  1. Twisted words by Khaosod!. He was not defending brutality but asking for understanding about the closure of the Don-Muang express-way by the guards last Friday.

ps: he did not order the guards to close the road; he ordered to "take care of the road" to avoid attacks from the height while they were at the Police, but the guards did close the road and it took 2 hours until Luang Pu kew about that (he was busy with the gas and water) and then he ordered to immediately open the road.

You must have read a different article to me then, how do you know they twisted his words, where you there with him at the time of the statement,or the above actions you describe?

I know it from direct sources, not from written articles.

    Enlighten us.

Very simple: I have relatives and friends with Luang Pu since day one.

  4. Nobody seems to understand the consequences of a civil war. Look at Syria and the Ukraine and remember Spain and Sri Lanka.

Thank you. A sane man speaks.

The prospect of actual country wide civil war should terrify us all.

The Thai trait of being idle may well be their saving grace. Ultimately I think they can't be bothered.

    +1

I believe that the apologists of war are not 100% human. They may have been given the precious opportunity to be born as humans, but if they are not careful with their wishes they may go back to the hell where they came from.

  5. A good public speech (not a Facebook post) calling for peace and reconciliation, condemning violence, without pointing wrongdoing to any side, and looking towards the future, would be glorious at this complicated point. Better late than never!

That's what great leaders are supposed to do.

But I believe that I'm dreaming.

  6. For all those obsessed with the violence perperated or threatened by the red shirts should take a good look at the not unsubstantial efforts of the yellow shirts. Their thugs, oops sorry guards have continuously threatened, harrassed, intimidated and beaten not only opponants but innocent people. They have caused constant annoyance and inconvience to innocent residents and workers. Above all they are making Thailand a laughing stock around the world.

All those people who readily jump to the defence of Suthep and what he is doing should cast your minds back to some of his anti foreigner rhetoric. Also ask yourself this would you put up with his crap in your own country.

The only anti-foreign rethoric, nay, action, that has happened related to the protests was the government attempt to deport Satit Segal for speaking against corruption on a stage and threatening all foreigners with the same if they joined the protests.

Which is ironic seeing as Robert Amsterdam was apparently speaking on stage at the red shirt rally yesterday, so guess one must enquire as to what CAPO is gong to do about it ?....arrest him/deport him, at the very least we should expect condemnation from TV rabid reds same as they did with the indian

I agree. Mr. Sathit Segal (former chairman of the Thai-Indian Business Forum) did not talk about politics at the anti-government stage, neither said names or disrespect anyone; he just said that Thailand would have a better future without corruption. On the other side, Mr Amsterdam is defaming Royal Thai Institutions and adding high-octane fuel to the conflict, and that's precisely what the TV Red Shirt lovers like!

  7. In the meantime, in another part of the galaxy:

CAPO threatens to take legal actions against TV stations that broadcast PDRC's announcements

    May 9, 2014 4:46 pm

The Centre for Administration of Peace and Order Friday issued an order prohibiting the directors of TV stations from broadcasting statements of the People's Democratic Reform Committee.

The CAPO said in its latest statement that the directors of TV stations would face both criminal and civil lawsuits if their stations are seen as assisting the PDRC.

The CAPO said it had to issue the order because the PDRC had tried to force directors and management of Channels 3, 5, 7, 9 and NBT to broadcast its statements.

The CAPO said the PDRC leaders are facing charges and some of them are accused of being terrorists so the TV stations are not allowed to assist them.

  8. According to an interview at Bluesky to a farmer

"BLUESKY Channel interviewed farmer Ravi (pictured) who said that the group had come this morning to lodge complaints and a special investigation case with the police and DSI (DSI chief Tarit is currently stationed at CAPO) requesting the government to provide long overdue payments under the rice-pledging scheme. However, the police would not allow entrance and instead fired tear gas at the group.

The farmer noted that the police's illegal firing of tear gas this morning at peaceful, unarmed protesters is further evidence of the illegitimacy of the sham government.

Venerable หลวงปู่พุทธะอิสระ (Buddha Isara) further described that this morning he declared that he would enter CAPO grounds by himself, without the crowds. However, as Venerable Buddha Isara started his singular approach, police units fired tear gas at the peaceful, unarmed crowds instead of admitting him on to CAPO grounds."

    Sad day for Thailand.

ah yes Bluesky - because they are not biased

The news are not just coming from Bluesky Channel, CiaranO, I've got friends and relatives there and they are confirming the same story: peaceful unarmed protesters, and Buddha Isara walking by himself to CAPO.

  9. Yingluck is far and away the cleanest, least corrupt PM this nation has ever seen.

Torkmada, maybe you are right. I have no evidence to say the contrary, so it may be true that she has never put a single fraudulent Baht into her pocket (unless someone demonstrates the contrary). But she has allowed corruption at all levels. Perhaps she was afraid of confronting the powerful people that is behind the corruption? Perhaps afraid of contradicting the orders of old bro? Perhaps ignorant, blind, and stupid?. Who knows! but there is no doubt that she has neglected her duty and she has lost a precious opportunity to reform the country for good.

  10. Still I would have though a journalist would have loved the opportunity to have a private talk with one of the protest leaders. No idea what NN said in arguing not to accept the 'kind' invitation. Some say he can be somewhat blunt and argumentative with clear bias towards one site. That would surely not go well with guards. No info on that though, no one reported that type of details as far as I know.

To seriously go into why NN wouldn't be tortured and dumped seems to suggest a certain bias on your side by the way. Why else go into it as it's totally irrelevant here.

BTW it may be possible that Buddha Issara indeed wanted to see NN and talk with him. NN is well known as in the other camp, and I'm sure Buddha Issara as astute as he is would like some first hand info on NN's thoughts.

Hi Rubl. I've got several relatives and friends at Chaengwatana, and they confirm that Luang Pu has absolutely no idea of who is that reporter that people is talking about. They neither know who are those alleged guards that approached NN.

The target of NN is to gain popularity and to demonize the anti-government protesters using dirty tricks.

  11. Wow! A lot of cheer & happiness from the yellow cheer-leading squad. Have your days of gloating because you know you've only got until the next election to enjoy this. After that another Thaksin party will be in power & you will be back to whinging, whining and watching the perennial loser Dems throwing their toys out of the opposition benches.

I personally don't care much about the "Dems" and about that "yellow squad" that is in your imagination. I just hope that whoever will be at next government, no matter how many votes they get at the election, will go to jail if their practices are corrupted, break the law, or abuse power.

  12. The Bangkok elite have to now reap what they've sown.

The only people they can blame are themselves.

You are as sick as the ones that throw the grenades.

You can't deny the majority of the population their democratic rights without suffering some kind of repercussion.

The yellow shirts have indicated they want a fight and they're going to get it by the looks of it.

The "democratic rights of the majority of the population" cannot be above law and justice! That is an aberration.
