    Just leave the body out and let the vultures pick him apart.

    How about the billions of $ he and his family stole from the country? They should go after that now.

    Not even the vultures would want this piece of scum. They'd feel insulted.

    I lost my respect for Singapore. They are mercenary enough to harbour him and his ilk for money.

    His daughter and family live the life of Riley in Malaysia.

    Single use, throw away is ok, but they can be made of paper. The utensils are obviously more difficult and should probably be real utensils, but then there is the safety issue.

    But business class and higher get real (dangerous) cutlery. I do enjoy this but why assume the bulk head pax won't be terrorists? Plus if a plastic knife can cut your meat, it can can also injure a person.

    100% of the Nigerians that stand in Bangkok Sukhumvit sois 3-15 at night trying to push drugs onto passers by - like the ones that operate out of Spankey's bar on Suk Soi 13 -  are criminal drug pushers and pimps. These are the people whose bad actions give Nigerians and other Africans a bad name.

    Never met an honest or pleasant Nigerian. I lived and worked in Lagos for some years. Other Africans don t like Nigerians either.

    First visit in 2002:Great back then. You could actually get pictures of the temples, bas reliefs, and sculptures without tourists in the way. Revisited in 2008 with my first digital camera to get better quality pictures :Was virtually impossible to get 'tourist free' pictures at the major temples. Can't even imagine what it looks like now :a circus with hordes of Chinese in every frame.

    I lived in S R. from 2004 to 2007. It was fantastic to visit Angkor. Early morning visits to Ta Phrom. I revisited S.R. in 2013. There was no chance to get to Ta Phrom and enjoy the peace and quiet. It now was noise and masses of people. They now even allow buses into historical park. Time for tourist nos. to go down.

    Arrives in UK, if hadn't been nabbed here, thinking he can show he's going to Munich and then disappears in UK and when/if caught later starts the claim to stay and the stupid UK will supply a lawyer

    ( free ) to fight his case.

    Don't worry, Germany is a magnet for Syrian migrants.

    When I see pics on TV what is left of Syrian towns I would also leave.

  6. "1st; Cambodia is NOT cheaper than thailand,  You'll need a 1 year extension ( are you over 55?) thats $300/year. If your not over 55, how will you get a 1 year extension unless your working>  You could get an EG ( looking for work) 6 month extension but after 7 months u need reapply an start all over."

    I lived and worked in Siem Reap some years ago. Even then Cambodia was expensive. Our modest company paid house cost 1000 $US. You get way more for it in Bangkok nowadays. Sure you can eat cheaply at the local market if you have a very robust digestive system.

    Siem Reap is a tourist town, prices are aimed at tourists. You will pay those tourist prices too.

    If your income is in £££, you need to convert to US$. Will that be better than converting to Baht?

    I doubt one week in S.R. will actually be sufficient to see that the grass is not greener ......

    We aren't immigrants to Thailand and are here on 12 months approval only. You can't compare us to EU citizens in the UK, it's chalk and cheese.

    You may not be an immigrant but you continue to live here year after year. And why would this give you the right to complain about Thai immi rules?

    If you consider the rules unfair, Eucador or Nicaragua or Panama may be the answer?

    I do not believe this. Having just returned to UK after living in Thailand with my family for 9 years and seeing all the things here telling EU citizens to apply for status to stay here. The government here is bending over backwards for them. Its simply either a mistake or she has been arrogant or on purpose not provided the required documents and its that simple. She has the right to appeal. Just another attention seeker.

    She just does what all the TM30 whingers do who I see on this forum, in the daily paper, public gatherings, Twitter etc.  Or are those not "attention seekers"?

    2. Too old to move and start again;

    3. Procrastination and gotten used to the uncertainty;

    4. Hoping it changes; (which I doubt)

    5. What to do with Thai wife and/or kids; (they are now a liability)

    6. Just to lazy to do anything other than moan;

    7. Hoping it does not affect them later as they can still wiggle for now.

    Not to forget learning a new language e.g. Spanish.

    Believe such a test is normal in any hospital - even had such to qualify for a bladder operation at a government facility.  For my normal hospital it will be BP/computer vision/computer pressure/manual eye test before any opthamologist visit.  Cost will be more at some facilities but believe all run the same tests.

    This may be.  If they do it for free no problem. Why pay for something which is not relevant to the condition. Whether I can read the nos. or not has nothing to do with my tearduct.   It doesn't get done in Singapore, nor at the specialist I use at an eye clinic back home.

  11. I went to see Dr. Keerati today. My impression was very good esp. as he suggested a way to hopefully avoid surgery. There are drops to reduce/prevent excessive tearing. These can be used until I leave this world if the drops work. In addition I need to get the tearduct flushed every 2 to 3 months.

    This was good news for me, and I will give it a go.

    Dr Keerati pointed out that his colleague (Dr Nattawut?) would do the op as he has more experience.

    I bought the meds from Bum despite being overpriced.

    The imho rip off is that this pseudo eye check they do without asking appeared on the bill with 649 Bht. I didn't need it nor want it and I stopped when they wanted me to read some nos. on the wall. Beware.

     style takeaway nearby.

    Yeah, delicious beef chow mein and similar. I'm serious although I'm not British. May be we should open a shop. ????

  13. I detest garlic, don't like fish sauce,

    sugar and MSG in every dish, oily/greasy food, and my system can't handle spicy food. There is not much left for me. On top of the above comes hygiene at street food stalls. I used to be able to watch them from the apt. I stayed in when I arrived many years ago.

    I cook myself and I don't suffer from allergy attacks.

    Reason for retirement in Thailand was not Thai "cuisine".
