  1. I tend to agree regarding the cold pizza as it is the first thing that you see when you emerge mush headed and bleary-eyed from wherever you have been sleeping (like underneath the kitchen table).

but, there always has to be a story...once while working in the woods outside of Eugene, Oregon (once reputed to have the most pizza restaurants per capita in the US) we got to the landing at first light and there was the usual hacking, coughing and expectoration typical of hard working and hard drinking loggers while pulling on their cork boots and preparing to enter the afray...then the guy in front of the crummy opened his lunch box and extracted a cold slice of 'Shrimp Boat' pizza, thin crust with a 1 inch layer of canned shrimp as the topping...

people tumbled out of the crew bus retching and heaving at the sight and the smell...tough mofos that can handle almost anything, but (being typically and terminally hung over) they couldn't handle that...

    unforgettable...

Canned shrimp pizza? I ain't eating it (even if it's cold)! Yuck!

    :o:D

  2. I found a gold (unfortunately not real) cigarette holder in the club last night, which I found so incredibly exciting at the time. I kept it and smoked all my cheap cigarettes through it, thinking i looked real good. Unfortunately when I woke up this morning(ish) it was once again lost, along with my new jacket, some money and a bit of my dignity (not too much though) :o

  3. The Dalai Lama has an interesting perspective on the death penalty: As long as a person is alive, he may change his attitudes. Therefore, death penalty is not wise. Let him retain the chance to advance in evolution, or spirituality.

No, I do not have a religion, but honor Truth wherever I find it. Buddhism, for me is an attitude, philosophy, way of life, and I remain eclectic.

Also, reincarnation would suggest that we have all been there before, or will be in the future, for it is experience, of every kind, that the soul desires, whether or not this is pleasing for the personality.

There are infant souls, souls that are babies, young souls, mature souls, old souls. etc.

This planet is about learning love and compassion, mastering----- keeping in balance money, power, and sex, with higher energies.

When we judge another, we invite their experience into our lives.

That same-sameness as Buddha-Nature, pure consciousnes, Christ energy, or whatever a culture wants to call it, is the only principle that animates us all, and suggests that we are One Self. Therefore, what energy I send to my seeming neighbor, I send to myself, for I am also part of the Totality.

The above are some of the lessons I am trying to learn, so that I can deal with such issues.

    Chok dee to all!

I like this post, and the way of thinking. However, this murder case really shocked and moved me, and I cant help but feel deep down that these guys should be executed - ok, so I dont agree with capital punishment, but I do think that these two scumbags will eventually have an easy ride in whichever prison they are in - if they are as simple as I was lead to believe, I think they will eventually have some kind of ok life in their Thai prison. However, if Katherines parents would prefer this kind of sentence, then so be it.

  4. my parents are at my house in phucket. i am playing a video game with my thai girl friend who is uni educated and works in an office. i scored a goal against her in a football game so she threw the controller across the room.

i suppose this was a "thai" moment for her.

how can i explain to my parents that her doing this does not make her a complete idiot, and that things like this are common among thai people for some reason unknown to farang.

Dont know, I mean, that is the kind of thing I would do and im not Thai - maybe yr parents will just realise that she gets a little bit mardy now and then - some people are just like that, crikey I have my moments that for sure. Maybe let her win next time!

  5. Cant really help you out with regards to Brighton, never been but have some mates living there - they moan about prices, but all have decent jobs so its not too bad. You could always come to Nottingham - weve got a spare room, if your skint youd fit right in, as we are all poor students - we could live on baked beans and kebabs and huddle round candles to keep warm. Theres 5 girls in the house so im sure you would be made to feel more than welcome! :o

Is Nottingham not the city with the best female to male ratio in the UK?

Dont know - is that more girls than guys? If so, it could explain the current dry patch I have been going through :D
