  1. Good news.

One is a senior civil servant (C8 level) in the Industry Ministry, while the other two are serving members of the Royal Thai Air Force.

Corruption, collusion and murder from the very people whose job it is is to serve the country.

Who are their masters, and is anyone surprised?

'm sure their silence is bought and paid for. Hard to believe they suddenly thought they should go out and kiil this nuisance

  2. I believe those high numbers of casualties during a holiday season are unique in the world.

Indeed they are! Most countries with good highway infrastructure, strong driving laws enforcement, and skilled, capable ( I say that with some reluctance) drivers see holiday death tolls at a fraction of Thailand's during this and other holiday seasons. Most in this forum know why they're so high.

NOW...., ban all motor bike traffic (without exception!) during this time and the number would be cut by 65%+. Unfortunate that this is the single most common form of transportation here.

    Why stop there?

    Ban alcohol as well.

Steady on, i have never been anything more than a drunk pedestrian

  3. Typical of Thai politics, do everything, promise everything, say anything to get into power, but when everything is over, no help and no recognition for those who helped, sweated, and risked their lives for the party.

At least some red shirts made it into the cabinet and they were the ones who told the mob to " leave Bangkok in flames " but I'll bet they didn't set fire to anything

  4. Soooo.....does this mean she might have to flee the country and then continue to govern via a proxy?

Got the strongest feeling of deja vu.

Has anyone seen any tanks yet?

Plenty of Shinawatra's to fill in here. Move over the Kim's in Nth. Korea there's a new dynasty on the block but they are not a threat to the region only to their own people

  5. "Although we couldn't arrest any gamblers this time, we believe we have

sent our message across that we are seriously cracking down on

gambling," said Maj-General Suthee Nenkantee, commander of Metropolitan

    Police Division 2.cheesy.gif

"For now, we can only prevent any transaction related to the building.

It can't be sold or transferred. However, the building owner can still

use the property until the court orders its expropriation," he said.blink.png

Another dog and pony show. I bet it is re re-opened by the weekend.

I wonder is there was a warning " we are coming " phone call ?

  6. Well, it works for Thai murderers to get to Cambodia, so why is anyone surprised about a foreigner doing a runner.

Of course, the next question, is why bail murderers;?

Last week there was an article praising Immigration for stopping wanted fugitives on arrival but departure is an entirely different matter

  7. Oh, so now we are going from

    1. Close down DM to 2. Open DM to budget airlines and now 3. back to using it for international Airlines.

Has somebody been doing some serious research? This plan will please some travelers and annoy others.

However, personally, although not a traveler, I am glad to see Thailand utilizing both airports effectively.

    Good move.thumbsup.gif

I seem to remember that shortly after the new airport opened it was considered it would be a full capacity in no time flat yet had been billed as " the be all and end all " in the usual Thai fashion. Better DM is used for planes instead of storing all that rice as was suggested

  8. "The DSI seems to deal with this case in a way that will bring negative impacts to the opposition party," he said, adding that he would rather wait for results of the investigation by the NACC, which has the authority in probing this case.

This and other ridicules charges against the opposition prove that the DSI is the lap dog of a convicted criminal.

None of us are, I hope, so naive as to believe anything or anyone in Thailand is truly independent and free from political influence but the DSI is taking it to new heights. Perhaps they should change their initials to PTP DSI

  9. PM Yingluck concerned over smoke haze problem in North was too busy planning her next diplomatic trips and shopping tours

This problem existed for probably several months and weeks, and then you suddenly dare to say: "Oh, I'm worried just now".....

The IN Channel news said there are up to another 30 countries to be visited this year. Head in the sand over problems at home or is it head in the clouds at taxpayers expense ?

  10. He said the Premier also instructed the Science Ministry to keep a close eye on the situation while urging all concerned offices to speedily put the problem to an end.

    Problem solved....so easy.

Expect to see the same statement in the news about this time next year.

Great name for a government spokesman, Tossaporn. Wonder what his nickname is ?
