To me, at the start of the first version of the video, the first car (the so-called ‘tortoise’), is in the middle of his lane, and indeed seems to be going at a similar speed to the car passing on the left. The replay is of course in ‘slo mo’.
But then he seems to be slowing down as he moves over to his left. I can’t see his indicator going, but maybe he is about to take a turning to his left, which is out of sight to the camera, or maybe he is about to stop at a road side hot food stall.
The idiot in the pick up behind is going way too fast for those particular road conditions, and maybe, just maybe, he slammed on his brakes because he suddenly realised he was about to miss the turning on his right. As he swerves, he seems to be speeding up, not to avoid the Yaris, but to enter the turning on his right!
At the bottom of the picture, there’s a black and white pole, with what looks like a black lamp at the top. Is it one of those flashing amber lights, perhaps warning of a ‘blind’ turning coming up. If so, maybe that is what the first car is about to turn into, which is why he is slowing.

Too old to be riding here in Thailand, too many things to watch out for, it's very different on the roads here, your reflexes and decision making need to be spot on.
Surprisingly I see a lot of elderly guys riding like the Thai guys, in and out of traffic, changing lanes erratically, very dangerous behaviour.
Lazy comment.
I see lots of drivers every day in cars and on motorcycles, Thai and farang, male and female, of all ages, including yours, whatever that may be, doing stupid things, including driving erratically, using mobiles, not looking in their mirrors and other basic errors. Don’t pick on one group and try to demonise them.

When did this trend to call MPs lawmakers begin ?
I don't recall it being used as much in the past .

Same, same with the expression “parliamentary estate”. Throws up an image of a rundown council estate with rubbish strewn everywhere and abandoned burnt out cars whilst menace and intimidation stalk the streets.

Ever heard the Thai proverb about teaching a crocodile to swim ? If not google it.
If that’s what you “assumed he meant”, then why did you post such a snotty comment on a public forum? If you wanted to check what he meant, you could simply have asked him.
Ever heard the English expression ‘giving someone the benefit of the doubt’? If not, google it.

He did not mean ‘poor’ in the sense of ‘no money’, but in the sense of ‘deserving sympathy’ (the Frenchman is 72 years old, after all).

I don't think it will happen.
There'll be another extension/delay.
I agree with you.
This is an article in today’s Guardian.
“What’s at stake is not winning some stupid blame game,” Tusk wrote in a tweet directed at the prime minister. “At stake is the future of Europe and the UK as well as the security and interests of our people. You don’t want a deal, you don’t want an extension, you don’t want to revoke. Quo vadis? [Where are you going?]”
“He’s lied his way through life, he’s lied his way through politics, he’s a huckster with a degree of charm to which I am immune. As well as being mendacious he’s incompetent.”
Conservative former minister Chris Patten in May interview with Bloomberg
‘I think he honestly believes it is churlish of us not to regard him as an exception, one who should be free of the network of obligation which binds everyone else.”
Johnson’s Eton housemaster, Martin Hammond, in 1982 school report
The European politicians are not stupid. They have the full measure of Johnson. Brexit, apparently, is headline news everyday in Germany. It’s in everyone’s interest to get a deal. That’s why it’s likely there will be an extension until next June at the very least.
You can be sure they read British newspapers every day so they would have read Andrew Rawnsley’s article on Johnson in the Observer:
Although what will happen to Sterling, while Johnson and Dominic Cummings play their stupid games is anyone’s guess!

Thanks for your reply Martyp.
I need to go back each year to see friends and to see my financial advisor. I also still own a small flat there. Nice to make use of it for a few weeks. And England in the summer is still great, and it stays light and warm until well after 9 pm. I love both countries.

I am in the second year of an O-A visa (multi entry long stay) issued by RTE in London.
The first year ran from 29th August 2018 until 28th August 2019.
I returned to the U.K. 6th August 2019 and returned to Thailand on 21st August 2019. The IO at Bangkok Airport gave me another 12 months until 20th August 2020.
I would still have to report every 90 days at my local Immigration Office in Hua Hin.
As I understand it, during the second year, it is no longer multi entry. If I wanted to return to the U.K. during these 12 months I would have to go to Immigration and fill in a form for permission to leave and return and pay their fee.
My plan was, having paid for the visa last year, to get the full two years out of it. At the end of the second year I would return to the U.K. Then at the end of my stay there, I would apply for a tourist visa from RTE in London.
On arriving in Thailand, and after the appropriate elapse of time, I would apply for an extension of stay by reason of retirement. I already have 800,000 untouched in my account for that purpose.
However under this new directive, am I now required, over the next 12 months, to show insurance cover every time I attend for my 90 day reporting?

Yes but your complaint was about chocolatey things being expensive like mars bars and twix. Remember? I know it was 40 pages ago ???? but you said:

That’s why I recommended Penguin biscuits and you put some pucks in your suitcase, your Thai friends will thank you for them.
“When you p-p-p pick up a Penguin,
There’s so much more to enjoy,
it’s bigger, so chocolately, with chocolate filling too.
When you’re feeling p-p-peckish,
What’s bigger and best for you?
p-p-p-p pick up a Penguin.”
No brainier, really Max ????????
Anyway, I like custard creams too. As you have splashed out on them instead, you should also get a whole load of Bourbon biscuits and mash ‘em up all together as in this YouTube vid:
It could turn out to be the highlight of your return to the UK.

Best value for money is a packet of Penguin biscuits for £1.00 at Tesco’s. Occasionally, for a short time, they are priced @£1.47, but most times at Tesco’s, it’s £1.00 per pack.
https://www.hatads.org.uk/catalogue/record/f647d45c-d76a-4e82-97d1-3ff58e4039d0
In the advert, it’s only a pack of 6, but these days you get 8 in a pack. Unbelievable!
What’s more, they’re the still same size after nearly 50 years as in that 1976 advert. And recipe is the same too! Can you believe that?! ... unlike Mars and Yorkie bars, which have really shrunk in size over the same period. They’re girlie, nibble bars now; nothing man size about them when you want ‘some scoff’.
I buy up loads of Penguin packs, as they fit flat in my suitcase. When I return to Thailand, I hand them out to places I frequent a lot e.g. small Thai restaurants and coffee shops. Thais absolutely love them. Definitely, ‘Aroi maak maak’ with them.

All the other guy had to say was that Musks idea was not suitable, instead it was shove it up yer ass to which Musk took offence unsurprisingly and responded, rightly or wrongly I don't care although anyone with any sense would most likely have either not responded or said he was entitled to his opinion etc.
Hi Chazar
Thanks for taking the trouble to read and comment on my post. ????
Plenty of examples of people who are “plain nuts” and who would “just start a witch-hunt” if they could.
Here are four cases from U.K.:
https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2013/nov/28/vigilante-lee-james-life-murdering-bijan-ebrahimi
https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2000/aug/30/childprotection.society
Here is an example from US, where a suspect (I.e. he was being investigated, but had not yet been charged or found guilty in a court of law) was tortured, murdered, and his body set on fire by vigilantes:
And another US case:
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/vigilante-justice-ends-with-murder-of-alleged-sex-offender-say-cops/
Anyway, by commenting, you have also given me an opportunity to provide a link to comments by Unsworth’s Thai girlfriend about Musk’s allegations:

In BritEng, being accused of pedophilia is a life threatening insult; far worse than being called a racist. Vigilantes will burn your house down, and you have to be put in a separate part of a prison, away from the other convicts for your own safety.
Musk paid $50,000 to a private detective, who claimed that Unsworth was a whoremonger in Pattaya and had known his 40 year old wife, in the Biblical sense, since she was 12.
Musk meant more than ‘creepy’ when he used the word ‘pedo’. He has had plenty of time to clarify his use of the word but his subsequent ‘off the record’ comments to Buzzfeed show what he really thought of Unsworth.
