  1. Anyone who loves his dog more then his gf deserves to get shafted, did you ever ask yourself why 2 wives cheated on you?

I think you misread it, a dogs love for it's master is real devotion, advise to me when i came to Thailand was " Do not get into anything financial or emotional that you can't happily walk away from "

If you have the perfect partner in the perfect relationship you are one of the rare ones or have a bald spot on your head where her thumb rests

As for cheating wives and husbands why does anybody cheat so many do it for many reasons and I am determined that I will not be shafted, my brother had a great wife and kids but was a habitual cheated he blamed ego and the availability ready and willing women both married and single

  2. My condo, car and furniture all bought in my name, the only thing in the T/g/f name is the Tot bill and the True vision bill, and she has no access to my bank account, I would not trust any woman enough to hand over all my assets to. whether she be Thai or Western

And lets face facts after two failed marriages 13 years and 32 years both women decided to play up with other guys, the only love I believe in is the love for your kids and your dog it is unconditional whether you are rich or poor, you would give your life for your kids and your dog would give it's life for you

  3. I think it happens else where too I was on an Air India flight, when we landed we all stood the get our overhead bags, and this Indian guys started to barge through the aisle knocking my wife right across the seats I grabbed him and threw him back to where he came from and told him to F#$%ing wait, the air hostess came and said to me no no he does not understand , I said he does now.

On the BTS a couple of weeks ago it was packed with school kids all sitting and the adults standing they made no attempt to give up their seats I shamed one young lad into relinquishing his seat to an old lady standing next to me, and at the next stop a pregnant woman got on and the old lady gave her seat to her, so I gave one of the other young lads the look and a nod and he stood for her too.

So sometimes good manners can be taught to strangers if you have the nerve to stand up to them.

As the saying goes " evil flourishes when good men do nothing"

  4. My situation now is I did get married, but returned to Brisbane because my meager earnings with a language school didn't support us and so I ran out of money. --AussieSteve

    .

That's the reason your living back in Oz isn't it Steve--you really don't have to add the bits on about how You "discovered that underneath the surface of the tourist environment there was unrest and danger" The fact is you would still be here--IF you had the money to be here.

    .

I am sorry Steve --I'm not Dar you--I just find that when people are posting about why they are, leaving its never all their fault--you lasted 11 months & although working here still ran out of money--great financial planing,--but don't lets reflect on that, lets talk more about the unrest & danger that lurks beneath the surface & made you uncomfortable being here.

    .

Good luck in life in Brisbane--I had 30 years there (& G.C. & S.C) & while I really enjoyed my life in Oz--I had never heard of anyone comparing Brissy (against the other Oz cities) as a beautiful city.--but I think you are more in a Justifying Zone then anything else at the moment Steve....so good luck with that also.

I lived on the Gold Coast Qld for over 20 years and I felt decidedly more unsafe at night there than I do here, the amount of drunk and drugged up youths that wander the Gold Coast and hang around the South port mall is scary and for some reason the walking up to a stranger and punching them to knock them out has become a sport. i left there 2 years ago and do not regret a minute of being here in Banchang

  5. I use a beach bar in Bangchang called the crossroads it has a good mixture of falang and Thai custom, ( no bar girls), I quite often get into conversations with the Thai patrons and have got quite friendly with some, and I have noticed when they leave or I leave the bar they will squeeze my fore or upper arm, I asked my T/g/f about this practice and she said it was a male Thai sign of friendship and respect.

We had a great night there last Saturday with the Thai rock legend Lam Morrison over 200 people came to see him it was packed ( only a small bar) and the only one ones making idiots of themselves and falling over drunk were the Falangs I felt quite ashamed of my country men.

  6. We stayed in Pattaya overnight after the fire works and had breakfast in a well know English golf themed pub in south Pattaya .At one of the tables was a couple of ferangs with their Thai wives and a couple of kids, the kids ran amok around the dining room whilst we had breafast, after a while of the parents ignoring the kids antic I complained to the parents and asked if the would control their kids while we ate our breakfast in peace, the Thai mother exploded into insults at us in Thai and said they eat there every Sat morning and nobody has complained before, but I did notice us and them were the only people there for breakfast so maybe others had voted with their feet.

After I had a few brief words with her English husband and a few selective words from our wives to his wife they made their kids sit and behave themselves.

One thing I do not accept is to go into an adult venue, a bar or pub and have kids run riot around my table, if I was in Mac Donald's fair enough it is for kids

Spare the rod and spoil the child is very good advice for every family

My advice mate is to find another girl friend because this kid will get worse and you will end up supporting him when he is an adult, Try to find the rare breed of girl an orphan with no kids or extended family they are like gold

  7. There are just so many problems with U-Turns throughout Thailand. Sure, not every major intersection can be Traffic Light Controlled BUT...

If they installed ROUND-A-BOUTS instead of U-Turns, it would be a far more Cost-Effective way of "getting around the problem."

I think you need to sit at the roundabout in Pattaya and watch the antics of the drivers trying to navigate the thing it is hilarious they get on the roundabout and stop then let others go and have no idea why to do once they want to exit. I sat there for ten minutes once and nearly wet myself laughingcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif it is so pathetic the standard of driving in this country

  8. Your post was obviously written "tongue in cheek" but you do pose an interesting subject David. Why not farm kangaroo in Thailand? Australia isn't interested and Thailand has the perfect climate.

Easy to manage, but hard to catch and tend to punch back when trying to dispatch them, thats why they are shot from a distance and not killed like cattle the muslims would have a hard job doing it halal style with those big back leg claws tearing at their bellies, would need some pretty high fences as well, but if it takes off put me down as a customer roo meat is so good for you low in fat and cholesterol and tastes great

  11. 20-40% down compared to last year. This is mainly due to increasing numbers of Chinese and Russian tourists. ??

sorry a bit confusing up /down down /up ??? or have i missed the point again

Sorry. I though it was obvious. Yes, like hansgruber says the market has changed and tourists are escorted to selected businesses. Arrivals are up but I am not sure how much of the money actually stays in Phuket or Thailand.

The same thing happened in Australia on the Gold Coast the Japanese, koreans and Chinese booked their holidays in their home countries and were led around like sheep to selected duty free shops and restaurants and told it was not safe to go out on your own, they even charged them to go to our FREE beaches for a couple of hours.

So the the business's that were not connected to the tour company got nothing from the Asian tourist unless you agreed to give a massive kick back to the tour leaders

I was in Walking St Pattaya the other night and there was dozens of tour groups following the guide with the flag did not see them stop once to buy a drink or anything they just had to keep up with the guy with the flag

These tour groups really do not do much for local business

Don't get me wrong... I am pro-American (I'm in the minority probably!) but the 2nd amendment typifies everything that is wrong with America. The parchment and the society it belongs to are from the 19th century. It has no place in a civilised world.

And a civilised world is a world where only the criminal can be armed and you cannot protect your family or yourself from these law breakers what would protect my wife or daughter in the case of home invasion and rape, phone police ( 20 min response time ) rape whistle ignored by most people, condom maybe if they bothered, but good training in shooting and availability of a weapon

  13. Using guns for peace is like <deleted> for virginity

not being able to defends ones self and family is like a chicken waiting to have it's throat, cut the police and army cannot be everywhere all the time, most of these terrorist go for soft targets like teachers on there way to school or shooting young girls in the back of the head whilst on a motor bike.

As a policeman friend in Aussie said to me "we can't prevent crime we just arrive after the act to clean up and investigate" you are under a delusion if you think they can protect you, your personal safety and the safety of your family is up to you alone

  14. Insurgents? What does that mean? The people from the religion of Compassion, Peace and Tolerance; the same ones who shoot young girls in Afghanistan? or ... are they political dissidents?

AND ,,, Why would the "people of interest" in the 2006 murder of the girl's father continue to be "people of interest" in 2014? What does that mean?

Discussions like this one always end up going on about religion, but this is mostly a territorial dispute and one where both sides of the dispute have some valid points.

You are of course having a go at Muslims and the islamic faith, but when you do that just be aware that pro-rata Muslims are statistically no more likely to be extremists (terrorists, insurgents, freedom fighters, resistance or whatever you want to call them) than than many other religions.

By far the vast majority of people in the world are peaceful, and Muslims are no different to the majority of people in the world. The number of Muslims who support violence is very small indeed. Remember it's minority groups and governments that cause the worlds problems, not the people.

For the record I'm not a Muslim myself, but I'm sick of the Islamophobia that is propagated by the mass media.

As the saying goes Most Muslims are not terrorist but most terrorists are Muslims, go figure

  15. It said that they found a gun in the boot of the car, that later turned out to be a BB gun. If that is the gun the Cop is holding at the boot of the car, I don't think it's a BB gun as it has a revolving chamber?

Well spotted mate, I have never seen a revolver BB gun I don't believe there is such a thing.

Yes they do sell bb guns in revolver lookalike Smith & wesson .38 very hard to tell from the real thing and I own the real thing, size and weight almost the same
