  1. Arrogant, ignorant and innefectual bully who is now throwing the toys out of the pram. In his new position regardless of his personal qualifications he will prove just as hapless and pathetic as he has done over his whole career.

The rats are starting to abandon the sinking ship.

More like the Drunken Sod has finally lost it. Time for him to enroll in AA. Or, maybe it is too late for AA and time to be measured for a pine box.

  2. Facing intense speculation that he would be "demoted" in a Cabinet reshuffle, Chalerm painted a gloomy political system where the most powerful pulled all the strings, ministerial appointees are clueless about their assigned jobs but have to accept them anyway, and government politicians won't talk about massive corruption or major state policies in danger of breaking the laws until they are kicked out of key posts."

But most of TV posters know this already, although we cannot prove it. cheesy.gif

  3. "Some 20 years ago, primetime in Thailand started after the evening news at around 9pm and run through to 10.30pm. These days, it kicks off at 7pm, with every TV station trying to air three soap operas simultaneously to attract viewers. And therein lies the problem: such high demand for TV drama has led to a low supply of scriptwriters."

Not to mention that it doesn't really matter which one is watched. They are all about the same, just like in the US. The plot is predictable, the theme predictable, the same group of actors and actresses, etc. When the new ones start, I watch it for 5-10 minutes. That's all it takes for me to figure out the plot, sequence of events, etc. Talk about not "thinking outside the box", these writers take "plagiarize" to a whole new level. With 10 min of soap and 5 min of commercial, my attention span drops to 2-3 min.

  4. I don't know why the cops don't just go around machine gunning people in shopping malls, take a dump on a restaurant table and take all the gold from gold shops as there is nobody around to do anything about it.

Please don't give them any ideas. They cause enough trouble with their impotence as it is. neus.gifrolleyes.gif

  5. "The audience was granted after His Majesty the King had endorsed earlier on the day a royal command appointing 18 Cabinet members as proposed by Prime Minister Yingluck."

Now that HM the King has endorsed the new cabinet, Chalerm better watch his tongue. If he continues to complain, someone might consider his ranting as being disrespectful to HM the King. He could end up in jail like some other folks that have said bad things about HM the King. And wouldn't that be a shame. coffee1.gif

  6. The Police believe people will just accept this at face value to cover up their complicity or incompetence.

Shame on the Nation for yet again just parroting a Thai Police statement.

Where oh where is the integrity and journalism in this country?

Sent from my GT-I9100T using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Where, you ask? Well, I'm not sure, but you might want to look under the PTP's thumb. Or perhaps in somebody's pocket. Certainlyit is not out in the open, available for everyone to see and inspect. coffee1.gifthumbsup.gif

  7. It's good he is actually admitting what everyone has known for years but with around two years to go to the new ASEAN grouping does he expect they can clap their hands and all the years of neglect, corruption, poor standards etc. etc. will be put right ?

In all my involvement with Thailand I have never failed to be amazed at how everything gets left to the last minute with the very theatrical attitude of " it will be alright on the night ". It will take two years to sort out a teaching programme, test and refine it, sort out textbooks, get suitable teachers in place and so much more and that's presuming everyone is on board which is highly unlikely.

I would also have to say the more money that's put into teaching reform only means the more that will disappear.

Thailand is playing catch up and will be for a very long time.

I agree! It will take a generation or two to get it working right. I wish them luck but will not hold my breath.

  8. "Deputy Commerce Ministry permanent secretary Niwat Sutheemeechaikul said the pledged rice in government-run warehouses was safe to eat, as pesticides used to protect it from rice-eating bugs was covered by government safety standards."

Now, I gotta ask. Who would want to purchase and eat rice that has been sitting in a warehouse, getting old and soaking up pesticide?

  9. I love her so much, I sometimes beat her up, and I love her so much, that if she tells anyone I beat her up, I am going to sue her.

How come he has admitted whacking her and the police haven't done anything?

If you have to ask you obviously have not been in Thailand very long. However, based on the number of posts, obviously you have been here a very long time. I'm confused. Were you being sarcastic?

  10. It is common knowledge, even in Third World countries, that mosquitoes will only spawn in still clear, clean water.

49,000 infected and only now the Public Health Minister issues this statement?

It appears that not only justice and police move slowly in Thailand..

Where did you get these facts from? It is not "common knowledge" that the breed in clear water (mosquitos do not "spawn").

Also they have NOT "just released" this statement. Y ou just need to read the news more.

There has still not been any speaker warnings on SSCC Pattaya yet about them coming around to spray but I imagine this will happen any day now (I hope).

Has anyone in other areas experienced them driving around spraying yet?

This is truely something to be concerned about AGAIN.

I live in the Thung Song area of Nakhon Si Thammarat Provence. They sprayed here about two weeks ago without any notice.

  11. Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra vowed to take “ultimate” legal action against those found cheating in the rice pledging scheme.

She will stamp her feet while waving her arms around and screeching in a high pitch squeel, that will teach them.

The programme has greatly improved the country’s rice production

But not distribution due to the rice being above the going market rate, thereby making it all but unmarketable.

Thai economics at its best. I wonder how many MPs and cabinet members have actually taken a formal class in economics.

It makes me wonder how many MPs have even finished 12 grades of Thai school. LOL

  12. At last logic prevails and the brown mater hits the revolving blades. This whole scenario was a vote buying and corrupt exercise in cronyism and the albatross is hovering over their heads.

Stupidity at this level must surely lead many to the realisation of the gross incompotence and level of corruption exhibited by this current cast of moral and social syncophants and the true measure of the Shiniwatra clan.

Unfortunately this is Thailand, where logic does not prevail. In other countries the 2nd sentence would probably be true, but not here. Here, most people are blindly loyal and cannot think for themselves (thanks to the Thai school system).

  13. Fair enough kids do need to be introduced to and keep up with technology but surely teacher training should be a big part of this for while I see the kids we have around here are pretty good at finding their way round computers they do need help (so do I at times) when something goes wrong.

Left to themselves the kids main interest is games and I would suggest that a teacher with a class has no time to check what each kid is doing.

Even games teaches them how to use the things but they will need book learning as well therefore the tablets are not some wonderful machine that does away with everything else.

The political willingness to continue the program every 2 years is another factor.

The money could just be better spent on other aspects of education, after all it is recognized that the education system is one of the poorest in the region.

One of the poorest in the WORLD!
