Where to travel out of country for 2 days?
mushroomdave replied to Terek's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
Taiwan. Lived there 23 years and did my run there last year and going next month again to see friends. I stay almost 2 weeks though but Taipei is actually pretty cheap and a lot to see in a few days. My recomendation would be CKS Memorial Hall, Taipei 101, and for all the fun/nightlife/bars/shopping head to Ximenting...their "Times Square" LOL!!!! -
Tell me what scam you have been in ?

Had one of those 2 floor units you can have a shop in below (I didn't) and live above in Lam Plai Mat a few yrs ago. Saw some wires coming into mine from the next door "vacant" unit's rollup door and the landlord avoided my questions if I was somehow paying for power from there? She only responded "nobody there, nobody there". So I had her go with me and showed her I unplugged everything there was running and made her look at the meter which of course was still going. (I was going to say it must be the ghost next door but thought better LOL) She had a guy there to take all those wires out an hour later!! TIT !!! -
No rocket scientist here but maybe if Airbnb did a daily email/confirmation to the customer asking if things are "up to their standards still" would solve that a little? Just a quick daily reply/checkmark wouldn't upset me and might weed out / slow down the losers who try this type of thing. But again............

“As much as we don’t like the guy, this is unacceptable. Stop assaulting people just because you disagree with them politically.” It nothing about disagreeing politically........the piece of trash lied to the people who elected him and misused "their" funds.....the coffee-thrower was likely one of those voters so all the power to him!! Santos is a scumbag and he was lucky it was only a coffee!!!

In Thailand, it is forbidden for women to touch Buddhist monks, and it is generally considered disrespectful to do so. Men are allowed to be in contact with monks when needed to do so, but otherwise, keep a respectful distance. Men should also use their right hands when handing something to or taking something from a monk.

Pattaya parents outraged after teacher attacks 12 year old boy
mushroomdave replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
How can he still be working? No cameras / video at the school? During class there had to be many kids that witnessed the whole thing!! Just that should be enough to at least suspend him till he gets his day. I for sure would not be sending my kid to that school till that was done! "authorities have emphasised a zero-tolerance approach to physical punishment." Yah, right! Wow, amazing Thailand!! -
Thieves break into Udon Thani school, sparking security concerns
mushroomdave replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
As usual, something doesn't add up. The headteacher doesn't report it? If I worked there I wouldn't feel safe that's for sure and the teacher releasing this did good. But I don't think she needed to be so scared as I think the 3 in jail were looking for the aforementioned headteacher me thinks!!! -
Axe to grind: Thai father attacks son after suffering years of abuse
mushroomdave replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
Well dad was honest but too honest. I thought he would have said the son was attacking him and then he hit him in self-defense. I'm sure the parents' word and some neighbors/friends about past history would have been enough in court to get dad off. But now the dad is locked up, mom is home bedridden and the son will be out of the hospital soon. What could ever happen next? -
