Agree, I haven't dived there many times but great for the small stuff if you take your time and look closely.

I used to go every week, sometimes more. Less and less every year to see. Have you ever seen the view after heavy rain. I live on the hill and you can see the whole area, the amount of silt covering that area, no wonder.

Having been diving at this divesite for 20+ years now, I can reliably tell you it was and is a really cute little site, with lots of juvenile life, many fish and some really nice corals. Macro heaven.

Your post is uninformed and sad.

I used to live on The Great Barrier Reef, I know good diving. Don't tell us you are a working diver, who can show us for a small fee how good Kata corals are. Where else have you been diving, your bath at home?

  3. It is not Thai Airways fault, it is the market, all these bad foreign airlines offering really too low fares, plus the price of fuel moves up and down, plus Thai does not want even 1 foreign manager on their board, even if they do have a lot of experience in profitable airlines in farangland, as they do not understand Thai Airways way. Making money is not so important, giving good service is and the shareholders are patient, even if some die before they make money. One year fuel will be very cheap and foreign airlines will raise prices. Be patient Thai Airways is the best airline to fly.

  4. One really only uses their Passport to travel. Outside of Asean, which passport let's you into more countries without a Visa? I know nothing about this man, but I suspect, by his conduct he has never been out of Thailand, like many in the north. No refunds on the receipt this is so Thailand, in most developed countries receipts often invite refunds, exchanges. Did I say developed? Many Thais will still look at him as 2nd class by his appearance. To have 2 nationalities is normally a good thing, now he has cutoff any exit should things change. Talking about kids, how does the education system compare in Thailand to the USA? Two of my ex-girlfriends did not know what a Jew was and did not know where Thailand is on the globe. What do they teach them at school, Thailand is great and No 1, outside Thailand not important, not speak about this.

  5. Lack of safety at sea and on the roads, obvious greed, two tier pricing, Thais thinking they are superior to any other nationality, Police collecting fines from motorcyclists, the extremely strong Baht (the real killer) and little intervention to get it lower. Have I missed anything, yes, the shift in making visas for anyone wanting to stay more than 30 days a lot of hassle. Now they scratch their heads and wonder how the beauty of the Andaman etc has gone wrong. The fact is with so many airlines, many budget airlines the world is a small place. SE Asia has many beaches outside of Thailand and just as attractive ladies at a far lower cost with easier visas. Hint, hint. Let them stew in their own mess.

How true, on the other hand some husbands like it.

It is his sister, gees some TV readers are in such a hurry, they fail to read and scroll to the video. Feisty lady his sister! A female Police officer I never see them on the road in Phuket, which is nice in a way that they are protected from the worst. O no, what have I said, I feel some feminists attacking me now. If only such feminists were so keen to pay their share of the bills!

  7. I have driven down that hill many times on my scooter and you have to slow down to look left and right, no chances risking it there even if you have right of way. He could have taken out a Scooter and many people on the pavement, for example if Visa runners were being collected which they are at around dawn (if any are still going) or pinned them under part of the truck and crippled them for life. A few hours later and there are people walking back from the shops to Kata Noi, which has some of the most exclusive resorts in area. This is a major tourist area, the tourists must have seen the truck there and many thought this could have been the end of their life.

  8. If so many Immigration staff, in this case 3 on 1 man, who cannot walk fast, then be confident people, the Immigration Department must have allocated the correct number to track down and capture those hardened criminals! Thailand will soon be a hub for safety, without tourists, or retirees, the Thai Baht is strong. Unless I missed something most of the Visa runners etc have long gone. Thailand is for Thais, anyone that has been in Thai utopia knows that, the rest are just renting their time on Visas, until they have to go back to their country for medical treatment, or run out of money. Thailand just keeps on giving! (No take my friend you) The only country in the world I know of that does not give you permanent residency leading to citizenship even if you are married with kids. No money, not our problem, go back your country.

When you know how highly the Thai police are held by the people who spend their lives on their smartphones watching all the nonsense posted by their fellows ...

Brushing a dog has many benefits, both for the dog and the person brushing.

No. Suggest you read the thread.

Insurance is required only for an O-A visa. You can also retire on an on-O visa for which there is no insurance requirement.

As to the pre-exisitng condition please read prior posts in this thread. May or may not prevent getting insurance.

I have seen a video in 2020 where for a retirement visa insurance is required. I am trying to help! As usual complete confusion and contradicting information about Visas. Nothing changes. Maybe the people that renewed without needing it the rules have changed. Think logically, why would people over 50 be exempt! They are the most likely to need medical treatments! Either way as per my original question, answer is you are allowed to stay?

  12. Hi, for full time residents how much quieter has Phuket become? I read with the mandatory insurance and extra visa rules businesses are struggling and with the strong Baht many retirees are leaving. Is it that dead apart from Chinese and Indian tourists? Why only Chinese and Indian tourists. I thought the Chinese were staying away after the boat tragedy.

  13. Hi, I read manyy tourists are not coming, but are places like Phuket, Koi Samui that quiet for long term residents, retirement, business owners etc, that stay all year.

Is the long term permanent living in Thailand expat community leaving and if so why? I remember when Thailand was cheap, but this is a two sided currency issue.

I have been told that insurance is not needed for the retirement visa.

For all others that run business, do they now need visas?

How many people have left that you know?
