Well I had no problems with Ottawa and got my E-Visa about 2 weeks ago and depart in 1.5 weeks). They had said to make sure you applied 2 months before and it could take up to 20 working days to get approved. It was over the 20 days, about 24 maybe, but got it. They also reminded me with the application that they would contact me directly if any problems arose and so with no word from them, meant it was likely going alright / no discrepancies The Ottawa office always got back to me through fakebook DM's a day or 2 after inquiring about anything. No real problems.

True, but if they make it anonymous, it will likely work. In Taiwan it works and has for more than 15 years. From dripping AC units to motorcycles spewing excessive exhaust or sidewalk driving, there are all kinds of narc lines. You phone it in and receive a code. You call back in 15 days, enter your code and it tells if they investigated and if they were fined. If so, they tell you your 40% (or higher not sure) share of the fine and you enter your bank account # to direct deposit it, finished!! While living there up until last year, I never heard of any problems and seems to work if run properly. But here in Thailand, well, good luck with that as TIT!!!

Canada will NEVER extradite someone if the death penalty is on the table......they will extradite, and have MANY times before to MANY countries, but not if they face death when turned over. Had the exact thing happen to me in Taiwan about 4 yrs ago and guess what the girl "asked for"?? (street-side/with cops there).....Yup, 200,000nt (235,000b). Only thing is I made sure I went right to the cop station to get myself on video as I had no idea how many of them were in on it. Got myself on tape pointing to the 2 cops in the office looking at the cameras (girl/her bf didn't enter of course). My friends in the Taiwan attaché office + Investigation Bureau looked into it the next day and the 2 cops questioning me + girl were caught. Plus the girls' bf was in police training school and had the 2 corrupt cops' phone numbers in his phone so they were all connected (including calls to each other that night earlier). The bf / cop-in-training was ousted righted away. Then a short time later one of the "bad" cops got caught doing something else. So, he ratted to the "good" cops about the other intoxicated foreigners they had previously targeted so to get a good plea bargain!! So, they had enough to get them all. Can't believe they got away with it for a while as I knew it was a scam right away and then my police friends noticing the one SCTV camera on my regular Saturday night course home / in front of my place, was turned away 2 days earlier. But "on" SCTV were the cops lying in wait up the street in their cruiser as the girl screamed and I then wondered how the cops got there so fast when they usually just drink tea at the station and don't patrol normally. These guys were amateurs but got away with it for a bit it seems. Not saying the guy here in Pattaya didn't do it (but think they had video of him) but I sure didn't, and I feel myself lucky I had authorities in higher places to look into it all. But seems the scam may have hit Thailand now!!......or others were just educated with this whole story!!!

Understand but as far as my dentist, doctors and all goes, I have those in the phone too but tell them to also always email me for confirmations or anything else as I may not be reachable by phone / out of the country. Just saying but you are right, pick and nobody you know just cut them off!!

Do what they have always done in Taiwan and that is only issue licenses to the disabled and they are the only ones who can operate little shops / kiosks / booths with regular machines. They are allowed to employ others if they are big/busy enough but they have to put in so many hours to retain their licenses. They are also checked on by authorities "a lot" so we know this would never work in Thailand if you know what I mean?
