I just paid £450 with Quatar, flying on the 25th March and back on the 18th April - I had to change my dates quite alot as its the Easter holidays and some of the places were quoting 600/700 quid. So what was originally going to be a 2 week holiday, gradually turned into 4 weeks, to save money on the flight - not quite sure how that will work!!! But never mind.

Yes, it is normal, my EMIRATES ticket cost 19,000 baht and 30,300 with tax BKK to LHR. I wish that published air ticket prices included taxes, because it is always a body-blow to hear the full ticket price.

I used to think buying air tickets in the LOS was better value, but now I reckon it is cheaper to purchase tickets in the U.K. Any thoughts on this?

I just paid (sorry cant work out baht right now) £450 for a return flight (heathrow to bkk) - bought in UK and the tax was £132. Pretty high, but obviously not 50% the taxes on all flights have just recently risen again here I beleive.

Just heard this on Radio one news. Its a nice idea about the criminal checks, and I agree that something needs to be done urgently. From my own experience though, I had to get a check done over summer, so that I could take up a placement in a primary school here in Nottingham. The process took so long however, that I ended up missing two weeks as I was unable to go without the correct documents. The next placement is in a different County, and I have just been informed that I will need a whole new check and different set of documents to go into the school.

Fair enough, its a tight(ish) system, but its a huge hassle for all involved - can you imagine trying to implement this in Thailand? Wow, now that would really add some fun to the whole process.

Hi Pollie, well cant offer the best advice as I dont always get the hang of long term relationships but it sounds like the whole thing has been pretty pleasant so far, and at the moment you are moving things up a level right? This is always quite a scary time when you start to question the whole thing, and how you should be acting.

I would say dont get too worried about the whole thing, whatever will happen should happen naturally if its meant to be. If there is a future ahead for you both, then the process will come together smoothly.

It depends on how you want to take things - do you want to rush into a passionate weekend with him, or maybe you should continue to take things slowly to prolong the build up.

We are all different, I personally would prefer to build a relationship over a period of time, rather than rush in, only for it to fizzle out just as quickly as it started.

Whatever the case, im sure if you are yourself, and enjoy your time together things will happen if its meant to be. And if not, at least your having some fun in the meantime!

I would personally love to go out and not drink, but it always goes wrong and I end up having one too many. If you can have fun without drinking, dont drink.
