  1. In any other country she would be in jail. Or if unlucky she would have been shoot by the security guards. Imagine a person that evade the security around a Prime minister or President and then run up against him/her.

It's only in Thailand people think it's ok to attack or harass the Prime Minister or President.

    Nonsense.

Stop trying to create the impression YL is in the same league as world leaders. She's the leader of a currently government less third world country where corruption is increasing massively and the rule of law is breaking down thanks in part to the illegal actions of her cabinet and the interference of her fugitive crooked brother,

Plenty of real politicians get heckled, eggs thrown, flour thrown and other abuses. Their security details protect them without resulting uses firearms or excessive violence, They certainly don't send gangs out to beat them, threaten them, shoot at them, throw grenades at them etc,

There was a UK deputy PM who reacted when some idiot slapped an egg on him. He turned round and thumped the idiot! YL was right to offer her hand - totally diffuses the situation and makes the other person feel embarrassed and stupid, as could be seen for the photos of the time. No need for this violent assault,

If YL could react so sensibly at the time, who is calling the shots now? Why are they getting so much more desperate?

I entirely agree that the reaction of YL was sensible, very appropriate, and even intelligent.

But if she really has those attributes of sensitivity and the intelligence to behave appropriately on certain situations, why she has never condemned all that violence and launched a manhunting of the perpetrators, like a normal leader of a country would do?

Is that lack of responsiveness to violence part of the protocol of the clones?

Let's forget about reds or yellows and think about that.

Which countries have you in mind.

We'll get an idea of what you find acceptable.

I recall standing in a protest line when Maggie Thatcher was visiting our area - I had a box of eggs in my hand.

I bobby asked to have a look

Fresh? he asked - Of course I said, just bought them - I'm making an omelette later.

He responded "Don't you go throwing them at anyone or I might have to arrest you"

I threw my eggs at Maggie but sadly missed her by a whisker.

    Went home happy and free.

It could have been worse, but I did manage to hit the local Tory MP.

I met him later at my mother's retirement party and confessed I had splattered him with eggs - he was amused at the idea I was one of his egg throwing assailants.

I've not been beaten, had my care smashed or been shot up ….. yet.

    Threw eggs at Maggie!

    You are my hero! smile.png

In any other country, in any other country…

Imagine a similar situation with the President or Prime Minister of any other country like the US, UK, France, Australia, Sweden, etc. If someone makes a violent action to defend their interests (like shooting the car of a girl that blows a whistle, throwing grenades that kill children, throwing grenades to the Anti-Corruption Commission or to the houses of the Constitutional Court members, threatening with war or secession, etc…) How do you think that the leaders of those countries would react? Don’t you think that, at least, they would immediately appear on TV to condemn the violence, and open an investigation?

What kind of leader is YL?

  4. Funny,

Some years ago, it was explained to me what Thailand, meant.... It was explained to me that it meant, "Land of the Free," If I am wrong and it doesn't mean that, then you can explain it to me..... I guess I believed it, because I was stationed in Issan..... and back then so many years ago, they were free.

They were independent which I enjoyed... Today? Your guess is as good as mine.... But I sure loved it back then........ BOL to the LOS, just a thought.

And when it returns in such a way I will come home..... The Nation will grow, and perhaps the people will be happy once again......

Sorry but this Thaksin Family influence over the years, has me thinking, between what I loved, and what I know to be different......

    kilosierra.... wai.gifwai.gifwai.gif

It is not only Thailand that has been corrupted. There are also many Farangs supporting Thaksin's lawless and violent money-making empire.

I've always wondered why. Perhaps they have a red-shirt Isaan girlfriend that would cut their balls if they don't cooperate with the cause? Or they have invested in Shin assets? Or they are shareholders of Amsterdam & Peroff?. Who knows!

  5. (on

    Yingluck 1 Suthep 0

    Tomboy, whatever!

Nice reaction by Yingluck and friendly too. Well done. Suthep your a loon and children shouldn't be a part of this circus IMO.

Sent from my i-mobile i-STYLE 8.2 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Cricketnut, what score do you give to the shooters? what score do you give to YL for not saying a single word about the violent revenge?

    [edit]

I've just noticed that there is a new thread:

    http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/716615-gun-attack-targets-woman-who-blew-whistle-against-yingluck/

  6. The attitude of YL is beyond my comprehension.

  7. This is thuggery and there we have Suthep Thugsuban standing there displaying his fake crocodile grin awarding some brain dead total non-entity a golden whistle for her achievements of a few minutes claim to fame for committing an act of extreme disrespect and blowing a whistle like a baby at the prime minister. And this it appears is how these idiots propose to deal with political issues and disputes if pray not they ever obtain power. It is probably only a matter of time before these easily manipulated fools of low intellect progress from whistles to deadly weapons.

That girl should have been arrested, charged with public order offences and made an example as a deterrent for any other idiots that decide they are above the law and wish to join the bandwagon. But instead the media has portrayed this girl as some sort of hero. This whole scenario is a complete farce and all part of the media circus.

If blowing a whistle is "thuggery", how do you call shooting a gun to her car??? What adjective do you reserve for that???

Her car has been attacked with gun fire, and the bullets were pointed to her window, right to her head - shoot to kill - DO YOU HAVE ENOUGH?

If you say that her action was "above the law", how do you consider the action of the gun shooters? Fighters for Democracy? Respect my Vote lovers?

Red Shirt's supporters are as violence lovers as Red Shirts. It is true that the friend of a terrorist is a terrorist.

    bah.gif

It's already been said a lot about how much you dislike the action of the girl blowing the whistle to YL, or the reward from Suthep (this post is 4 months old). The new topic is the criminal revenge of the Shinawatra Supporters.

  8. Hey, don’t be fooled by the date of the article. That is feasible with the modern technology.

The problem is that IT WILL ONLY WORK FOR iPhone and iPad.

At the initial stage of the project, it will not be possible to charge Android or Windows tablets with this wireless system.

The origin of that discrimination comes from the Dhammakaya Sect, who are responsible of financing the project.

As you may know, the abbot of the mega-rich Dhammakaya cult is maintaining a close relationship with the reincarnated Divine Beign Spirit of Steve Jobs, and he has decided to prioritize his products with the aim of offering merits to his temple. The Dhammakaya followers, who are known to be devoted to Apple products, will be gratefully rewarded on their next life.

  9. "BOT chief explains why he would turn down PM's job"

What a ridiculous notion, treated seriously.

I don't need to read the rest of the article, to know this is some more Ammart, Elitist anti-democratic dreaming.

What makes anyone think this guy could win an election. Within that reality and context, who cares what this guy thinks.

The underpinning of this nonsense is the same as that which led to AV being elevated to PM after the 2006 coup without winning a national election.....Mostly the same people think they can engineer a reprise of that.

But there is that little item of a thoroughly politicized electoral majority, not present previously......Ignoring that reality is actually arrogance run amok, and is done at their own peril.

Is that the latest official dispatch from Amsterdam & Peroff?

  10. HM the King told recently to the civil servants to do their jobs.

Fascists (this is their nature) told to the civil servants to do not do their jobs.

Mr Prayut chose his side (even if a little voice inside him...).

Me, and most of my Thai friends and coworkers, unequivocally understand that HM's message was addressed to the ones that are not properly doing their job by being involved in rampant corruption, abuse of power and disrespect of law.

  11. So the prosecution can tell the defence who she can and can not testify in her defence. Talk about stacking a court in favour of the prosecution and hardly seems like a fair hearing

Which prosecution are you talking about and for that matter what court?

Here we only discuss the NACC investigating Ms. Yingluck's resourceful handling of the rice price pledging scheme.

BTW anyone who knows why the Yingluck government in their blanket amnesty bill had extended the coverage period to include the first two years of Yingluck's government taking care of corruption?

Why are you still going on about the amnesty bill? You seem to be under the misunderstanding that this was something that came out of the blue. The proposal for an amnesty bill was discussed, and became PTP POLICY during the election campaign before last, ie, the election they won so overwhemingly. Public opinion favoured amnesty, the public VOTED for amnesty. You people keep trying to rewrite history.Tedious.

Yes, it was on their policy, but the Amnesty Bill that they redacted and passed in a pre-dawn session on the 1st of November 2013 at 4AM was very different from all the drafts that had been discussed so far with the other parties.

Cheating, cheating, and cheating. They even cheated the Red Shirts. They also found that after-hours version of the Amnesty Bill very disgusting, and they were very upset with Pheu Thai Party.

  12. "Suppose you work in a company, and you decide to protest against the company owner," Gen. Prayuth asked the reporter instead, "Can you do that? If you don't agree with your supervisor, do you dare firing that person? If not, then you must do your duty. Whatever duty that has been entrusted to you, you must do it accordingly".

    1zgarz5.gif

Gen Prayuth, you do not work for a company owned by the Shinawatra or by any other clan. You work for Thailand and you owe your duty to the Thai Citizens!

If you see wrongdoing in your supervisor, you have to act in the interests of the country, not to protect your career for your personal interest.

  13. after the way she has made sure no one has testified about her brothers passport for 2 years is it any wonder that they want these idiots to testify quickly. They already have their evidence, all this is is a way for yl to postpone the outcome as there is no way to release her from her guilt of not doing her job, telling the nacc that she was not at any of the meetings is not a good enough excuse, she was the person in charge so she had a duty of care to make sure she was aware of the facts, she didnt do her job and no amount of stalling will improve her situation. This is simply another ptp bullsh*t attempt to have the investigation(not prosecution) dropped.

And another push to delude the Thaksinista fans (including several Thai Visa posters) to make them believe that YL is being treated with unfairness, and that this is a "judicial coup" against her.

That idea of the "judicial coup" is utterly ridiculous; this is plain and simple justice amid wrongdoing, but the sad truth is that many of them are really deluded, so deluded that they may even attend the red-shirt circus on April 5.

  14. Since when are an accused limited to the number of witnesses he or she can use to prove his/her case. When something smells like fish it's most of the times rotten fish.

Rametindallas has already provided the answer (two posts above yours)

This is not a trial, it is a preliminary hearing to decide if it is required to proceed with a trial.

Hearings are supposed to be very brief and concise. That is one of the reasons why it is not required to bring many witnesses.
