All they have to do is give them their own immigration lane at the airport, and free buffet vouchers.

I have 3 x 100 boxes of Twinnings Earl Grey tea bags in my cupboard at home in Mae Rim, I had to give up drinking tea because of stomach acid, sad really? Any offers?
You could try this... Add a heaped teaspoon of baking soda to a small bottle of water, and leave it in the fridge. Take a mouthful any time you get acid indigestion.

Checked BigC today, they have six different brands of English tea.
Only one I recognized was twinning.
I was in there a few days ago, and they had Typhoo tea bags in, but not cheap @ 40 for 149baht.

Hi folks!
Has anybody of you applied for the medical marijuana card ? And if you do, how long did it take for the application to go through? I have found some good info the website, but still need some real life recommendations. I'm considering getting one and am curious how long this process is gonna take.
This is Thailand, not the US. Medical marijuana has not been legalized here yet. There has been no update on legalization as far as we know.

Next time you go near someone with flu, or get that slight tickle on the back of your throat - try taking zinc tablets. Too late for you now unfortunately, but good advise for the future.

I think Tops supermarket in Central (Chewang) stock PG tips? The Expat shop on the ring road may also stock them on occasion (next to Tesco lotus Chewang).

I had a nightmare this year trying to buy a 3D printer off Aliexpress, mainly because I don't live anywhere near Bangkok, and because of slow communication from the logistics company. In the end I lost over $300, and wound up buying a another printer from a supplier in Bangkok.
At least you live in Bangkok, and have a Thai partner, otherwise you would have to hire an agent to do the process, or spend time travelling to Bangkok and do some running around + pay import duty and any storage charges on top.
BTW The cheapest quote I got for an import agent was 7,000 Baht (friend of a friend). Storage + import duty was extra.

Now what will they do? Will they jail drunk driver for 30 years or fine 500 bath and go home ???
8 minutes ago, Cadbury said:As a relatively new member you can be forgiven for the absolutely repetitive and boring comment of "500 baht fine". Please try harder for something more original.
Actually, 500 baths is well over 100,000 baht from home pro.

I would also recommend glucosamine, but make sure it also contains chondroitin, which speeds up the process.

I have to agree with sfokevin on the inverter technology. It will save you a lot of money in the long run. I have an LG one, and my electric bills came down drastically compared to the old one I had.

It may be pathetic by western standards but both the wife (car) and daughter (bike) were failed on their first practical test so it certainly made them think.
Is my wife a "good" driver, by Thai standards, yes, as she is a safe driver. By my standards, it is best not to answer.
54 minutes ago, cornishcarlos said:Failed !! Hahaha... You're wife must have got in the back seat of the car and your daughter sat on the bike backwards ? How can you fail the Thai driving "test"....
Obviously there is no national standard, and that is one of the major problems.
I took my ex wife for her car test and she passed. She said that the examiner told her to practice her steering, but still passed her anyway. On the way home I let her drive on the B road near our village. She almost smashed the car into the first corner, as she could not turn the wheel properly (arms crossing) and we ended up on the wrong side of the road inches away from the hedge. I then found out that she had never driven in 2nd gear. BTW.She had been on an intensive Thai driving course prior to this.
After that, I taught her to drive myself.

Is this Fake news?
I don't see Saudi Arabia (Alcohol 100% illegal) on top of the list of countries with the highest life expectancy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_life_expectancy

Why don't they just have a proper bike test in the first place?
My bike test (Thai) consisted of answering nonsensical multiple choice questions, and then having someone looking out of a window, watching me drive round a tiny car park..... while they were also busy doing another job.

Wow 11 months is great going! Seriously...Well done!
I assume by now you have stopped dreaming about smoking? That bit lasted 5 months with me (1999-2000). I would wake up panicking, because I would be smoking in a dream, and then realise I had given up. Not touched tobacco since.

What part of the island are you going to be staying at? There are so many places to rent from, it would help to narrow a place down for you.
One step closer to legalisation
