This man doesn't know when to leave well-enough alone. Yingluck is finished as a political leader but the cretins advising Prayuth seem to want to turn her into a martyr and are doing a pretty good job of doing so. The ham-fisted buffoonery gets worse by the day and it's not lost on those who have supported ( and will continue to support) the various iterations of Thaksin-led parties.

Your absolutely correct. This situation is worrying cos F Troop are fanning the Red flames. As an aside one day with little to do I ventured into the Thai Museum for Corruption in Bangkok. After a brief walk through I asked the young man conducting the tour .... " Is Thaksin Shinawatra the only man guilty of corruption in Thailand?" He smiled sheepishly. Almost the entire exhibition details the ins and outs and ups and downs of Thaksin and virtually nobody else.

With all due respect, no one is claiming that everyone is being asked to show the B20K.   No one is claiming that most are being asked.   No one is even claiming that many are being asked.  So one person saying he wasn't asked means absolutely nothing, and it's beyond absurd to suggest that only those "drunk, in flip flops, shorts, a wife beater tee shirt, my face and body adorned in tattoos with a passport awash with tourist visa stamps" are being asked.   Obviously, a one-time/first-time arrival is not likely to be asked (but actually SHOULD be as they're just as likely, if not even more likely, to constitute the financial "risk" the B20K check supposedly addresses!).

Ok I'll make it easy for you. Look act and dress like a tosser with a passport festooned with immigration stamps and the likelihood is you will be stoped and questioned.

This reminds me of the story about when a blind snake and a blind rabbit met in the woods.  They both said they didn't really know what kind of animal they were so they agreed to feel each other and try to figure it out.  First the snake crawled all over the rabbit and then he said "you are warm and furry and you have big ears and a cotton tail so you must be a rabbit."  Then the bunny felt the snake and said "You ar cold and slimy and slither on the ground and I could not detect any heart beat.  You must be a lawyer."

Good joke. Another .... What's black and brown and looks good on a lawyer? A Doberman. Buzzards are universally recognised and despised.

  4. This says it all ..... It's a well known fact that positions are not only bought in the RTP but in the public service too....

"Deputy police spokesman Pol Maj-General Songpol Wattanachai said the committee would proceed with aspects of police reform, especially the annual police shuffle to avoid an alleged position-buying scandal. He emphasised such a scandal was being probed and it currently remained a “criticism” as there was no proof such a crime had ever taken place and nobody faces legal action."

Another wonderful example of the honorable legal profession....I guess it does not matter what country you are in...disgusting

Sadly Thailand stands head and shoulders above all other countries in blatant judicial corruption. Once in court a judge asked me why did I sign a document proffered my lawyer? I innocently said if I can't trust my lawyer who can I trust? The judge replied ... " Do you trust uneducated bar girls from Isaan ?"

i suspect it has to do with the loans they take to buy the jobs and promotions. if they were fired and had to default on the loans they would become more expensive for all of them.

from a western perspective the whose system runs on corruption and bribery. if one was sacked they could implicate everyone else and there would be no one left to keep us safe.

Agreed. Basically it's a Royal Thai Police 'pyramid' scheme' where bribes are filtered from the bottom of the pile to the top.

silly old coot,   out at 2.00am drunk and alone .....

    list of must do's  ...

never drink alone ....   refrain from drunken binges early into the morning ...

What an inane statement. How about it was 5am and he was being escorted by two ladybugs? You clearly lead a sheltered life.

  10. I would expect that an educated man who had reached the age of 52 would know that 1 or 2 paracetamol would be sufficient to deal with a headache and that taking any more than that would be  unecessary and hazardous. Knowing the Thai's ability to bend the truth I think I would wait for as others say the toxicology report. Who knows maybe he had an existing medical problem?

Khun Prayuth has previously spoken in the US .... recently at the UN general assembly.

I am sorry that you choose to stay here with such negativity,  there may be help for such conditions available either here or in your home country.

Yes I saw the photos. The Thai delegation playing on their mobile phones while he spoke and nobody listened. Oh and don't be sorry for this negativity condition. I found the cure like many others. Yes I abandoned the sinking ship. It's all yours.
