  1. Great idea and I hope they have a discount for tourists. The 300 baht membership fee is a bit expensive. They rent out bikes for 20 baht a day in Vientiane and NO congestion here its 100 baht?? But I just put my own bike in the Bus to bangkok and go everywhere with it! lol even on the sky train!

  2. Seems many here don't see past their noses to the big picture and instead like to blame "natives" for their own management problems.

the word "benefit" is often bandied about as if it is some kind of get-out clause - a blanket criticism for anyone who is not as well off as thew poster.

Natives of Thailand really don't manage 7-11 or Tesco. I think the Corporate Executives should certianly be the first to step in line in giving a minimum of 300 baht a day for manual labors, they have the MOST money compared to the local 'native' companies so they can AFFORD to pay the Thai people more money! Most of you here lack "Empathy"..

  3. I'm glad to find others who agree with me about the social liberties in which Cambodian law does not get invasive in the privacy of a mans life when it does nothing to harm another. The USA and Portugal, etc have legalized weed and other drugs and have a lower rate of overall addiction compared to many countries. The war on drugs is just a way to boost an economy especially in Thailand. Drugs are seized and resold in other countries or thrown back into the cycle right here at home by one of the superior gangs or whoever has the most money. Its sad that the wandering nomads who like to puff the peace pipe end up in prison for over 20 years while the REAL CRIMINALS who destroy and overdevelop nature and pristine habitats for profit are considered revered businessmen. For the idiots here who make assumptions about me or degrade my intellect for not speaking proper english, you must be pretty insecure to bully someone online, get a life! Obviously this topic was relevant and not trolling as it has over 1000 reads in under 48 hours..........

  4. Whenever you come across a luckless Farang bleating about some Thai woman robbing him - fist ask him if his relationship with the woman who robbed him started with a finacial transaction

If he can't or won't say, press the auto flashback button at the back of his head.

Press once to wind back and see him smiling as he hands over his life savings.

Press twice to wind back further and see him smiling as he hands over cash to set his relationship off on the path it was destined to remain on.

I was robbed of a thousand baht my first GF in Thailand and that was all the money in my wallet after she slept with me over 30 times at my apartment for free. But she never ASK me for anything......

  5. We live in the boonies of Loei province. Employers here pay whatever it takes to get decent help. My wife struggles to find workers for the farm and if she does find any willing to work, they won't work for less than 300 baht per day.

Working/loafing for much less in an air conditioned environment has more appeal than sweating in the fields.

Conclusion - most people would do anything rather than work for you?

    300 b

Exactly, I dont think they make 300 baht a day in Tesco in Loei and also they lose the 30 baht Free Medical care once they start working for a corporation like tesco or 7-11, even after my GF quit after working only 3 weeks there she is not able to get the government care at the hospital. We should make a BOYCOTT for Tesco, another stupid Brittish corporation spilling crap all over the world like BP..

You <deleted>. They dont lose the 30b scheme they gain the social security scheme which actually gives more benefits. Get your facts right. Also when leaving employment your (ex) gf can still pay into the scheme (545b per month) for the benefits.

Also currently the minimum wage for loei is 241b per day. Most companies are paying more than this after probation.

    sent from my ..................#

IF she isnt working how can she pay 550 bAht a month for benefits, and you dont need to get insulting with me like a lowlife.

I think most of you here could not survive on 240 baht a day EVEN if you could stay with the parents of your wife!...lol

  6. With your qualifications I would be looking for minimum 60k baht. You'll be on campus from ~8 to ~4.... that is the layout of the "good" Thai schools anyway. The international sort I don't know about.

The 30k schools are conveyor belts. All things being equal, that turnover should be enough to make you think anyway.

If I was you I'd try to figure out who is head of EP at about a half dozen "good" schools, walk in and make a good 5 minute impression on him. Let him know you are here solidly, not a transient. Try to make sure he has your contact info in his phone when you leave and knows your name. Sending CV's here is weird.... it is like the lotto... so odd.

Most schools in Thailand are filled with drunk native speakers wreaking of cigarette smoke and cheap perfume. I'm from Bulgaria but atleast I'm not an alcoholic and I cant find a job paying me more than 20 thousand baht a month!

You could find the answer in your own post. Guess you meant drunk native English speaking teachers, otherwise I’d suggest to change your medication.

Bulgarian English teachers are pretty much uncommon here.

That’s the deal here, 15- 20,000 for a non-native English speaker, 30- 40,0000+ baht for those who know the biological difference between a herbivore and a carnivore.---w00t.gif

Herbivore eat plants carnivores eat meat any idiot knows that, and you expect to get 20 thousand more for knowing something that most Thai kids will never learn from you drunken bafoons?

  7. Humans really have done the job on orangutans - destroyed their habitat, hunted them to the brink of extinction, snatched infants for a lucrative market in cute primates and the ultimate indignity: for our amusement we dress them up as ourselves and train them to imitate our behaviour.

Its a depressing reflection on how humanity has no respect for the world and the other living things we share it with.

Orangutans are the distant ancestor of humans as well. These wild primates once roamed freely all over thailand thousands of years ago until they were slaughtered to death which is what is happening right now to wild gibbons and Langurs in Thailand!

  8. Cool. wai2.gif

We are private monks (unaffiliated with any organization) who like to share our experience and support people at novice to advanced levels. Generally we find temples very stiff and formal, not really the kind of atmosphere we prefer. After all, the Buddha taught ultimate formlessness and emptiness; all the formalities were added later on.

    t

Yes I find that FOREST MONESTARIES are the best place to get away from the congested nosey polluted thai's and meditate for a while and relax with nature. Like in Ubon MUCH RESPECT to true monks!

  9. So many decent women in Isaan get overlooked because some moronic westerner falls in love with a dirty tramp from Pattaya.

Young girls in town aspire to the same lowlife of selling there bodies for money because they see how an uneducated ugly 30+ woman can get a 30 thousand baht drinking/gambling salary and giant house in isaan from some gullible western loser...Thank god i'm SINGLE and BROKE!. lol

  11. the AEC doesnt permit the free movement of labour the same way as the EU. It is supposed to be relaxed visas within the ASEAN area, as well free movement of skilled labour. Therefore your tesco worker (menial employee) is unlikely to be replaced right away.

Those menial employees right now at Tesco are getting double the salary of their counterparts in the Phillipines.

If I were an outback Thai, I would start a revolution or civil war once my job was overtaken!

  12. I learned this at about age 5:

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me."

If someone calls me names, really, I don't care. Big deal. For example, I've been called whitey, cracker, honky, gringo, howlee, SOB, pr**k and loads of other stuff -- some of it pretty nasty and demeaning.. Am I offended to the point that I want the government to step in a control speech??? Absolutely not! I just understand that people who indulge in name calling have issues. I can choose to let it bother me, or to let it go. I tend to let it go.

Now, if your feelings are so easily hurt, consider developing a thicker skin and a tougher emotional outlook. Or consider seeking counseling from a mental health professional to deal with your feelings of inadequacy.

However, I do believe that individuals should have legal recourse to file suit in civil court over defamation issues. I don't believe that defamation belongs in the realm of criminal justice imho (as is the case in Thailand and The Philippians), but people should have the ability to clear their name and seek damages in the case of outright lies that are publicly disseminated regarding that individual.

Resorting to calling people after animals is really rather banal, and you are right people should grow a thicker skin.

Hate speech against westerners is usually with us poor guys they call us bird poop, so when say that

I say " Mai Pen Rai, Kee Nok Bin Dai, tae kee kong kwai loey nai prathet thai talod pai!

    That really gets them speechless!
