Home??? Do you mean the country where they do not want any refugees? The country that informed Thailand in the first place?

The only part where the Thais should worry about their image is the disgusting state of the beach.

All he needs to do is to look at commercial vehicle manufacturers' websites, there's a huge number of commercial vans available.
Really? How many Panel vans did you see on the road today?

This morning I was driving 100km/h on the Bypass in Phuket where you are allowed to drive 50, I could not get to the slow lane because it was full of scooters, the cars behind me where all flashing with their lights because I was upholding the traffic, I guess I would now get a fine for driving "slowly" on the fast lane.

This sounds interesting, a driving licence on your phone that tracks your every movement.
If that avoids reporting to immigration every time I leave the island, I am all in favor.

Not more upset, just that this is naturally more of a conversation topic.
Whatever you think, like "colorful" and so on, painting on the road is obviously a criminal offence. So you could try telling it to the magistrate. However, building a speed trap in your road seems to be commonly accepted as you see (feel) them everywhere. I don't really mind as long as I am not in an ambulance with a spinal injury.

Would be nice if you can tell us on this forum which thai tourboats do apply to the european safety rules....So we can use those. (with western captains)
We are actually in the process of providing VOLUNTARY certification to the charter operator, my guess is that maybe 5 to 10% of the charter boats will comply with the requirements.

"...whether the tour-boat operator had complied with safety standards"
i am an inspector for the International Marine Certification Bureau and based in Phuket and I am really wondering what safety standards they are referring to, International Standards such as published by the Thai Industrial Standard Institute are certainly not applied in Thailand except for boats being exported to Europe.

It's such a shame that the 'Beer' being discussed is in fact all Lager and that there has been no mention of any proper beer: Bitter, Mild or any like variant. I am usually offered a "Beer" and express my yearning for a Beer and not for one of the pressure filtered, gassy, chemically laced Lagers. No matter how many times you point out that clearly there isn't any beer, it doesn't seem to make any difference. Quite a few countries have laws about what beer is and what it may contain so you'd think that would be common knowledge.
As I haven't found any 'Beer' yet in Thailand it could be that I've been looking in the wrong places and that it's a specialist item. Does anyone know where you can get proper beers and its trade names?
Snowy Weissen at least it is not pilsener/lager and for 55 baht for a big can at 7/11 you can drink it every day

Last time I went with my house lord (representative) and they told him that he could do it online. Note that the house lord is normally required to do your 24 hours address registration. He is having fun as I travel a lot for work I think the poor guy will have to hire a secretary just for me. Yes if they don't do it you get fined, so I make sure to keep a copy of the mail I send him.
