I think it is encouraging that he shows the ability to back off stupid statements. He certainly isn't the first candidate to flip-flop on an issue. Just a reminder, in 2008 Obama & Hillary both opposed same sex marriage. I don't think they changed until as late as 2012.

Well, I agree that there are far more dangerous places to live than in Thailand but, there seems to be a marked increase in reported violence in Thailand the past 2 or 3 years.

It is strange though that there are so many falls from balconies in Thailand. You never hear of such incidents in other countries to the same extent. Something is obviously unique in Thailand that the rest of the world does not have, not sure what that is though.

Generally - Thais are shorter than foreigners - balcony walls are lower than foreigners' countries. Easier to 'over balance'.
