You were looking for the wrong box...the last letter is "s" not "c".

Thanks for swift message rawhod. Yes the last letter really is a C . I assumed that the s stood for sattelite and the c for cable?

The picture of the device looks identical to my one which was delivered in a brown box.

Sorry I should have emphasised that my TrueVisions service is cable and not sattelite.

  2. Yesterday True upgraded my broadband to fibre with new cabling and a new router. All working well.

As the engineer was leaving he handed me another box. I asked what is it and he could only reply "free, free".

It is aTruevisions Skyworth HD-SK1000C and looks like another tv decoder.

I already have Truevisions cable TV with Gold packages and 2 decoders.

Do I connect this to the TreuVisions cable? Is so where do I buy the coaxial cable to loop with one of the decoders?

If it is for more channels, is it free? Do I get different channels to my gold package?

And maybe a rhetorical question --- why was it delivered by a True broadband installation engineer?

I should add that last night I searched for several hours on the various True websites to no avail!

  3. I can't recommend Thaiexpat.tv highly enough.

About 650 baht per month for the basic channels (all UK free to air channels).

Watch via your computer --- via HDMI cable to your TV. And control via a wireless mouse.

OR no computer required ------ purchase an Android box. This is a small box the size of a couple of cigarette packets for about 6k Baht. This goes on top of your TV, so no computer involved (but broadband LAN or wifi still required).

They offer a couple of days free trial to see if your broadband and computer are fast enough.

    https://www.thaiexpat.tv/

The set top box negates the need for a 50 metre HDMI cable.

Available all over Asia AND on my smart-phone!

PS I have no interest in Thaiexpat other than a satisfied customer.

PPS Do not confuse this with another company with a very similar name.

PPS Absolutely no set-up needed. Download the free player and type in user name and password.

Overwhelming support for keeping the ugly sun loungers off the beach.

It must be so frustrating for that old cow mayor to not have that fat gravy train no longer pouring into her coffers.

Phuket beaches are now beautiful since our beloved PM Prayuth threw those ugly sunchairs off the beach.

I see on the average less than 50% of the mats and umbrellas being used on any day on any beach. They're not needed! They're not wanted.

A big middle finger salute to Phuket's mayor!

    I love irony.

I think nothing more important than check if the heater is connected with ground.

First I should state that I am (was) an electrical engineer, although more on the electronics side than heavy duty electrics.

I've lived in Bangkok at the same apartment for 13 years.

The bathroom heater started giving shocks to the maid.

The landlord called in a specialist company who discovered the heaters weren't earthed (grounded).

Then the whole apartment wasn't earthed.

Yes the heater had one of those Thai plastic circuit breakers in the shower area. Horrifying!

First get a professional electrician to check your earth connections. (How to find a PROFESSIONAL in Thailand I have no idea).

    I

If I were leaving for a period of time, I'd unplug any appliances (knowing the state of Thai wiring).

Lastly, although this thread contains a lot of useful advice, don't take any advice on electrical, medical or legal advice from  forum threads or bar-rooms (ESPECIALLY MY ADVICE).

    Maybe.

Is this similar to the kiosk, recently closed, at Phrom Pong station that was called a 'one stop shop' that renewed or replaced lost I.D. cards, handled name change etc. Perhaps they also did passports.

Surely the photo is an archive shot of a regular office ------ it looks a bit big to be at a tube station.

The link to the original article doesn't work for me.

There's this wonderful new tool on the Interweb now called a "Search engine". One such engine is "Google". When I use Google to search for "reset iphone with unknown passcode" I come up with https://support.apple.com/en-afri/HT204306

What an unhelpful waste of space reply.

The O.P. was asking for anyone who had personal expeiences not sarcastic comments.

If you can't  help, don't waste your or our time.
