T.I.T..... Logic doesn't apply!!!!!!
Don't try to make sense of the law.. it doesn't exist here, just take another paracetamol & keep your head down.

Forward thinking by Thailands Former prime minister Tanin Krivixian..
Already semi surrounded by concrete flood barriers let them have the expo to raise funds ( & his retirement plan) then finish the barriers & have a nice new reservoir.. topped up every year by mother nature!!
Great thinking ..

Does this really represent the wishes of the electorate, and is it in the best interests of the Nation and the advancement of democracy? Who will benefit?
The ruling party say's YES.. this is in the best interest of the country & should be on the wish list of all the electorate, if not you don't know what's good for you so they will decide for you!!

Hope they traveled by sanitised transport!!

In the wake of the spread of HFMD, Witthaya called for hygiene campaigns to be implemented beyond schools and nurseries.
"I have ordered that public buses, subway cars, Skytrain carriages, taxis and train stations be cleaned too," he said.
Is that a "once only quick wipe" for appearance sake or a continuous daily routine" ??

Oooop's a little mistake on the CV, bet he's not the only one!
But hey ho if found guilty he can always abscond for 6 years then ask for a full pardon & his position back.

After a meeting yesterday, the Education Ministry agreed to conduct a sixpoint campaign at primary schools across the country, while the Culture Ministry, which regulates Internet cafes, will oversee sanitary measures at all outlets.
"Normal adults should probably not contract HFMD, other than those with defective immunity [systems] or whose hygiene is lacking," he said.
That's Thailand in deep s**t then.. how many Thai's can you see running to the nearest shop to buy a clean cloth & disinfectant !!
My local street vendor uses the same "old t-shirt" & bowl of cold water to wipe down all his surfaces & his cooking utensils.. followed by his hands before asking you "what would you like to eat"
hence I stopped eating at his place years ago.. after I had a word with him.. but he still does the same !!
I'm surprised Thailand is as free from epidemics as it is or are Thais just more immune to all things??

All this from the very man who filled his pockets with the countries wealth and then ran for the hills when found out.
He boasts of "this is the only way to true reconciliation" to forgive!!
Lets not forget, this is a man found guilty & prosecuted of a crime committed within his own country by a court of law elected to uphold the law of the land.
A man who is such a coward that he fled his own country in self imposed exile to escape his punishment.
A man who still try's to influence the government, his family & so called loyal followers from afar to change the law to allow him to come back, not creep in the back door but boldly through the front entrance like some hero returning from battle.
The only way he should be allowed back into Thailand is to serve his full sentence like any other convicted criminal & even then after being released from prison given a lifetime ban from holding any political position.
Why should he be pardoned for committing such a crime when the man on the street is not given such privileges, he talks of forgiveness..
He should go down on his knees before the people & beg for their forgiveness for his crimes against the country & monarchy..
Is it not a crime in this corrupt country for politicians to have contact with convicted criminals who have evaded the law?
They should send out a clear message to ignore him or be prosecuted themselves for having any involvement with him & also ask foreign countries to do likewise.
After all he is a convicted criminal on the run!!

Previous PM's, Yingluck & company directors should all hang their heads in shame, this corruption is now so deeply embedded that it would be almost impossible to eradicate from within it's own government offices with their own personnel.
It's now a way of life & the only way business can be done in Thailand.
30-35% for a graft to win a contract is absolutely ridiculous and just shows that politicians & government appointed officials are the worst of the lot.
Unhindered by law enforcement for so many years it has now reached these embarrassing levels. Levels which will have an adverse effect on the government, millions of Baht which should be used for the good of the people is being pocketed by the rich.
Just think how many hospitals, schools, public service utilities that money could be used for, how many communities are screaming out for help for basic services & are refused because "we don't have the funds"
Only an independent body of people could turn this around, a body of people who are above the approach from the influences of these corrupt officials.
People who have the courage to carry out their work & unmask these officials so that Thailand can at last see who is indeed worthy of their vote.
And let them see who is using their vote to gain a position for their own gains, only interested in their own personal greed & status.
The body should have the full support from the courts of the land, be swiftly dealt with & placed behind bars, not only that but have their ill-gotten gains confiscated & returned to where it belongs.
Only prosecution for these illegal dealings with the open & full support from the prime minister will it be eradicated.
But it is so deeply embedded in this country, from the very top to the very bottom who in this ocean of corruption is willing or indeed able to step up to the mark & carry out such a task.

The "fit for purpose" question is never investigated in Thailand prior to purchase, only the final price after all backhanders have been divvied out..
As for the price of a soldiers life.. not a lot!!

Just departed thru the airport a few days ago and no problems leaving, thru immigration in about 15 min.., we where a bit late departing but the airplane arrived late. When I arrived from the Philippines earlier thru immigration in about 20 min no hassle. In the end all you can use to measure the airports performance is your own experience.
Yeah lets see how it impacts you... All the things they say about the airport are true of course but at the end of the day passengers care mostly about the experience. I frequently fly between SFO from San Franciscos relatively new international terminal to BKK. BKK compares favorably: Less wait for luggage, MUCH less wait for immigration, MUCH friendlier immigration officials, better services re food and shopping on departure. In Fact BKK wins over SFO in pretty much any category you choose to look at.
Better than Swampy are Changi, Incheon, maybe HKIA. But all these are internatioal airports that are known to be near the top of the list. BKK is not the best airport in the world - they had the chance to do that, but screwed up thanks to all the problems mentioned in the article, mainly corruption of course. But BKK isn't the worst either.
And its the only airport I have ever arrived on in an international flight where I went from the airplane into a taxi in 15 Minutes. I know its not always that fast but it can be..
That may well be true on a good day, but when things go wrong on a bad day you can do the airplane into an ambulance in a lot less than that

So how fast can the PTP get a referendum together, to put to the people?
Just as soon as the PTP can get funds north to buy the votes needed to pass the "peoples" referendum.
-
That's nice, Yingluk, Thaksin & Hillary all present together.. I wonder how many new passports/visa's will be swapping hands along with hug's & kisses.
-
So wouldn't it be in the PTP's & countries best interests if they dropped the internal personal politics that they are pursuing at the moment & concentrated on actually running the country as so called elected leaders.
Or is this latest "doom & gloom" forecast from the Thai chamber of commerce just another thinly veiled dig at the judiciary system to coerce it into a favourable outcome.
Thai politicians sometimes forget that in this day & age of technology the whole world is privy to what is going on, it's about time whoever is in charge or opposition put aside their personal gains & actually started to take care of Thailand & it's people who for too long now have suffered at the hands of it's so called benefactors.

Exactly what sacrifices did the Thaksin family make during this time??
The poor became poorer by making the biggest cuts in everyday life, while the rich made off with all the profits that should have gone to the people of Thailand, not the just the pockets of the elite.

I can smell a rat again, BT350 billion up for grabs !!
Every man & his uncle will be submitting plans for this contract.
Just think how many new mansions, land & shiny new cars that money can buy!!

Is this another one of those buyer beware things? Meaning if you get sick or die, its your fault
because you had a choice of not using these products.
Kind of like getting on a bus or a boat and being injured or killed. it was your choice, so its your fault, as a few TV posters always argue.
The other question I have. Why is Thailand alowing these chemicals to be used when so many developed, developing and 3rd world countries have banned them, for there danger?
Easy answer.. Thailand is a country where the people who spray these chemicals have absolutely no regard for the effects they may be inflicting on the consumers, they only look at the benefits that they may reap at the markets where they try to sell their goods.
I have even seen vegetables sold by a farmer under the guise of "organic produce" from land that was under a metre of flood water up until early this year, god only knows what was in the water or what effect it would have on anyone who consumed the produce, he couldn't give a dam_n as he walked away with a huge smile & a good deal !!
Thailand is a country where early mortality is an acceptable form of death & any investigation or bad publicity which would only cause grief to those who are trying to make an dis-honest living is NOT acceptable !!
Ohhhh purely a personal opinion Thailand should be ranked as below a third world country..

Millions of Thai Baht is wasted every year, the money supposedly being pumped into the Thai agricultural sector by a government which is unfortunately run by corrupt officials & local land owners.
Yet again another shining example of corruption, money mis-appropriated & pocketed on the way to the farmers who are crying out to be funded to be dragged into the modern world.
How many hands does the money pass through to get to the farmer, only to find the amount he ends up with wouldn't feed his OX..
Better to hold the money in a farmers co-operative type bank, where the farmer can directly apply for funds according to his needs with a business plan of what he is growing/selling & how he intends to repay the loan.
The co-operative can also fund investment in how to become more productive with information now readily availableworldwide regarding rice types, climates changes, soil types & natural fertilizers.
Keep the money out of the pockets of the middlemen & make sure it is wisely invested by those who would only deliver directly to the farmers who need the machinery & technology to become equal in the 21st century with neighbouring Asean competitors.
A farmer toiling behind his Ox & wooden plough preparing the paddy may look good on a picture postcard, sowing rice by hand should be a thing of the past only seen in those quaint tourist attraction videos of "traditional Thailand" & as for rows of workers harvesting the crops by hand will only see Thai agriculture become a thing of the past & it's export market destined to become zero.
How can an Ox compete with a modern tractor, it's time again for Thailand to wake up to the "Big" picture & not just the few to line their pockets with a quick buck now but invest in the future.. but isn't that Thailands trouble, the mentality of those that have their hands on the money but not their hands in the soil !!

"A total of 159 public toilets across the country have been honoured as good examples."
How do you honour a bog? .....

Yingluck has been invited to the council meeting by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton..
I wonder if that will include a little 1on1 meeting to clarify just what her duty to Thailand might actually be ??
-
Perhaps....... in the vain of reconciliation, the spirit of working together and finally taking overall consideration of others into play, the esteemed court, could be so kind as to inquire as to when her importantness will be available and back in Thailand as to be able to be in attendance , and then the court would make the announcement at this much more convenient time.
After all we all know how much she would want to be in attendance.
I think just a nice re conciliatory type of gesture on the part of the court.
1. The court should remain independant and it should be seen to be independant.
2, Given her track record, seems to me she will ensure she is abent on whatever date they hand down their verdict.
3. Sorry can't agree at all that the court should be making 'reconciliatory' gestures. In fact IMHO 'reconciliation' as espoused by the pt, udd, reds etc is a smokscreen for whitewash of one man. In relaity what would get the wonderful country back on a healthy road it toal respect for the law and the processes of the law.
He was joking.
RE quote 2)
Absence seems to be the the family trait.. wasn't her brother also abroad when the court handed down his verdict ??
