Taking your arm and leading you away?

He was ordered to be locked up in a room by a private company (BFS looks like the airport management company)
I wouldn't let a private company lock me up in a room.
This is the government form they use to inform people that they are denied entry. To be valid it does of course have to be signed by an Immigration Officer. So if this is the only paper they gave him, your friend was never legally ordered to leave Thailand.
BFS = Bangkok Flight Service. It is a services company.

A visa cannot be transferred. You have use both passports on entry to the country if you have a valid multiple entry visa in your old passport to use it for entry to the country until it expires.
On the first departure from the country you will show both passports and immigration will stamp you out of the country in the new one after transfering your entry stamp to it.
On my 1st dep. from Bkk with the new p.port airport immigration transferred the stamp to the new p.port. No need to get it done at CW or wherever you normally go.

Yes they are.
It only the 3 countries using the online visa application system that are not doing them any more.
You can still get one at 3 nearby consulates.
But the rule seems to be that you can only apply in e.g. Belgium if you are a Belgium national or if you can provide proof that you are resident.
No use for a Brit visiting Belgium or any other country like e.g. Germany or Switzerland, Austria to get a Thai visa.

Ubonjoe, I just checked on the website of the Thai Consulat in Antwerp and they want a copy of your ticket (go and return) for a non immigrant O single entry. That's why I fear they might make a problem because I don't have a visa to cover the last 3 months of my stay then.
Is the letter from embassy/consulat no longer a possibility for prove of your financial situation?
" I just checked on the website of the Thai Consulat in Antwerp and they want a copy of your ticket (go and return) for a non immigrant O single entry. "
I have come across this in the past.
Yet the consulate I deal with just accepts my ticket back to Thailand. I have a ticket BKK-MUC-BKK. This was never questioned. I apply for non O multi entry.
Just ask them.

Australia.
I very much doubt they offer PR and free medical to a 90 year old non-Aussie. He may no longer be alive by the time he gets a reply.
Apart from that, Australia is no lowcost country.

What about the other countries bordering Thailand, also other countries in Asia like The Philipines compared to Thailand.
Also, what other countries if any, has retirees doing these nonsensical 90 day reports?
What is better in the neighboring countries or Philippines? They also change their rules at the drop of a hat if it is to their advantage. Plus these countries are still very backward. Healthcare? 90 day report is no issue for me. I go on a break and visit another country. Have done this for 15 years.

But I think airports do this upon request and payment by the airline. Nothing is free in this world, definitely not at world airports.
Correct. Therefore no airline is preferable. They all get you a wheelchair at Bkk. Don't bank on it in Muscat or Munich on arrival.

One of the times I boarded at Bangkok Thai Air used a lift to load 4 Of us in wheelchairs into the aircraft.
I highly recommend Thai Air for elderly and disabled people.
Not the airline provides the service but the airport.

Can you name these countries?
Would be interested to hear.

But, alas, no more multi-entry non-o's from there, it would seem.☹️
Multi entry nonO's need embassy approval no matter where you go in Europe. Hull would only issue the visa with ok from Thai embassy. Check the website or call and you will find out.

For pensioner (aged 50 or over) : A copy of pension statement if the applicant is a pensioner, or a copy of 1-month bank statement showing your income from pension, or 3-month bank statement of at least £10,000
This has been the financial requirement when applying in Munich Thai consulate for a while.
They now have a few add. requirements.

Thanks for the advice elviajero - I amd glad to hear that and I will pass that on.
Regarding the health insurance, because he travels back and forth every year and still 'resides' in Australia, he gets a new Travel Insurance Policy each time he visits Thailand and he will continue to do the same going forward. You can get Travel Insurance for up to 12 months at a time, which includes more than enough Medical Insurance, as long as you reside in Australia and have both a departure and return ticket etc.
At the moment the wife and I only visit for a month each time and we do the same, but in the future (after getting the age pension) we will be doing the same every 12 months or so too. I am assuming that Travel Insurance issued in by a recognised company Australia would comply with the Thailand requirements, but if you think not please let me know.
Travel insurance does not equal health insurance.

So yet another office setting their own rules? I can't apply to renew my annual O multi based on marriage unless I'm a UAE resident? I've never heard of an embassy or consulate only dealing with residents of that country before. I guess that would make the Savannakhet consulate a ghost town if they applied the same rule.
This rule applies to many consulates. All continental Europe Thai missions require residency of the country you apply from.

What is the relevance of EU residency laws to Thailand visa laws, and the visa laws in other nearby countries?
If Thailand's visa laws are now a problem for you, there is no need to go back to your home country, or any other country in the EU.
There are many nearby countries offering all Thailand offers, but with less requirements, restrictions, and bureaucracy.
Sometimes the grass is greener, if you actually go and take a look at the grass. ????
The relevance is that you can't just barge into any country without meeting requirements. Not even in "united Europe".
Neighboring country? I worked in Cambodia and in Vietnam. Cambodia is a filth hole in every respect, Vietnam was not pleasant to work there. Can't imagine to live there. I'm not wealthy enough to get PR in Singapore without having worked there.

Singapore has been doing fingerprinting for some time. No traveller complained about surly IOs there. Or about the fact that they do fingerprinting. Thailand does it, there is a never ending moan.

You all put the IO in the "bad category". But what makes you so sure the OP is telling you the truth?I very much doubt any official would be so stupid to make such a dubious offer.

It may sound harsh, but could I get a visa to live in the US if I can't meet requirements?
Do you really think it is a good idea to shunt your mother from one foreign country to the next? It won't help her mental state. Why not take her home to a familiar surrounding?

Err, it was the embassy that cut off the expat registration and information programme (sorry, it was so long ago that I forget the proper name), now they want someone else to do their communicating for them for free.
What actual expat services do they offer now, not visas nor passports (apart from emergency travel documents)?
Maybe they negotiate these
famous trade deals for post Brexit. No time left for expats.

I have no complaint about Suvarnabhumi. I always got treated in a professional way. On a recent departure with my new p.port I had my visa details transferred to new p.port organized by a friendly IO and handled by a very pleasant lady IO.
When I arrived at my home airport in Europe I had my p.port thrown back at me with by a miserable looking IO.

Please don't spread misinformation. You can't get a PR as you already have a EU passport which gives you full rights to everything and no one can kick you out their country, it's all governd by EU laws. Only way to kick someone out is exiting the EU a la Brexit - but that's nothing you can blame on the third party country.
https://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/residence/residence-rights/index_en.htm
Take the time to read this info. You will be surprised that FoM has many limitations and rules. All is fine while you work. The pic changes for retirees. No problem as long as you have money and medical insurance.
And even as an EU citizen you can get PR.
Not me spreading wrong info but you being misinformed.
