The coup leadership just continues its fantasy of how the USA truly views Thailand's Junta-led government. From the prospective of the USA, the current Thai government is illegitimate. The nation's parliament, prime minister, cabinet - all taken by force and subverted by military occupation. One can debate whether the coup was justified or not, but it is a fact that the coup and its self-created government were unconstitutional and in violation of the Thai rule of law. It would be a fantasy to think for a moment that the US would meet with such a body to explain itself on matters of democracy.
But how about Gen. Prayuth offer to come to the USA to explain the Junta's actions and speak direectly to the American people to help them understand. Have the General leave his military cocoon wrap of control and face real freedom of speech. What better place to present his case for martial law and absolute power over the Thai people than in one of the most democratic lands in the world. Afterall, isn't Prayuth trying to create a democratic society that fosters and protects human rights and liberties? Surely, he should welcome direct contact with the American people to deliver his message of hope and change for the Thai people.

It was okay for Gen. Prayuth to keep repeating for months that the USA understood the reason for the coup and the Junta's continued control of the nation. Now when the USA actually announces its position that does contradicts the Junta storyline, the USA becomes bias and disruptive.
Has Prayuth begun to believe in his own propoganda as the truth, regardless of the certainty that it is not the truth? If so his behavior reflects at best a bipolar psychosis and at worse something more irreversible. Very dangerous with someone who controls both the armed forces and the government.

You can save your filing for reference when you file next year.
Adobe version used in form can be downloaded from the government web site.
You can have a 3rd party file for you if you find the form is too challenging.

This should not be considered as a threat, It is a statement. The thorn is slowly being removed from our country, any sign of infection should be treated immediately, once its out the wound will heal quickly.
Consider this - "Oppose me, you will suffer."
In the literal sense that is not a "threat." That is a "statement." Whether it is a fact or a lie depends on the context. Context comes from circumstance - cultural and historical usage. When the speaker is a military coup leader, self-appointed Head of Government, and in control of the Thai legal system, such a statement becomes a threat.

"He wanted justice for the country and the Thai people, and also for himself as the leader of the government."
When Thai people break the rule of law, they are prosecuted and punished. When the military coup leaders break the rule of law, they get amnesty. How is that justice? Under the Junta's Articles 17 and 44 the Junta is above the rule of law and the Junta is JUSTICE unto itself.
It should be the Thai people are embarrassed.

Seriously ? This is what passes for news these days ? The casket of a dead guy gets dug up after being in the ground for 18 years. Sits in storage for some crazy reason for another 29 years, then gets auctioned off for 87k ? Who T.F. pays 87k for a 47 year old rotting casket that had a decomposing corpse in it for 18 years ?
Funny too how it seems the brother apparently didn't give a crap about the casket for all that time either, until it became worth something. Perhaps now that the courts have ruled that it belongs to him, the funeral company can charge him for the 29 year of storage and handling.
Lets see, $5/month for storage, handling, fumigation and odour control, with 0.5% (Cumulative) interest on the outstanding balance, over 29 years equals about, oh, $620,000.
Let's see how badly the brother wants the casket after getting that bill.
According to the story the family didn't know the funeral home had stored the casket and instead destroyed it. But your imaginative scenario is very artful.

This strengthening of military ties comes as a welcomed change after the Thai military has been actively conducting operations in South Thailand for decades. WOW.

I think Stalin if he were alive would congradulate you. He had to eliminate 10 million "threats."

Other than the registration of illegal immigrants, they presented not one single fact to back up their spurious claim, such as the number of villains arrested, charged and sentenced.
Pure spin with no substance. Yet again.BANGKOK: -- More than a dozen Thai government officials -- including senior policemen and a navy officer -- are being prosecuted for human trafficking, junta officials said Friday, as they vowed "zero tolerance" of the trade. 2015-01-30

Here is the actual success, coming on the heals of Prayuth's criticism of the USA interferring with Thai internal poitics:
BANGKOK: -- More than a dozen Thai government officials -- including senior policemen and a navy officer -- are being prosecuted for human trafficking, junta officials said Friday, as they vowed "zero tolerance" of the trade. 2015-01-30
Suddenly exports to the USA seem much more important.

"He asked for time for his government to resolve all problems of the country and all to respect the justice system."
Was that the justice system he trashed by abolishing the 2007 Constitution and created his own "rule of law" by Articles 17 and 44 of his Provisional Charter? Or was that the justice system he established by martial law where one has no rights to intimidation, arrest, incarcination, and interrogation?

isn't there some navy dude that try to take a journalist to court because he dare to speak about human trafficking?
is that the same ?
Before the military coup the Royal Thia Navy brought a defamation lawsuit against two Thai reporters for Reuters as well as threatening Reuters itself with a lawsuit. Since the coup there has been no further litigation.

"We don't want to be a burden to our allies. If we can't solve our problems, we may end up having to need other countries to take care of us,"
USA took care of South Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, and Japan. They didn't fare so badly. The USA together with free Europe took care of West Germany, and eventually eastern Europe, They didn't fare so badly. I'd like to see Prayuth disarm the military and agree to a UN peacekeeping force in Thailand, but I fear his ego would fare badly.

US officials meeting with red shirt " leaders"..... Wow, here comes
another fire storm of from indignant government officials.... I
have said it before and I will say it again, Prayut will be in power
for at least 3 to 5 years. As time rolls by , you will hear less
and less talk about upcoming elections. A headline like this is
an example.
If he stays into power for 3 to 5 years then after that the reds are done for. All their finances gone, they need to be in power to drain the states coffers and get money in their own. So this strategy of Prayut might work as then the reds have no longer the money or the influence (they are getting kicked out of places of influence). That would mean they would a spent force.
And the Junta will be a spending force in the meantime. By the time it leaves there won't be a treasury, just a wastepaper basket.

Somehow missed is the common man's need for participatory governance, freedom of expression, and freedom of association. Instead the author dribbles out snatches of communist-like dogma that relates mankind to an economic animal who is distinguished from the animal kingdom only by his methods of organized production. If you cater to the needs of the body, you satisfy man's life. "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs." - Louis Blanc, populized by Karl Marx.

“The Thai National Shippers Council (TNSC) has lowered its projection of the country’s export growth in 2015 to only 1.5 per cent from the 2.5 per cent forecast earlier.”
Talk about a guessing game.
Two weeks ago, the Department of International Trade Promotion Director-General said “that the Ministry of Commerce will work in unison with the private sector to push the nation’s export figures this year to grow by a target of 4 percent, while many institutions have predicted the export figures to grow by 2.5 percent this year.”
Also about two weeks ago, deputy prime minister in charge of the economy Pridiyathorn Devakula “believes the export sector will expand by around 2 per cent this year.”
Yesterday,” the Fiscal Policy Office has made adjustments to the country’s economic growth projections for 2015 down to just 3.9% while forecasting export growth at only 1.4%.”
Meanwhile, the Junta is alienating Thailand from two important importers, the EU and USA. How long can Thailand afford the Junta to control its future?

"Thai economy has since floundered because of military coups, floods and persistent political uncertainty"
All things of the past.
The future is bright.
Stability is back and the Government is taking care of that.
Thailand will flourish again in the coming years.
The longer they govern the better for Thailand and it's people.
God or Buddha forbid we go back to the previous political situation and turmoil.
Too bad Buddha can't forbid future military coups. But then Buddhists can't vote.

This demand by Prayuth for a tripartite meeting is just a knee-jerk reaction in his deparate efforts to forestall major protests by the rubber farmers. The Junta spares no efforts to crackdown on politician and student protests but when it comes to supporters of the Junta ..... well not so tough.
Just yesterday rubber growers in Surat Thani province delivered a proposal to the NCPO for their solutions for falling prices, including setting up a "special [government] unit in each district to buy all categories of rubber twice a month" (like the rice pledge program?). BUT the rubber farmer representative said,
"If the government remained oblivious to their demand, the affected rubber growers might converge on the Government House in Bangkok." !!!
In December 2014 the Government in response to rubber farmer threats of protests in January 2015 quickly delivered "1,000 baht per person compensation payments" for a total of Bt276 million. The government also tried to appease their demand that the Government buy their [rubber sheet] products at 80 baht/kg when market price was below 50 baht/kg by buying their product at 60 baht/kg. The Government even sold 400,000 tons to China for 60 baht/kg to be delivered in eighteen months. Unfortunately, the rubber farmer's cost of production is 64.5 baht/kg. and they want a minimum of 80 baht/kg.
It looks like the rubber farmers have forced Prayuth to a little attitude adjustment of their own.

"holding a referendum and listening to people's voices would determine the success of the new charter and reform"
But whatever you allow, you cannot let the People to VOTE on the new charter. That might damage
Junta’s feelingsnational security. -
A government -wide ban is placed based on "an alleged lese majeste offence committed early this month." Simplistic and mindless overreaction. Of course no one is allowed to mention any details of the allged incident as that too would be a lese majeste offense, so no one can even learn from the alleged mistake.
As a security measue the government does need to have all its employee electronic access tied into its own VPN that does not allow open internet access, except by expressed permission, ie., senior officers. If employees want to access social media accounts, they need to use their personal electronic devices.

American journalism would never conform to Prayuth's 12 values. But then Prayuth would never survive in America as a politician or soldier.

Bottom line is that no one really likes Romney. I rarely hear anyone say anything good about the guy.
And you look at things "objectively"? What a joke. The latest poll had Hillary Clinton and Mitt Romney dead even. Somebody must like him. alt=rolleyes.gif>
That's from a FOX News poll - so you're right, somebody does like Romney.

There is a potential major factor facing any Republican presidential candidate in 2016 - the performance of the Republican-controlled Congress.
If the Republicans waste their majority with nonsensible and controversal (aka unconstitutional) legislation to feed the ultraconservative radical Republican agenda rather than meeting the needs of the American people, it will be difficult for a Republican presidential candidate to place failure on the Democrats. It will be, "Elect me and get more of the same." With President Obama's approval rating over 50% compared to Congress at 15%, a Republican candidate would have to disassociate himself from his own party. Good luck with that strategy.
For the American electorate, it would be easier to vote Democrat. Any Democratic candidate who presents a moderate mainstream agenda will win the POTUS election.

Shaw might argue that the Thai judicial system has been corrupted by the military coup that now has absolute power over the judicial branch. He might argue that Thailan's Justice System is not capable of unbiased fact finding, especially for an American. He can point to Gen. Prayuth's denegrating remarks towards the US in recent visit by a State Department Assistant Secretary that as an American, he won't get a fair trial. The Junta will take revenge on Shaw. Remember that Thailand does not have a jury system; judges make the sole determination of innocence or guilt. And the Thai judges fall under the Junta's judicial approval. I can see the judge refusing extradiction.
