  1. Well Macb,

Just a few loose ends to tie up in Blighty, and I should be building our house come this October, in Phetchabun.

Gonna live there semi permanently at first, 6 months perhaps.

Will have to visit you then mate, I didn't have time on the last trip, 13 days not quite enough.

  2. There is no chanoot with any land in Khao kor, people often pass on their plot to a son daughter etc,.

The land is owned by the king/government/army, not to sure which, with that it carries a large risk. The only land you or rather your Thai half should consider is land with a chanoot title deed.

Personally, I would not buy any land otherwise.

    Hope that helps a little

    BTW,

What are you planning on using the land for?

and are you saying that it is 100,000 baht per rai?

  3. Mrs has been asked if she would like some land 10 rai @ 100k / rai up in the hills of Khao Ko Phetchabun.

I dont have any other details ie near main roads other villages, utilities etc. Wondered if someone may know if the figures mentioned look reasonable :D or outlandish? :D

    Thanks :o

Khao Kor is a national park, and therefor with any land there will not have a chanoot title deed. I know the area very well.

I assume you know what a chanoot title deed is?

  6. Don't worry about the verdict, because I'll post it here as soon as we find out.

I too knew Steve and Gin, We went to koh chang together in November,

I can say that he was a great guy, who could speak fluent Thai, and a real gentleman,

I have recieved a few phone calls over the last week keeping me updated with the progress of Gin,

of which I cannot or will not post here, but it's looking like she was the one who ordered the killing, the gun as you rightly say was found , but prior to his kiling she had gone home to Udon Thani,

She actually phoned NZ to enquire about Steve , before the killing as it was ordered for the 19th, not the 20th. She went to udon to make it look that it had nothing to do with here.

If she is found to be guilty I hope the law comes into full force.

Steve was a genuine nice guy, I was due to see him in a few weeks, he will be dearly missed

  7. I flew with Qatar airlines last year, they are a 5 star airline, the planes have tv,s in the seats, food better than average, for airline food.

The airport is small, and crowded, mke sure you use the toilet on the plane, otherwise it is a thai toilet in the terminal, which is smelly dirty and disgusting

You have to consider your connection times , to make a decision on what airline to use,

I am travelling in June with Etihad, 2 hour stopover in Abu Dhabi, both ways, so I can put up with it because of the short time that I will be the terminal

  8. I knew the guy..... We went to Koh Chang together in November, with our partners.

A very genuine nice guy, I can't believe what has happened to him.

If you were to no him, he was a great guy, who could speak fluent Thai,

and always spoke politely to Thai,s and Falang alike.

    This is very sad.

  9. LADIES YOU WILL LOVE THIS

NB : YOU MUST HUM THE TUNE " I WILL SURVIVE" WHILST READING THE

    POEM.........

At first I was afraid, I was petrified

When you said you had 10 inches, Lord I almost died

But I'd spent oh so many years just waiting for a man that long

    That I grew strong

And knew that I could take you on

But there you are... another lie,

I was geared up for a Big Mac and you've brought me a French fry

I should have known it was bullsh*t, just a sad, pathetic dream

Should have known no anaconda would be lurking in those jeans...

Go on now go... walk out the door

Don't you promise me 10 inches then turn up with only 4

Weren't you a prat to think that I wouldn't catch you out

Don't you know we're only joking when we say size doesn't count!

    (Chorus)

I will survive, I will survive

Cos as long as I have batteries my sex life is gonna thrive!

I will always have good sex with a handful of latex

I will survive, I will survive. . .hey hey

It took all my self-control not to laugh out loud

When I saw your little wiener standing tall and proud

But to hel_l with all your ego's and to hel_l with all your needs

Now I'm saving all my lovin' for a cordless multi-speed

Go on now go... you'd better flee

Last time I saw a pr*ck that small was on my brother... he was 3

I should have asked for confirmation, should have asked for

    referees

Then I wouldn't have you waving that wee winky thing at me

Go on now go... just hit the track

Don't you bring me home no tiddlers 'cos I'll always throw them back

The only thing that I could do with a pr*ck as small as yours

Is to stick it with a tooth-pick, dip it in tomato sauce

    Chorus)

I will survive, I will survive

Cos as long as I have batteries my sex life is gonna thrive!

I will always have good sex with a handful of latex

I will survive, I will survive. . .hey hey

Go on now go... get out of my sight

I'm going back to my appliance 'cos I know it's length is right

And if I ever see your tiny truncheon standing at my door

You'll be counting up your inches as you pick them off the floor

    Go on now go...

    :o:D:D

  10. [

The weekend runs with Jack Golf go to Ban Laem rather than Poipet. The bus ride is longer by about 30 minutes each way, but the waiting line is only as long as the number of your fellow travellers. And there are no filthy beggars to contend with.

Sorry to dissapoint you but there ARE beggars at Ban Leam now it seems they have discovered the new crossing like the rest of us also there are now two huge car parks so it is surely going to end up the same as piopet unfortunately :o

  11. When my house was built, I was advised by a local 'expert' that the cost for a single floor house should be in the region of Bht 5,500.00 per square metre. This will, of course, have increased by now so I would guess a maximum of Bht 7,000.00 per square metre will be sufficient, depending upon the quality of materials used.

Is the 7000 baht the price including finishings i.e, shower, doors, tiles, everything exluding furniture?

  12. Yes the father would not agree to sole custody, which would enable them to come to the UK.

But who knows what might happen in the future.

He is happy for the children to live with us once we live in Thailand. One of the kids lives with his parents and one with my wifes parents. Sisaket and Phetchabun

It's been a nightmare, believe me.

  13. Your kids can obtain UK passports iff (if and only if) they are UK citizens. To help answer your question, more information is needed:

    1. Were you married to the kids' mother when they were born?

    2. Are you, the father, a UK citizen "otherwise than by descent"?

    3. Were the kids born in the UK or "qualifying territories"?

    4. Did the mother have indefinite leave to remain in the UK when the kids were born?

    5. Are any of your parents UK citizens?

    6. How long have the kids lived in the UK?

    7. Do the kids have indefinite leave to remain in the UK?

    1, = No

    2= No

    3= No

    4= No

5 = I was born in the UK, The missus qualified having been married and residing in the Uk for 3 years

6 = Never been to the UK

    7= Same as 6

  14. Hi Folk's

The situation is that I am a UK citizen, My Thai wife has recently been granted British Citizenship. We both live in the UK, and her kids who are 6 and 11 live in Thailand. To cut a long story short, the kids are staying in Thailand because now my wife has he British Passport it is time now for us to live in LOS.

    My question is

If the kids wanted to come to the UK tomorrow and get a British passport could they and is it relatively straight forward?

    and

If they decided to come to the uk at say 16 years old would they still qualify for a British Passport. Even though the mother lives in LOS (assuming the mother has sole custody)

    thanks everyone

    and Happy New Year

PS Crossy did you pick your stuff up?
