so Thailands GDP relies on 70% exports and 8% tourism the depreciation is good for the country then, how bad of depreciation do you guys think the Baht will be after they totally stop the QE? might be a good time to buy a condo and wire your money over!

Im looking to buy a condo and factoring in exchange rate of at least 38 but it could go to 40 next year as interest rates are set to rise in the US which will only make the dollar stronger..

Does anyone have any idea what kind of rental rates to expect? I'm thinking you could average around 15kb per month in a good tourist location.

the problem with renting is what do you do with your things if you need to go back to your home country for an undetermined amount of time?

... Also the other downside is what if the owner decides to use the unit for themselves.

Im looking to buy a condo (for real) in Pattaya. Mainly because i need a place to keep my stuff and dont want to unexpectedly have to move on a moments notice.

The property market is overpriced based on supply and demand.

I was just at VT8 in Jomtien. its been completed since 2010 with still only 50% sold.

It seems prices havent dropped im guessing because people pay cash and there arent a lot of holding costs associated with leaving the property empty and on the market forever even if there are no takers.

I refuse to pay more than 50% the going rate so I will continue renting and making low ball offers until I find the seller who really needs to get out. Its too bad because I would like to buy a place but refuse to pay 2m bhat for a 27sqm studio that should be more like 1m bhat.

Btw, the condo rental market is just as oversupplied and similar negotiations can be made here as well.

I havent experienced any racism by thais. Maybe theres an anti frang sentiment but thats different. Plus Id say at least they are justified to dislike foreigners since they actually do own the place.

I went to wong amat the other day just looking for a hotel and I get this look of death from a fat European guy on a bike. Not sure if he was Russian or maybe British.

This is only the second time this has happened to me in Pattaya so it's not like this is a widespread problem. The Thais dont have a racist bone in their body but some of them are becoming trained by devils like this one.

I've been scammed in Thailand and other places but it usually involves doing something shady.

Though I suppose being in Pataya by itself could be considered shady.

This scam is worse because it preys on unsuspecting tourists. If the scammers tried to pull this on me or my family while

on vacation I swear to god I'd walk down to the beach and beat the <deleted> out of them.

not suprising I witnessed some dunk thai hoodlums kicking a working girl to the ground. I was about to say something but I just kept walking by or that could've been me.

I think Ca Wow is owned by 24hr fitness in America which is doing just fine. This seems to me this is one of those Thailand specific problems where things suddenly go bad for no apparent reason.

That entire Avanue complex can't seem to keep any tenant besides Starbucks and Mcdonalds who can probably withstand massive losses. If acompany as large as CaWow can't even make it that's a really bad sign.

The nightlife can't be beat as far as I know, but I'm open to other suggestions.
