  1. Yes, the PM and Govt need to take some responsibility as they do in other countries. They introduce and enforce laws to minimize this occuring. Victoria in Aust reduced their road toll from 1200 per annum to around 300 per annum through policing and safety measures being introduced. That is all part of the responsibility of modern day Govts

This is all very well if you have a population that respects most laws and a Police force that actually upholds them. This is Thailand....land of lawbreakers and an inept Police force.

Someone described them best as a franchise,

Almost a perfect description. Would love some academic to study the parallels between the BIB and KFC / Maccas - but it would be publish & run -

  2. I have heard of a number of false police reports made so tourists would then return home and file loss claims with their personal or travel insurance. The insurance companies require some 'proof of loss' and a police report is the best.

Seems I heard in Pattaya a number of years ago that the Police were so over run with this kind of report that they issued a public warning that false claim filers would be prosecuted.

Any links to this warning? Pls post if you have -

  3. One of the best beaches on the Eastern Seaboard is Somprasong at Ban Amphur - about 1/2 way to Bang Saray.

Go through Ban Amphur, at about 159 km on Sukhumvit there is a post office on the right. Go down the small soi beside the PO, abt 1/2 km is Somprasong. Large beach, chairs, drinks & food.

PM me for accommodation in the area.

  4. They should do more than that.

Ban all old cars, ban all the "first-car buyer subsidy programs", and make driving (and owning a car) expensive as hell, just like it is in Singapore.

    Trafic chaos solved.

If you like Singapore better there are daily flights leaving every day.

6.46 am - They should do more than that.

    4 minutes!

    They're out early today!

  5. OP will sink half a million euros in the names of unknown nominees provided by a lawfirm? Not a wise move i would say. Sooner or later you will get cheated.

Much less chance than with wife / gf. Wfs & gf can disappear in 5 minutes - get a law co thats been around a while, & got references.

WHEN YOU FIND ONE, POST NAME HERE & ASK FOR FEEDBACK - SOME MAY PM YOU as many comments re Pattaya lawyers (Particularly farangs) could be considered libellous - even tho true.

  6. "forecasting suggests it may be raining in some parts of Bangkok this month but the rainfall won't be huge"

I wonder if speaker is aware that almost none of the last floods were from rain that fell in Bangkok?

Perhaps somebody could send him a map of Thailand. The Chao Praya drains perhaps more than half of it -

  7. Yes, there is a baht bus going that way.

Service not that frequent but it goes.

Once it hits Sukhumvit, the journey is over.

Then you can walk (not that far) or take a Sukhumwit (white) baht bus, also 10 baht.

    20 Baht AFAIK

  8. If you've ever been in a kitchen when the chef throws the krapow leaves into the pan then you'll know what this is about! It's like mustard gas!

Sent from my Nexus 4 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

That smell should be banned under the International Convention on Chemical Weapons.

Not so long ago the UK terrorist squad were called out to a small lane in London - which they later discovered to be behind a Thai restaurant -

  9. So now we have it........................... for any aspiring countries that want to invade Thailand, here are your top tips :

1.. Invade when it's raining. (all cadet training is cancelled in my school if it's raining)

    2. Set up Somtam tables at the side of the battle field, then just pick em off with snipers when they come to buy.

    3. Start frying up basil leaves and let the resulting wind drift towards their lines.

    4. Don't worry about their fighter jets as they have no guns on them.

    5. If you see an airship, don't panic, it doesn't work.

    6. Just ask if you can invade (sorry visit) and then get em to sign a pact with you. (please note, you have to be winning, otherwise they will sign for the other team)

    Easy, peesy. smile.pngtongue.png

    7. Don't mention the (war) aircraft carrier.
