How much longer until the Republicans start distancing themselves from this train wreck of a president running the place (i.e. country) like one of his businesses (doh! Who could have seen this coming, right? Apparently not all those expecting 'campaign trail nuclear Donald' to morph into 'adult & responsible Donald who understands diplomacy come January'. I do hope this will be last time in American history such an obviously unsuited candidate has been given the keys to the castle.
As the Dutch ZEMBLA documentary showed, racketeering charges are prepared to be brought against him.
Trump is going to go down as a result of his own actions. That day cannot come soon enough

Will they send the US a clean up bill?

Every day we wake up to yet another scandal surrounding the so-called POTUS!
Can you imagine if Obama had even remotely been accused of anything like this? Could have had a foam party with all the ensuing foaming at the mouth!

I guess he is progressive.
You are applying the Theravada rules to a Mahayana monk. On the other hand, you would not see a Mahayana/Vajrayana monk smoke, something that's always bothered me about Theravada monks.
Anyway, the Chinese suppression of human rights and religious freedom in the "T.A.R." is reprehensible and how life may have been in the past or that it's always been China's territory (as a foreign student counselor of Chinese heritage at City College of San Francisco once angrily told me when the topic arose) is no justification.

Thank you for sharing, soalbundy.

Won't have been the last time unfortunately. Scams are everywhere. and people will be lied to and aren't sophisticated enough to see through it all.

Suicide in Japan is not seen as we do in the West. It has a history of being regarded as an honorable and noble act.

[I was reacting to some highly inflammatory posts by heroKK that have since been removed by the mods. So, if you are thinking "his posts aren't THAT bad" you are seeing this thread post-clean up :)]
Well, heroKK, you are just an agit-prop guy and not even a good one, except good at trolling. You are so way out in right field, so over the top, it's comical. It's working against you too.
Hope your blood pressure is OK. If you see/meet a Muslim, I wonder how you react? Ever speak to any knowing they were Muslims? I do recommend it.
Just one thing: This, let's not forget it, Thai-centered forum (do you even care about Asia at all?), is a special sub-group (older & mostly male), there are no undecided folks here that you could sway. Your propaganda does not fall on fertile soil here, esp. since it's so crudely overdone.

Hard to tell the outside world (amulet being recognized) from the inside one, as they overlap in a case like these.
eah, you can give it away but don't sell it.

I must show respect without "evidence"..............incredible...........NO THANKS
"belief" means nothing without evidence.......there is none, all you mentioned are equally stupid......plastic Jesus etc
Well, let's see. Are you in Thailand or in any other foreign country?
If stuff is brought up to your face that you feel you don't believe/respect - how do you react?
-
I'd like to block another user (yes, herokk) how do you do this? I looked and couldn't find anything on that.

The discrepancy between your avatar and your words is quite confusing, kannot.
Some sort of a joke in reverse?

Because the "biased media" kept bombarding them in ways that exceeds even communist China, There must be something seriously wrong with the French. After one Islamic bloodbath after another, after one crime by a "refugee" after another, they still elected en masse open borders globalist shills.
What a good little populist hater you are. Got any more superlatives?
Many of the crimes you describe were committed by passport holders of EU countries; most of them weren't refugees. As I said before, if you don't want Muslims, don't colonize their countries or ask them to come and work for you.

You are right of course in all points. Although when looking at outsourcing of jobs, the fact how many jobs were "insourced" and created by int'l trade and fostering of new technologies never gets mentioned strangely. Or the fact that if you tell companies to stop it or else, the prices of goods will likely rise. Companies are highly motivated by saving money and I find it laughable if populist politicians pretend they could buck that trend.
You do not counter high unemployment in the case of France by leaving the EU and introducing a new untested currency and keeping foreigners out. To sell this experiment to the voters as the way out is extremely irresponsible and naive to the point of lunacy. You do that and foreign investment will plummet and jobs start walking out the door as foreign companies will retreat.
The job markets are changing more because of changes in technology and not "globalism". If products made in France are offered in other countries - isn't that globalism too?
If France buys the imports it absolutely needed on the international market (think uranium for example for their dependency on nuclear energy production - just imagine them for a minute being suddenly cut off from this) - isn't that globalism too?
If the people in France can buy the latest gadgets not developed or produced in France - isn't that globalism?
The answer is yes, yes and yes. Only then, it is just quietly accepted as it's good for the country.
I would have tipped my hat if the FN had said, we will exit the EU, cease using the Euro and Globalism in all forms and we will now go it alone in all aspects of life. The borders will be closed. No more exports and no more imports - no more selling of weapons in the middle East and no more buying of oil from there. Air France will become a domestic carrier only (at least as long as there is kerosene left). No more products on the shelves unless made in France 100%. No more vacances abroad allowed, all holiday homes must be sold or you have to rescind French citizenship and stay outside and kiss your pension goodbye. Those committing serious crimes will lose their citizenship and be deported. It will be tough and our standard of living will be greatly reduced (no more electricity at first for one thing as we will have to develop sources that are 100% French made) but we will come out of this much stronger as we rediscover the real French way of life for and by the French.
Now, who would have voted for that?

Not all cultures are equal are they, superstitious nonsense like this does not deserve respect or admiration as it's pure ignorance.
Out with all the 'belief' religions then.

One does not have to agree with everything that happens in a foreign country (and you are certainly free to not follow it) but a certain respect for local traditions goes along the way and will be appreciated, I have found.
Isn't that the same argument that is applied, no scratch that: expected, when people from other countries come over to the West?
-
BangkokBaksida - the comment by bendejo referred to the FN, which is indeed a neo-fascist party, not "everyone". However, saying that the populist's way of total isolation is the only right way is clearly wrong; also way too late for that, isn't it? Not like Muslims in Europe is a new phenomenon. If you don't want them, don't ask them to come as guest workers (Germany) or don't start colonizing Northern Africa (France). [sorry, can't turn off the formatting, didn't intend to shout.]
hugocnx, the amount of relief in Europe differs from about 66% in France to perhaps 85% or even more in neighboring countries, just open your eyes and read.

SAD that virtually none of you bother to understand Thai culture, and display
woeful ignorance and scorn and derision at the far more spiritual Thai way of
life; ..
Can you imagine a Thai website where Thais living in the West congregate and they constantly knock their guest country and poke fun at our weird customs?
P.S. As it just occurred to me: I'm really happy the guy had such a lucky escape and is unharmed, regardless of the reason.

The mentality of people believing that an amulet saved his life is unbelievable.
Don't knock it until you tried it, as they say
Seriously, my mom keeps holy water in her home and people pray to an entity that you just have to believe in and follow books full of logical hurdles (and descriptions of mass slaughter, infanticide, call for murder, etc.). I really don't see the difference, to be honest and at least this doesn't have such a violent past connected to it.

I suggest you toughen up a bit. "threatening" in politics is part of the game that they play. However, people tend to only point it out when their candidates aren't the ones doing it.
PiS in Poland is anti-democratic party with fascist tendencies elected in a democratic process (kind of like 1933, remember). There is considerable resistance to the government and I applaud it.

I dare say such severe violations against the Vinaya Pitaka

is a problem mostly in the Theravada tradition where some monks hearts are not really in the right place.
