My wife owns a market shop in what at times is very busy and she often jokes with a hint of seriousness about I go look after the shop for a while why she goes to eat etc. When I tell her it’s illegal for me to do so she really hasn’t any idea that it is so, but from what I read of what Ubonjoe has just said then it seems possible that I can do so if I apply for a work permit under the marriage extension. Am I reading what you say correctly.
If your wife's market stall is a registered company with registered capital and a few registered Thai employees then you can apply for a work permit, but not sure "market seller" is professional allowed for foreigners.

That piece of road in Khon Kaen is absolutely insanely dangerous. Drivers come down the bridge at full speed (100, 120 km/h), knowing they have to brake just a few hundred meters further. It has nothing to do with poor road design, but with poor driving skills.

This site indicates it is (see "IN CASE OF FOREIGNER RENEW THAI DRIVING LICENCE [BY YOURSELF] FIVE-YEARS DRIVING LICENCE" section at the bottom of the page):
https://www.dlt.go.th/en/two-year-license/
I don't think it was the last time I renewed my 5-year license (a year ago), but then I seem to remember that it was changed to be required. It's something that may differ depending on which Land Transport Office you use. As the medical certificate costs only 100-150 and takes less than 5 minutes to get, it may be better to get it than show up at the LTO and need it.As far as I know it was changed recently to be required.

JoeW and many others
Just a word of thanks to you all and all the very helpful advise and yes today the 10th May successfully renewed my 5 year Thai Drivers License and pleased that that I did the on line test and video before I went.
In the end they sorted out the foreign problem and the staff at my local DLT office could not have been more helpful and yes just taking everything in and yes a laugh and joke at the right times never went amiss.
Indeed there were people upstairs who had booked an appointment but had to view the video and the questions and yes indeed the main problem, apart from registration as a foreigner for a couple of weeks was the medical certificate to be in line with maximum 30 day period.
Many were this morning on 3 terminals downstairs viewing the video and then getting appointment further down the line.
Yes the physical tests and pleased that the rope last time for the reaction test not required but the accelerator and brake pedals but had the matching pins to do and found this really weird, even though they explained it and read about it.
However, all very professional indeed and within minutes of my photo been take and had my new license.
Always a relief for any kind of tests in our lifetime and like the permission to stay and until everything is stamped and sorted then mentally and physical really tired but great to come home and relax after a very long but very pleasant drive home.
Good luck all and yes a lot of background work is needed.Happy you got it all sorted! Be careful on the road ????

Quick last question the doctors certificate can a local clinic do one or is there a standard form and not sure how long one is vlid for and so many thanks again all,
Every clinic carries the form. It's the standard "5 diseases" form, which is used for many other occasions.

Joe I managed to get in and yes just passed and the video and stating passed and quoting my passport number and you can download this and save the certificate and mentioning about queue number, though there is not one and at moment can not download or screenshot to a mobile but could to my one drive on my computer.
How does one print this off and still think you have to go in to DLT with it for an appointment. Is this correct and thanksI think you better take a screenshot of the screen or take a picture with your phone ????
You need to print it out, and take it to the DLT. Depending on where you live, you either can just walk in and get a new license or you need to get an appointment for a later time. In my case, I walked in, waited 5 minutes and got a new license. Good luck ????

I have the cert. of residence from immigration. So far, so good. I know I need a new med. certificate to prove fit to drive. OK. But, this 1 hour video is a puzzle for me. If I watch it now (no appointment with DLT yet), how do I prove I watched it? Is a certificate emailed to us? Can I print a document proving I've completed the course? The last piece in the jigsaw.
After you watched the video and passed the test, you will get a QR code. You need to print it out and take it with you. My DLT office said it is valid for 60 days. Not sure about other DLT offices. Some people have issues with the video when using FireFox or Safari. I recommend using Google Chrome.

Yeah, but no worries. It's not really an online training. Same questions at the beginning of the test, during the test and at the end of the test. It's fairly simple, but you need to watch it for 1 hour. No way to skip it. The first 40 minutes or so are subtitled, the last 20 minutes are actually really nice. Two native speakers in a nicely made video explaining about the rules and regulations in Thailand. Really well-made.

Unfortunately foreign residents cannot use the DLT Smart Q system, but depending on where you live you can either walk-in or go to the local DLT to make an appointment. Don't forget to do the online training at home, so you can skip the video at the local DLT. https://www.dlt-elearning.com/Home/ForeignerIndex

Have you tried the email and all the number shown on this page.
https://medium.com/thailand-pass/where-do-i-contact-for-thailand-pass-support-1636daadc180
That number is now out of service. You need to call 1422.

Did you try another browser? Chrome or Firefox should do the trick. Plus it's three questions before you can click play, not two.

I'm struggling to find anything available here that specifically says LL-04. Closest is C3 (Porsche approved) which is ACEA C3 which manual says is an alternative spec.
I don't think its as simple as sticking in any 5W-30...
Voltronic 5w-30 is LL-04 specified and is available in Thailand ????

But, what about service?
Chevrolet revamped their dealers into AC/DELCO repair shops. Service should be okay.

Yeah the Honda truck isn't sold in Thailand because of the extra cost of its suspension and it would be import taxed by Thailand different to.
Doesn't the Nissan NP300 have a coil spring set up in the rear on its top model?

Can you detail a bit more?
You changed the shocks?? Were they originally included already?
You changed the springs?? From existing to??
No, they weren't originally included. We have our own aftermarket part shop so we did all the work ourselves. These are the details of all the parts fitted:
1. Shocks (front and rear): Ironman Foamcell Pro
2. Springs (front): Ironman Comfort Springs (they will lift the truck around 2 inches in the front, leveling the truck).
3. Control Arms: Ironman Control Arms
There are a few shops in Bangkok and Pattaya that sell the whole set of the above-mentioned parts, but should be around 35,000 to 45,000 baht (without the control arms) depending on the shop and the promotion they are running. The control arms can range from 12,000 to 16,000 baht again depending on the shop.
As far as I know there is no retrofit kit available for the PXIII Ranger to change the leaf springs to shocks in the rear.
But from my own experience, the car now handles much better and is much less bumpy. Still cannot compare to our Landcruiser or Accord, but it's a truck after all.

I also have a Ford Ranger XLT 2020. I changed my shocks with Ironman 4x4 shocks (comfort ride) and also changed the springs. The ride is much better and less bumpy, also the truck is leveled now. However, as pointed out by many users, if you want a really comfortable ride, it's better to look at something else than a pick-up.

The 6 speed automatic is tried and tested and reliable. The 2.2 liter diesel as well. Shouldn't have much issues with it. The service by the dealer kind of depends ont he dealer. No real standard, it's kind of a hit or miss.

Honda Garage or training center in Bangkok (all cars Honda, wearing Honda poloshirts etc).
-
A Ford Ranger 2.2 takes around 7.7 liter for a full oil change. Shell Helix 5W30 is more than good enough, but I always use Ford Motorcraft as it's generally cheaper than Shell.

Thanks JoeW. I took a look briefly at the link you sent but have not tried any of the tests suggested in it but take your point about perhaps having to dismantle body elements to find the source of the problem.
Why is it that you think it should be covered by warrantee? The car is well over a year old, getting on to 2 years since I bought it. Even though it is low kms it is not new. The car has not been modified in any way except to screw on a skid plate just behind the front bumper on top of the plastic one that kept getting ripped off with all the road construction we are being blessed with these days.
Look forward to your reply. thanks again.
If you didn't make any modifications, then Toyota will have to cover all repairs under your warranty. Did you go to Toyota for your periodical maintenance? If you skipped, they might say that your car is out of warranty, but they only have the right to do say so if you missed 3 times.
