  1. Here's the choice:

    A. Make the best use of your footballing talents and earn more in a year than most of us earn in a lifetime. Use the huge cash to do what you want.

    B. Make the best use of your footballing talents and then declare that you're gay. Get kicked out of the team and the job that you love. See your earnings change from massive to minimum wage. Finish up cleaning toilets for a living. Become a hero to the internet warriors who have neither the talent nor the courage that you possess but who are willing to sit and whine about your lack of willingness to make sacrifices for them.

  2. Well, my american friends took me to Bobs to impress me on american food,

everything was drenched in ketchup, nuff said

I'm assuming you mean Bob's Big Boy? It's a low end chain of restaurants. Hardly a place to take somebody to impress them.

Bob's Big Boy (we called it Shoney's) impressed me when I was about 10 years old. They were the first ones to do the double layer cheesebugers and they always gave you a free comic book starring the Big Boy.

How big is Bob's Big Boy? Eye-wateringly big? Or just a minor shuffle?

  3. Air India pilots suspended for leaving cabin crew in charge of plane while they slept in business class

Two Air India pilots have been suspended after reporting to leave a plane on autopilot in the hands of cabin crew while they slept in business class.

The pilots left the cockpit for 40 minutes while they had a nap, leaving two flight attendants in charge of flying the plane who accidentally turned off the autopilot, The Times of India reports.

The two pilots are reported to have rushed back from their seats to steer the plane back to safety once they realised the auto-pilot had been turned off.

An Air India source said the crew members’ actions “made a mockery of air safety”.

“It is standard procedure to ensure the presence of a second person in the cockpit if the pilot is not able to operate the aircraft. But what actually happened after this made a mockery of air safety,” the source told The Times of India.

The four crew members on the Bangkok to Delhi flight have been suspended, and Air India has admitted in a statement today that there was “over stay of the cabin crew in the cockpit”.

However, it claims it was the co-pilot not the cabin crew who switched off the auto-pilot, saying “due to distraction, the co-pilot touched the auto pilot disconnect button momentarily. But the same was connected back.”

An inquiry about the incident is now being conducted by India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGVA). Arun Mishra, director general of DGVA, said: “Following a safety violation, the airline has already suspended the people in question. We are conducting an inquiry into the matter.”

  4. Laws aren't necessarily LOGICAL. In Thailand. Or anywhere. I have a source for my opinion. You don't.

I hope you are right and they drop this homosexual test business.

Also your idealistic notion that this law as now developing is designed to ease discrimination is a big stretch. Note the issue with PARENTAL rights. More like: lack of.

This is a VERY SERIOUS issue both for sexual minorities with existing children and those who may wish them in the future.

I really don't think Thailand is anywhere near the level of consciousness where a REAL equality scheme for sexual minorities has any chance of passing.

IF they had really been serious about this, they would have introduced a REAL marriage equality proposal. It ain't rocket science. Over 10 countries internationally have now done it. For any country getting into this issue now, that's the natural modern solution, as was done in New Zealand.

They'll get round to it when it suits them. I suspect that they're completely uninterested in the opinions of frenetic foreigners.

  5. Pretty sure there is no talk of a homosexual test (it would serve no purpose) but rather some kind of test / benchmark to help see if the relationship is real and somebody is not trying to scam something such as people pretending to have a real marriage for Visas. However, still not cool as they don't do it for heterosexual couples ... the again many places do require a consummation (intercourse) to make the marriage fully legitimate and it is impossible for two physically normal people of the same sex to have intercourse ... at least by definition.

There is no talk of a homosexuality test?

No, there IS talk of a homosexuality test according to the article in the OP.

As yet, nobody has presented any news source saying this report from the Nation about homosexuality tests is not true. Assuming then there is some truth to it, we are still waiting for more DETAILS on exactly what they mean.

    >Worse, a "homosexuality test" was repeatedly mentioned as precondition for relationship registration under this law.

I think you need to re-attend Logic 101

  6. Its called freedom of speech, a concept woefully lacking in this community.

Freedom of speech refers to political speech, not name-calling and or vulgarities.

I suppose we're all entitled to our own opinion, and, apparently, within reasonable constraints, to voice it.

I say repress freedom of speech and suffer the consequences.

If you want freedom of speech you could always start your own forum...

  7. a "homosexuality test" was repeatedly mentioned as precondition for relationship registration under this law.

I imagine some asking the applicant.. "are you now, or have you ever been a practicing homosexual"

    sound familiar to anyone ??

Can you give any references for that? I have been following this for some time and I have never heard this mentioned before.

I can't help wondering if its a written test, an oral exam, or a practical one. Hopefully its practical and multiple choice!

    Depends on the examiner:

I am an American was put in in reference with dealing with Islamic banks. Do you support them or are you just anti-american?

your cheap diversion does not work. my posting was clearly in reference to the rubbish you posted and i clearly mentioned that! this is what i said

    te class="ipsBlockquote">

    >and you think because you are an American you can post misleading rubbish such as "KrungSri offers 3.6% on a regular savings account with 2 withdrawals allowed per

    month." ?

by the way, whether i support Islamic, Buddhist, Christian, agnostic or the Savings&Loan Bank of the United Papua New Guinea Headhunters is irrelevant and none of your business.

    next intelligent remark please laugh.png

Here it comes. My apologies again for misquoting from memory. That is never a good idea. According to the link you sent me the actual savings rate is only 2.6% at KrungSri. Thanks for setting that straight on the forum. I should have checked, but my intent was to show the OP that there are other options. To answer the question, yes, if I were an American Muslim, I probably would deal with an Islamic bank. But I'm not. What is your next venomous remark?

It wasn't venomous. It was a simple question.
