  1. Whilst the council should take responsibility and at least apologize to the parents, the mother should also shoulder a portion of blame for not ensuring her daughter was properly restrained in the car. A seatbelt could possibly have saved her life ?

BTW I did express my condolences to the family on the original thread, so don't bash me about it now...

How many of us really make our kids wear seat belts in the car? The problem is that unless you have the child on a booster seat at exactly the right height (which I'm not even sure you can buy here) the belt runs over the child's neck which would also be catastrophic in this kind of situation. Since this accident I've made my boy wear the belt under his arm but around his body, although I'm really not sure if this would secure him.

I'd heard that the parents were starting a private prosecution against the local authority, but haven't heard any more on that.

Are you kidding? I don't think I know a single farang parent who doesn't require kids to buckle up, or have appropriate booster seats installed. Many Thai parents at our school too. My son is a teenager now so he uses regular belts, but ever since the day we took him home from the hospital he's been in a correct age-appropriate seat. We even had an extra seat to install on occasions when a friend was along for the ride. I'm not looking to argue or question anyone's parenting, I just want to encourage every parent to put safety first.

No, I'm really not kidding, I don't know any.

Well now you know we're out there. Im another that makes my kids buckle up and sit in car seat.

  2. I want a lounge chair, I want an umbrella, I want someone to delivery me food, I want to get a massage on the beach, this is why we came here. We want to relax enjoy our self that why they pay all that money to fly here. You are going to lose them slowly, they will never return. Good going Phuket and TAT your screw everything up again.

And will be by those who seek lovely beaches without being forced to rent chair and brollies and having to avoid discarded som tam bags and left over sticky rice.

If you want massage, brolly and lounger go to a special zone - simple.

Tourists ain't all like you Bob, thankfully.

And most tourists don't freely express their self perceived in depth political understanding of the countries like you do Bob.

Enjoy where ever you go next - Lebanon supposed to be nice, you might try there.

No one said that you have to buy a chair. When going alone I put my towel down not far from the chairs and I never had any issues. When I go with wife and kids I always got one for their comfort. So you're saying that you never enjoyed sitting in a lounger with a nice delicious cold beverage served to you while you stared at the waves and took it all in? You must be a dream to hang out with.

  3. Already then. No food vendEr.w00t.gif

    the second side says

    NO

    FOO

    D

    VEN

    DER

Brilliant multi lingual skills in play here. I wonder how badly they stuffed up the other languages.

It's a bit silly to criticise someone for a spelling mistake whilst making one in you own post.

the second "sign" (not side) says

If side was you intended word then it's still incorrect as it doesn't make sense in the context of the OP.

Looks to me as if the picture is composed of 2 images - one on the left side and the other on the right side.

The point canucklehead was making was the poor letter/word breaks which makes this sign look utterly stupid and unofficial. Notice how the left image breaks the words differently from the right?

And by the way... its not double-sided.... notice the arrows at the top point to directions of where the zones are?

  4. You're coveniently forgetting to mention the FEMA camps and the government's cover-up of the ongoing ebola epidemic.

Oh did I? Im sure your FOX news has reported everything you need to know, so no use in me saying anything for you. I assume you miss the good ol' days of Bush jr? I recall he also had issues with FEMA involving Katrina. Don't worry though in less than a couple years Jeb Bush will be your saving grace now that the right wing nut jobs have been busy brainwashing.

Bush Jr and Jeb were/are lackeys for the NWO too. The only remaing hope for America is that Rand Paul will be elected president and restore liberty and the gold standard.

LoL... love it. The last thing america needs is an Ultra Conservative in office.

  6. Why in the name of all this is holy would a strengthening economy devalue its cursoucerency ?? Am I missing something here ?

You are missing that the US economy isn't really strengthening, thats just an illusion created by the illuminati and the banksters to fool us all....in fact the US economy is in a deep depression and its currency is about to go to zero. The only way to protect yourself is of course to buy GOLD. The US cant withstand competition from the asians, like that Chinese company called Apple, for example.

How amazing that the whole world is misinformed about the American economy but you are not and you know the "real" truth. Where do you get such accurate and reliable information?

A good source for that type of info is Mike Adams at Natural News dot com. Basically, Obama wrecked the economy, is now force feeding us GMO's and vaccines, and soon will be feeding our brains to zombies.

Oh yes... rights right... blame Obama for all your problems. GMO's are world wide and the parents that refuse vaccinations are now feeling the backlash with Measles coming back. Not to mention unemployment is much lower than when he first stepped into office. But yeah... go ahead blame Obama.

  7. Noi657, I agree with what others have said with regards to .com being the daddy of website extensions. But having said that, it also can depend on who your target audience are so a .com may not necessarily be the best option for you. For example if I was targeting Australians only to sell a large physical product that required delivery locally (or even a local service), then it would be in my best interest to go with a .com.au as that is what Aussies are comfortable with. Or in the UK, you may go with .co.uk If this is not your thing, then .net or .org maybe the way to go.

These days websites are quite easy to build, and very cheap. I am a big fan of Wordpress and if I have any difficulty in figuring something out, I just go to a site like Fiverr.com and pay someone a few $ to work it out for me. Plenty of options out there. Good luck with it all.

Fiverr? seriously? You get what you pay for. You pay cheap you get crap results. Just like those website builders as well. They are horribly built and are terrible with SEO. If you dont care about SEO and how its coded... thegrid.io seems to be getting A LOT of buzz lately.

Yes .COM is king... but thats really only in the eyes of the people. Its more about brand trust with .COMs because its the original. Other domain extensions will index just as good in google as long as you're website is built with at least the basics of SEO in mind. If your after a specific name only and the .COM is taken then you could get creative with the new domain extensions. On some of the keywords that I focus one of my sites on I see a .INFO and .ASIA site mixed up with me around the top 5. Even typing in "Grid" into google you see that 'thegrid.io' is #1, so anyone who tries to tell you that google prefers .COM over any of those new domain extensions is dead wrong.

Like others mentioned, I also use godaddy, but I just get from them because they usually have coupon codes floating around the net which makes them super cheap to buy.

Someone mentioned buying different URLs that redirect... That is only good if you think someone might mistype your URL. That can only hurt you later on for google ranking results if thats the reason why you are doing it.

  8. Im guessing this must have been the work of local managers trying to remove competition and saw an opportunity being that they were making false claims. There is no way KFC corporate would ever approve of such actions. Let alone make threats to food stalls without legal action even if under the table... no way! But for sure I would check into the managers of the local KFCs to investigate because this smells of typical thai mafia extortion tactics.

But as a graphic designer it pisses me off to see thais ripping off well known brands to deceive people. I would love to see those guys get fined for copyright violations. Just because it might take more than a couple minutes to come up with an original idea doesnt mean you need to rip another companies branding and ideas.

Interested to know if you have a work permit to do graphic design in Thailand? Copyright laws are often nothing more than the theft of common language.

    Copyright laws are enforceable.

Rubbish ... You are very miss guided ...

I would love to see the Nike's & the Adidas & KFC's and many other corporate thief companies go broke ...

... These big companies pay meager and minimum wages , they locate there factories in India and Bangladesh where they can abuse the system and regulations on human rights such as 14 work hour work days, no sick time allowed, horrible living quarters and no medical cover and many other issues ....

They don't want to spend big money in the US or UK where they would have to abide by the laws and install proper toilets & fire safety systems etc ... .... and many other requirements

I love copyright violations , what difference is it to say ' Guess ' or ' Rolex ' if the small guy buys a copy Rolex for say 500 baht when he will never be able to afford the original ...

he will never in a million years pay the price what a real would be, as such your corporate is not actually loosing one cent as the lower class people will never buy from them anyway .......

but the street seller who employs one other thai and tries to earn enough to feed his family every day is at least working in some way.

Good on the chicken sellers !! corporate scum mad.gif

    IMO.

Bwahahaha... misguided? I think not, more like you are. You're pretty much saying that stealing is ok.

Funny how you say corporate scum though.... they make the products you want. Dont be so bitter old man... without them we would be living like the Amish.

Companies pay so much money on concepts, testing, research, development, branding, etc.... are you saying its fair for another person to swoop in and steal all that hard work and money spent just to deceive the public into trying to think that its the real deal? Because thats pretty much what you're saying is ok to do.

  11. I love how they have to add the extra 0 to make the statistic sound worse. really its only 6/100 so 6% of teens. Of course thats not good but I have heard of worse like the teens in england. Proper sex education would fix that number. You cant stop them from having sex but if you can teach them to be protected to avoid disease and pregnancy im sure that number will go down a couple %.
