Sticks, very nice photo! Looks like you and DAL visited the same place some misty morning ago.
I know you're heading back to the States. Just wanted to same thanks for all the good advice and help with cleaning up my images. . . a work in progress I might add.
happy trails!
Yes, DAL was kind enough to show me around his neck of the woods for a few days so we share some of the same location shots from Petchabun.
Thanks for your kind words.

I took some sunset pictures, yesterday from a Wat in Mancha Khiri district, Khon Kaen.
Can't decide which one I like more so I put on 2 of them.
I vote for the one with the sunstar.

Great shot TP1
John, Thank you very much.
This shot was one of the 350 photos taken last night, trying to get a good sunset over Chonabot lake.
Unfortunately there was a light wind and the waters were rippled, so I didn't get the reflection effect.
At least I was compensated with the sun rays shining through the clouds.
But I keep trying......one day I will get it.
This is one with the lake, taken from the same spot.
Very nice shot TP1! Will we get to see the other 348 shots?
When the water is rippled like that you need to get a long exposure to smooth out the ripples and get the best reflections. That's gonna be pretty hard to do when you're shooting into the sun. You could look at getting a 10 stop neutral density filter which will increase your exposure time by a lot and allow you to smooth the water out. Just a warning though, if you take 350 shots with a 10x filter, you may have to pack some food . . . and maybe a sleeping bag!

Looking at this picture I can hear Beethoven's pastoral symphony No. 6
In reality it was only the cows passing gas in harmony!

@TP1: If you keep making shots like that you won't be needing photoshop at all.
@Alex: To counter the unnatural effect which may occur while blending I prefer to make a single exposure increasing the exposure compensation to reveal the beautiful rice up to the point where I just didn't overexpose the sky light. Because like in your scene there's no direct sunlight you can go as far as +5 without overexposing the sky while maintaining an acceptable exposure to the rice and I maintained the natural exposure balance because I made only a single exposure.
I hope this makes sense.... Anyway: Single exposure yesterday morning:
DAL, a beautiful natural looking image. Well done lad.

Same with bamboo on Samui , Fiddles! very slow~ ! A bit like me these days!
By the way Assurancetourix arrived safely on Samui this morning, looking forwards to giving him and his family a grand tour, over the next few days ..
SJ, sorry to break it to you but you can't grow bamboo by sticking bamboo sticks in the ground.
Hope you and Assurancetourix (have to be careful not to abbreviate that name!) have a great time on Samui and take many memorable photos!

It took me 45 mins to download and resize them pics and re-upload again ^^^^ of the harvesters .... seeing Farm photos has just about died again, I thought I would add here,... Shaggy
Perhaps this shot is more "rural" ....? ..... Rice fields of northern Songkhla! Hard to believe that was 5 years ago now! I cut out the date!
Hey SJ, Five years! Rice sure grows slow in Songkhla!

I'm curious @fiddlesticks, how were you allowed to stay after dark?
I entered after hours and stayed there along with about a dozen other visitors. The previous time I was there I was able to enter before hours but this time the guard kept me out until opening. It all depends on whether the guard is awake or sleeping, whether he cares or not. It's just a crap shoot to tell you the truth.
