates eating alone.

Sad to hear, I didn't know the guy but I have a lifetime in the aviation industry so it's always sad to hear of these accidents.
Microlights should be safe enough even when the engine cuts, after-all it' s a hang glider with an engine, so should still have almost full control.
I think he did the right thing in getting close to the shoreline to ditch, but as with all things maybe the wind direction or height etc was against him.
Sounds like he almost got to a safe area but in the final moments clipped the pier which he obviously didn't want to do.
As with all types of aircraft, landings are all "controlled crashes"
My condolences to all concerned.

My debit card for a UK bank account recently expired, waiting for the new one to arrive it soon became obvious that something was up as the date was now well passed the expiry of the card.
I contacted the bank & they said a new one had automatically been sent 1 month before the expiry date, this I immediately cancelled & another new one was requested, this didn't arrive either, so a couple of months later, again after many calls to UK it transpired that the bank sent a request to the issuing office to manufacture & send a card. However after a few more calls to different people at the issuing branch I was finally informed that Thailand is on a black list & it will not send anything like a debit/credit card via the postal system to Thailand.
In the end I had to have the card delivered to my account holding branch in the UK, have a designated person pick it up from there with passport identification, they then posted it to me with a tracking system, but the bank said it wouldn't cover any transactions on this card if I claimed them to be fraudulent.

I am amazed ! my ghast has never been so flabbered that someone would actually take time to type and to start a thread and whinge about 10 or 12 baht over a few weeks ???? <deleted> is that all about, are things really that tight you have to watch the price of <<Snip!>> eggs ?? get a life man ! its no wonder so many of us turn to drink !!!.........unbelievable !....but about what you would EGGspect.
No need to be quite so rude Mr. CharlieH. I wasn't whinging about the price, just asking a straight forward question as to why the increase.
If my post caused you such grief then you could have easily passed it by, but you are obviously sadder than me in that you felt compelled to waste YOUR time by making a reply, dear sir you need to GET A LIFE or by the tone of your reply some sedation at the very least !

I don't miss a lot from my home country UK but cheese I must admit is one thing I do dream of.
In my province real cheese is nowhere to be found, a bit like farangs which is probably the reason.
Even my local Big C stocks only the plastic squares of the processed cr@p.
No hard or soft cheeses to be found any where!
Luckily I have a German friend who comes over twice a year & brings me supplies.

Well I guess you could say that the answer in monetary terms is if you have 1 baht left in your arse pocket after buying everything you want then you could be classed as rich.
However if you mean to compare how much more you've got left over than the next person after buying everything then you could go on for ever.
But that's talking rich in monetary terms, I know plenty of people (thankfully) on a moderate income who are richer than the wealthiest people alive!

The federal reserve in America is currently in QE3 (full print mode) and the BoT needs to keep up in order to keep their prefered exchange rate. All this excess liquidity is going to drive the price up on just about everything, eggs are just the tip of the iceberg.
buy gold...
Golden eggs, that's all I need !! Now I have to re calibrate my egg timer.. how long do you boil those "buggers" for ?
