Could you please indicate which specific rules from the Vinaya Pitaka?. Thank You
Gentle reminder:
Those of you who are questioning the suitability of Phra Issara to wear the robes, could you please indicate which of the 227 rules of the Buddhist monks (Vinaya Pitaka) is he breaking? Thank You.I do not know the location of the Sangha Rule but I understand it is only because there is no Supreme Patriarch that nothing is done about Buddha (sic) Issara - the following may help :A Buddhist monk is supposed to be a renunciant practising the path to Enlightenment taught by theBuddha. This is a path for the elimination of the self or ego. Thus the Buddha and his disciples went ondaily almsround (pindacara) to beg for their food as a practise to cultivate humility, in addition to giving laydevotees the chance to practise generosity. So humility is the mark of a renunciant, and you can say that abenchmark of a monk’s progress is the measure of his humility.Active Involvement in PoliticsFrom all the above, we can see very clearly that a monk should not be actively involved in partisan politics, which is within the sphere of lay people. At the most a monk may exercise his citizen’s right to vote wiselyin the General Elections. If monks actively engage in partisan politics, it will endanger the Sangha (community of monks). There are ten contemplations a monk is instructed by the Buddha to consider thoughtfully every day inAnguttara Nikaya Sutta 10.48. The first one is “I am now come to the state of being an outcaste(vevanniya).” The third contemplation is “I must now behave differently (from a lay person).” So a monkshould remind himself that he has gone out from society to live a completely different lifestyle from a layperson. To remind his monastic disciples of their low-calling the Buddha purposely called his monks‘bhikkhu’, literally ‘beggar’.It is only because of his renunciation of worldly possessions and affairs that amonk receives veneration and homage from the laity. If he behaves like a lay person what can he expectother than to be treated like a lay person?Ven. Dhammavuddho Mahathera
That is just the opinion of one monk.
The Thai Sahgha Feudal System has it's own regulations, but they were not made by the Buddha. Not following the Thai Sangha Archaic Rules does not mean that a monk has to disrobe. eg: Ajahn Brahm did allow the ordination of women in Australia (to ordain women is not allowed by the Thai Sangha Rules) and he is still a monk, but he does not belong to the Thai Feudal Sangha anymore.
There are many communities of monks that do not follow the Thai Sangha Rules. Not even the Thai Forest monks of the Ajahn Chah tradition, who are strictly adhered to the Vinaya Pitaka Rules, follow everything that they dictate.
On the other side, the ordinary monks that you see in Bangkok and in 90% of the Wat in Thailand, do not follow all the 227 rules of the Vinaya, like the forest monks do.
The Vinaya Pitaka, that is part of the Tipitaka, can be consulted here:
-
If he were a true monk he would not behave as such it is merely a disguise !!
it is against Sangha Rules to be engaged in politics - either sidehe is a disgrace to Buddhism
EDIT: no monks should be engaged in politics and so I condemn those at the red shirt rally just as much (being a fair poster lol)
Could you please indicate which specific rules from the Vinaya Pitaka?. Thank You

This mans credibility and adherence to the precepts required by the Thai version of Buddhism is under review. I would respectfully suggest that we allow his superiors and peers to judge as to his suitability to wear the robe.
Is the monk who jetsets around the world in a private jet, with billions stashed away overseas his superior?
No. Do not mix the things. That was another monk called Nen Kham. And precisely, it was Phra Buddha Issara who presented charges against Nen Kham amid the passivity of the authorities to take action against him.

Now that the farmers have learned, they can continue the business by themselves and teach other farmers to do the same.
Auto-sufficient economy, with no vultures involved in the process.
At the Chaengwattana Phra Issara's protester's site, things are much more productive and interesting for the true development of the people than at Suthep's PDRC site

For those of you that are worried about what he is doing with the cash:
Unlike politicians, he is actually helping the rice farmers. He bought machines for the farmers and teach them how to use them. He also teach them how to open their own trade business to directly sell the rice, so they do not have to depend on the government, on the trade-millers, or on other commissioners and intermediates that are only interested in enlarging their pockets.

The objective of Robert Amsterdam’s incendiary speech to the Red Shirts was very clear: to mobilize Thaksin’s militia. To instigate hate in the tiny minds of the Red Shirts to make them raise up with anger against those who dare to criticize or investigate the wrongdoing of the Shinawatra regime. To ignite a spark that would make the Red Shirts to create as much havoc as possible; enough havoc and destruction to bring the prince of darkness back to the country in the middle of the smoke and ashes.
Why Mr. T. didn’t gave the speech himself? He would have loved to do that, but he is very clever; he knew very well that he could be incriminated, so he paid his lawyer to do the dirty job. Amsterdam has been used as a pawn by his evil employer, and now he is in trouble for that.
Fortunately, the Red Shirts did not come to central Bangkok this time.

'...everyone will come to an agreeable solution to solve the problems in the country"
Everyone in the country doesn't need to come up with an agreeable solution......Only the DP and their appendages in Lumpini and elsewhere need to do that.
The Electoral Majority doesn't need to solve anything.....Unless someone wants to suggest they all change their votes according to their own visions.......Good luck with that.
The solutions the DP and those appendages need to contemplate, is how do we make ourselves electorally competitive.
I am waiting for this pro-DP media to address that question....It would make for a lively, positive and forward-looking discussion in both the political arena and here.
Amazing how biased you are. Or should we call it tunnel vision.
The core of the present political problems go all the way back to the Temasak deal in 2006 done by your sweet hearts brother (no.1 ).
Everything that came after, including the military coup, yellows in 2008, the attempts to change the constitution in her brother's favor by the Somchai and Samak and Yinguck (PPT/PPP/PT), the red revolutions in 2009, 2010, Suthep's anti's in 2014 and now the reds in 2014 are connected to that act of Shinawatra selfishness. .
Yingluck is the clone or the real problem! Open those Frisian eyes of yours!
the boppe is a waste of time and effort. He belches out the same statements using always the same catch words: electoral majority blah, blah...political arena blah, blah...coup mongers blah, blah...,but he never ever replies to a challenge to his posts or engages in any discussion: he is a space filler without purpose.
He only copy/paste Amsterdam & Peroff's clichés. Never engages in proactive discussions.

Thailand’s Source of Strength : His Majestie's system of self-sufficiency economy.
Very interesting article. Despite what some of you may think about Mr. Cartalucci being biased, in this article he explains very well what is the best source of strength that Thailand has, as a sovereign nation.
And that is, precisely, what Mr T, the greedy money-maker tycoon, and his associates want to destroy for the benefit of their business empire.

It is also clear that the PDRC are now intent on smearing the pro-democracy movement via false claims that the UDD leadership is "anti-monarchy" - similar claims have been used previously by Thai fascist movements to rationalise bloody massacres of pro-democracy activists.
Kotee made this speech, Kotee is a red leader, reds shirt are supporter of PTP, some red are minister and menber of PTP. This show clearly one of red shirt and PTP real goal................
Seems like UDD wants to amputate themselves a member. They may be scared about the consequences of the secessionist propaganda of Ko-Tee that they all applauded.

If we compare the speech of Robert Amsterdam with the speech of Sathit Segal on the stage, Sathit did not showed disrespect or attacked any person or institution; Sathit basically said that for the goodness of Thailand there should be more transparency and less corruption. And yet the caretaker government wanted to deport him to the country where he was born, although he has lived almost all his life in Thailand and he has worked hard for the development of strong business relationships between Thailand and India (he was president of the India-Thai Chamber of Commerce).
On the other side, Robert Amsterdam, who only works for Thaksin Shinawatra and does not live in Thai soil, insulted Royal Thai institutions like the Constitutional Court, the National Anti-Corruption Commission, the Judicial System, the Senate…
With or without Thaksinism on power, Amsterdam does not have a future in Thailand.

Shut your mouth, Suthep. Take a break, and let justice follow its due course.

"worried", "concerned", "compensations"... any leader of a normal country would have, at least, STRONGLY CONDEMNED the violence. And not in Facebook but showing the face on TV.

My Thai friends have confirmed that Suthep did not say such things.
Instead of incriminating Suthep, the DSI should probe the incendiary speech of Robert Amsterdam at the UDD rally via Skype.
Robert Amsterdam insulted Royal Thai institutions like the Constitutional Court, the National Anti-Corruption Commission, the Judicial System…

Robert Amsterdam is Anti-Thai (or in other words, 100% Pro-Thaksinista)

When I read the title I thought that it was referring to the challenge of appearing in a public face-to-face debate on TV.
Nothing interesting here...
I second what Somtanication has said.

Look who was the star of the night at the Red Shirt Circus: Robert Amsterdam, via Skype. The co-father of the Red Shirts.
He condemns the Thai Constitutional Court, The National Anti Corruption Commission, the Thai Senate, law 112...

Those images are not owned by the BKP and the Nation DUDE!!!
They were both doing the facebook rounds last night... DUDE!
This one has been 'perspective distorted' deliberately to make the foreground wider and pull the distance out a lot further to give the impression of a lot more content... It is just stretched out that way to fool idiots. That is why the horizon is now curved.
Also you can clearly see all the very large gaps between the people... take 2 minutes to count 100 of the people and then extrapolate that across the whole picture and you will get no more than a few thousand.
They will have likely added a lot more people in the background to make 2000 look like 5000.
Also the clever angle they took it from to hide the big gaps in the crowd.... (closer to the ground).
Here is the true image taken from a better angle that shows the gaps, and the picture has not been perspective distorted.
This was taken at 17.10 just before it got dark, so not much time for a massive increase when your doctored picture was also taken in daylight.
BUSTED!!!!!
BKP picture.
Again... angle deliberately set to hid gaps and perspective once again manipulated to make it look a lot wider and a lot longer.
Look ar the left crowd.... The distance from the stage to the set of white canopies along the left edge of the site... look at it in both pictures, see how far back those canopies now appear with perspective manipulation.
These pictures are for idiots and morons to believe. But a trained eye will spot a fake a long way off.
DUDE!
the true image taken from a better angleIs it possible to have that image in jpg? I would like to have it downloaded.
Look at this image the mother of all photoshopped images, no more wite canvas roofs, no more toilets.
Have a look a this one.Red Dwarfs are growing!

Look at the Cult of Leadership pictures hanging from their bags
There were a lot of posts regarding fake monks from the red supporters when monks supported Suthep and when the reds beat up a monk.
I know MGP that you have a good knowledge of Dhamma so would you be prepared to give an opinion on the monks we see in these photos with things like which sect they may belong to, any specific temple in any particular part of the country ?
They have not shaved their heads for this important public appearance, as you point out the badges on the bags seem out of place then there is the 'monk' on the right on the truck with the tats and sunglasses who looks as if he would be more at home in the BKK Hilton than a temple.
They look from the group that attended the Red Shirt concentration at Don Muang Stadium last November.
They are from the Dhammakaya donate-me-your-money cult, closely linked to the Shinawatra business.
This picture is from the Don Muang Stadium rally:

That's the most crazy idea I've ever heard!!!
But, according to my Thai friends, he has not said such a barbarian stupidity.
That's KHAOSOD, the Red Shirt newspaper. Perhaps they have twisted his words
Let's wait for a true reliable source to confirm it.

And who are "real monks" for you?
For me, the best example of the Buddhist teachings is given by the Forest Monks. I go quite often to the forest monasteries, and I can tell you that they are supporting Phra Issara, as they supported the revered Ajahn Maha Boowa in his anti-Thaksin quest.
A gentle reminder: it was Ajahn Maha Boowa who did open the eyes of many Thai people to see the evilness of Thaksin Shinawatra.
ps: for those that are still asking again and again about what is he doing with the money, please read posts #33 and #34 at this thread.
