Happy Birthday Long live the King.

As NomadJoe says , pressure is applied all over the body , your body is "squishy/flexible" and yes your body does reduce in volume , but not as much as the balloon !.The pressure does press on the lungs , but your fresh breath and the air distributed throughout your organs/cells/vessels etc stop you being squashed too much , but only up to so much pressure. Your rib cage will "bend closed" slightly as it is a flexible open cage . If you dive to 40 Meters you are at 5 Bars pressure (73.5 PSI). Your amazing body can handle this , and more , but too much and you "implode" - Squashed into pieces !.Your vocal chords are also effected by the pressure and talking in an air space under water , such as a ship wreck ,will result in you sounding high pitched like the cartoon "Pinky & Perky". Welcome to TV - some very useful info on here as there seems to be an expert on nearly every subject except women !!!!Then again would they be as wonderfull if we understood them. Or us/them.

Now-a-days Christmas has very little religious meaning. Just commercial greed and overspending. Fireworks night (and Halloween) are becoming more and more popular in England. Not forgetting New-Year of course.

Get in touch with Honda "BIG WING " and ask for a up-to-date 2014 brochure. They should have released them around Sept.

If your final piece of the puzzle is the silencer (muffler) , i would go for on off a bike as close to yours as possible in terms of power , engine torque , revs and character. Unless you cut a can open , it will be difficult to know the design , size and number of baffle plates inside. Are you trying to make a silencer of a different shape / design ?

Kawasaki " supermoto " version is called a D TRACKER X. Hope this helps.
-
If you will only use it in Bangkok then consider the "supermoto version , Kawasaki KLR 250. Honda also does a CRF 250M , but only one radiator (on the Honda), means that engine gets HOT both on and off road. Added the better build quality of the Kawasaki , on a design perfected over the years , and for a just a small amount more , with more equipment , it gets my vote !

Allan If the header diameters are correct , the bends and lengths will be dictated by the space available within the frame around the engine , and the old mounting points. A road legal (quiet) exhaust from a similar bike , 400 cc V4 Honda -VFR NC or an CB 400 having similar characteristics to your bike , should do. Then a rolling road session to fine tune the beast.

Just fell of my chair laughing !

You often buy a bike with your heart , not your head. The Ducati excites you. You wont go wrong with it , and the thrill and smile it will give you , is priceless. None of these bikes are perfect for Bangkok traffic - keep your run-about for this. RE Honda dropping their price £5,000 / ($8,000) shows just how much their (average quality )products are grossly over-priced !!. People have choice and information nowadays that wasnt available just a few years ago , and arent blindly buying Honda because thats what their dads did. Honda are loosing credibility and sales and re-sale values are dropping. Can you imagine having bought a CBR 1000 and now finding its value has just crashed by £5,000 - gutted !!. Too much risk buying a Honda. Ducati wont drop their price like this as the products are excellent quality , and correctly priced in the first place.

well done that man ! Hope he has much more work to come with these clever and catchy names. I will look out for them , which is what clever marketing is all about !

Sump capacity normally stamped on sump. Or just fill up and keep checking dipstick .Would have thought between 600 and 800 ML.Any car/bike shop will have fuel system / fuel injection cleaner such as Redex.

Sorry - forgot to add , sticking brakes - could be pads sticking in calipers , needs brake grease on pad edges where they come into contact with calipers , or caliper pistons may be sticking ( a simple job for mechanic).

Have had very poor and dangerous "service" from official Honda dealer in the past. Asked for tire pressures to be checked on Honda Click (friends) , guy didnt even bother using gauge. Checked latter and it was 65 PSI !!!Blow out could have killed me/us.If you cant watch them like a hawk all the way through the job (and know what your looking at)then take it to a trusted private mechanic , or learn to do it your-self.

So do i visit a Wat and a dentist first ? Never been with them before - If i survive , i will post my findings !

Just booked return flights (daytime) from Don Muang to Chiang Mai - April 14 to May 07 for 1,050 Baht ,all in, at Thai Lion Air. They have many dates left , but my CNX flight wasnt the promotion price so i paid 665 Baht , coming back was on promotion , so was only 385 Baht. Will be using this company 100% at these prices. MASSIVE thanks to Thai Visa member BRMC who posted about this today (FRI). Guess i owe him a drink!!!
-
BRMC , thank you for posting Lion Air details. Im over in April (going to HH (Hua Hin) first) and hadnt considered Lion Air as they fly out of DMK (DON MUANG ) - so now i need to get from HH to DMK to fly (MON APRIL 14 at 15:40) to CNX (CHIANG MAI) , then in May get from DMK to BKK (SUVARNABHUMI) to fly (WED MAY 07 at 23:25) to England (BHX)!. I will be able to wing it , but does anyone know if there is a direct bus from HH to DMK around lunch-time APRIL 14, AND if there is a direct bus from DMK to BKK airport in the evening of MAY 07 ?. Thanks to any-one who may be able to help , and all on TV.

Nice to see everyone keep their heads and came up with a solution to a distressing act of vandalism to a shrine. Hope the guy who did this gets help if he has a mental problem - or himself pays for the damage if he was drunk. Well done everyone. Now , if only some other people in the world could "just talk" and sort their differences.
-
Yes , well done Honda. Other companies should put on similar PR events to entice new customers over to their brand. Honda can afford to do this due to their sales numbers , but free beer and cakes gives everyone a good feeling - and happy people buy bikes !. Other companies should take note.
-
Thank you Richard-BKK , i stand corrected. I saw the red brake calipers and they reminded me of Keeway. Didnt know there were so many companies in China , all fighting for a small piece of a very big pie . I wonder if these will be sold in Thailand , and if they are fuel injetion .The quality of Chinese products are improving all the time and reports of Keeway products seem good. Who will be the first to buy one of these (if you can) and replace the stickers with "Ducati" to complete the transformation ?. The bike may not be as advanced as a Kawasaki Ninja 300 , but sure would give the Hoonda CBR a good run for the money .
-
I believe this bike may have links to the Keeway company(s). More power and A LOT more torque than the Honda CBR , along with twin front discs , USD forks , under-seat exhaust , and (typical copycat) Ducati styling , means if this is priced less than the Honda(and i suspect it will be)it will provide a very welcome alternative to the overpriced (and equally built) competition , but only to those willing to look at "other makes" of bikes. I welcome competition ! In previous years , the Chinese built bikes were not that "long term good" but they are now equal to many , including (locally built) Honda .

Those Ninja 300"s are going to be massive sellers. Far quicker and better built than the Honda CBR. Going to have a fantastic re-sale value. I am waiting for a bigger version of the KLX to come out.

Bought some from shop on night market road last year - lasted 10 months. Seemed very good quality and price. Will buy more from there next April. All seemed legit and good taste.
Air pressure confusion.

Your on the right track. When we are "at surface" or sea level , we are subjected to gravity , as you say , but also pressure. At this (sea) level we have 1 ATM pressure acting upon us (internally also , remember).1 ATM is 14-7 PSI.The atmosphere is thinner at altitude. When you breath , under-water , the air you breath in is now under pressure (compressed) so, although your right in that there is pressure "spread evenly "over and in your body , the compressed air you breath in , helps blow-up / expand and fill your lungs (like a turbo-charger). This means it only takes a little more effort , on your behalf , to breath in. Remember the air in the balloon , that air is under pressure under water but as no more air has been added to the balloon , its volume has , accordingly , been reduced. If you took a ONE breath (say 4 Liters)of air from your scuba gear at 40 Meters (not forgetting that this air is compressed) , and held it till you surfaced , your lungs would have expanded to 20 Liters.Hope this helps . BTW are you planning to take up scuba ?
