It really all depends on how long a stay in Thailand is planned. Over a long term relying on 3o day exemptions does not seem to be a solution and is likely to be limited unless flying out each month.
It would seem that a better solution is to be found by planning for the younger non working spouse to undertake an education course. If qualified to study at university a year long extension of stay could possibly be obtained.

So far as I can see, no one has defined "work" for me. Can someone do that, Please?
Do you really need an explanation of "work" ?

It's a dirty four letter word.
I know ! Which is why I gave it up

She is wrong or there was some kind of misunderstanding. The multiple entry visa which I presume was obtained outside Thailand, Remains valid and both passports need to be shown .
On the other hand are you SURE you have a visa ? Do you need to make 90 day reports?
-
Chiang Mai has a good office that will Assist you with applying for a Thai Visa. I think they charge 6,000 baht but all the info you require is on their website
There is no need , ever, to pay some dodgy "office " for a "visa" .
Visas and extensions of stay are easily obtained
Anyone wishing for help/advise just needs to ask here and the advice is free!

There is something called to much information. My friend left with a four year overstay and is now backin Thailand.
You need to allow a lot of time so best arrive to the airport early. His situation seemed very touch and go and he brought a lot of paperwork with him outlining his income and the reason he had stayed in Thailand. Immigration seemed to be very interested in how he was earning the income that allowed him to stay in Thailand. That appeared to be their main interest.
I would be very polite and have a sad story on why you have overstayed so long. One particular officer was hell bent on holding him whereas another showed more sympathy. He had a real sad story about an injury and having the obligation of supporting a child that was not his.
His opinion was that immigration had become sick of people wasting their time at the airport and as such were keen to detain people without a valid excuse.
Just pay the fine. No reason to show anything other than your passport.
Also known as "hole digging" once dug difficult to get out of !

Why would anyone overstay four years?
It can be number of reasons.
I overstayed myself a few years ago, I just couldn`t afford the visa run after a while. And no, I don`t drink or smoke, and I do not spend my time in bars. My income was cut in half, and I was trying to keep it together for my wife. Bad judgement got the better of me.
I made a promise to myself then, after sorting it out, that it would never happen again.
But several years later, today, I am in an even worse mess. A nasty breakup with my thai wife, has left me completely dry. My life savings is gone, and I am living day by day, barely surviving. Without any possibilities to borrow my way home (believe me, I have tried). And without family left, things are looking bad.
I am not out after any sympathy for myself, I guess I will be condemned by most of you for my second overstay here. The days have just run away from me, and today I have no chance getting back home, with a too long overstay.
Trusting her has taken everything away from me, and has left me pennyless.
My love for my wife was real, she was not a bar lady, but a hard working, real lady. That is why I trusted her.
My meaning is, we have all our reasons for doing what we do, and some og us don`t see it coming before we stand in the middle of something like this.
If the man in question here has a 4 years overstay, I am sure he has a reason for it. Or at least I will give him the benefit of doubt, and not judge him.
You need to seek help from your Embassy /----------------soon

There is no point in becoming aggressive.
I am not "snarky" yes the ref. is old and you will note that I also expressed the hope that that the situation is improving.
Thailand and Asia is years behind the West in terms of treating chronic/terminal pain . FACT.
I hold out no great hope for you receiving , here, the reassurance you seek.
This is the last response I intend to make on this thread.
-
Read the threads (this one and the other you have reopened) and you will be able to see the answers.
Even for those requiring pain relief as a result of terminal cancer have difficulty accessing adequate analgesia.

People on medication such as Omeprasole need to take additional Magnesium as the drug inhibits the absorption of this mineral. An awareness of how medicines interact with either the metabolism or absorption of different minerals and vitamins is essential, especially if medications are taken daily.
An informative paper here
http://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/Magnesium-HealthProfessional/
Note magnesium levels are difficult to determine and "supplimentation" is not always the solution to "low" magnesium levels.

"Here's a fact: in Thailand, government hospitals are allowed 400 grams of morphine per year and private hospitals are allowed 40 grams. Pain killers like codeine are discouraged or simply not prescribed"
Where, exactly, was this information obtained ?
http://www.medsch.wisc.edu/painpolicy/publicat/monograp/asia.htm
An "old" reference hopefully things have got better. It still does not address your issue.
You will have noted from that reference that access to narcotic medication is very restricted across the whole of Asisa

You resurrect this this yet again. Whilst we all have sympathy with your problem what you are seeking will be virtually impossible to obtain in Thailand.
You do not have to believe any advise give here you are welcome to come to Thailand and attempt to secure your "needs"
I wish you well

Thanks guys, that's exactly what I wanted to hear. Now we can relax and enjoy his going away night out in bkk!
Make sure the "going away night" does not attract police attention !

"My visa is non-imm family visa"
I am puzzled .
Such "visas" are not normally issued in Thailand.
-
One last question:
The visa company that I used had my visa originally issued in Chon Buri, not BKK, does that mean I must apply for the extension in Chon Buri?
Thanks in advance.
Exactly what "visa" was issued in Chon Buri .
Can you please check your passport and confirm you have a "visa" ?
Secondly if you live in BKK can you explain why this "visa" was issued in Chon Buri ?
Thanks

After applying for a multiple entry Non O visa 2 weeks ago, I received an email today saying -
"We must have the last three months statements of your UK current bank account. These must show a monthly income of a minimum of £1,400 or a lump sum of £16,000"
This is absurd! I work hard when I'm back in the U.K and earn considerably less than this a month after tax.
How many people have got 16 grand in there bank burner these days??
I called the consulate the same day and was informed I could have a single entry for 3 months or take the multi tourist entry for 180 days obviously having to leave the country every 60 days.
I regrettably had to take the latter even though I don't consider myself a fuc***g tourist as i've been married to my thai wife for over 4 years.
Don't know why I'm writing this to be honest but i just think its disgusting.
Its called "letting off steam" ...................understandable

Pure quackery (the alleged dangers). A high percentage of the population has had one or more root canals without any adverse effect. I've had at least 4 over the years , no problems at all.
Of course has to be done by a qualified professional.
Not doing a root canal when one is indicated risks loss of the tooth altogether.
Therein lies the problem.
No tooth is probably worse than a root canal and an implant is not much better considering most of them use metal.
I disagree on quackery and root canals.
There is quite a strong body of evidence on dangers of root canals and linkages with decreased immunity.
A lot of the alternative cancer clinics use wholistic dentists to get rid of root canals, check cavitations and get rid of mercury fillings as part of their therapies.
All of which are Quackery gone mad !
Believe what you wish and please do not respond .
Just go to the "Holistic Dentist" who will cure the problem with herbs !

Dermoid ?
Do you mean a Dermoid Cyst ?
If so someone has clearly provided the diagnosis.
Your question cannot be answered without knowledge of the cysts location .

I wonder weather these rivets in combination with sporting feathers might not actually create a perfect lightning rod?
We should keep in mind that applied sciences tell us that the occurrence of lighting strikes in Southeast Asia is considerably higher than elsewhere.
A lightening strike would improve the flow of "electrons"

well, scep i just got to guess. i reckon its a mechanical thing
the energy-all of it will shoot up the copper
and some of it will travel up the steel, not much
the two energies must be the same. cant see conflict
the 2 grommets would be connected with copper wire
i reserve the right to patent this. gonna make a killing
holeyman will get 15%
If you wear the correct color crystal to align your chakra, the resistance and capacitive effects between the two metals will be canceled out.
It is also very important to always remember to wear the "Tin Foil Hat"

Paying Tax In Thailand
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted · Edited by Sceptict11
Your problem most likely will not be associated with obtaining an initial visa or work permit.
The difficulties will arise in securing on going "extensions of stay" from immigration without a complete package of documentation which includes details of salary /tax paid in Thailand .
.Importing cash for living expenses would not be "salary" and tax would not be taken.
